The Jeffersons is a spin-off from All in the Family, in which George, Louise and Lionel Jefferson have moved to a "de-luxe apartment in the sky-yyy" in Manhattan. George is wealthy and snobbish and owns the successful Jefferson Cleaners. He and Louise, his long-suffering wife, have been married for twenty five years. The series revolves around George, a bigoted, loud-mouthed bully who barks at his wife and maid and struts like a peacock. - TV Land's CASA Family Night
Sunday, September 24, 2006
9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. ET/PT
Having dinner with the family helps everyone reconnect at the end of the day. The family table is often a place where families catch up on their days, share stories and problems – and eat. Whether Ward inadvertently advises Beaver on how to fight a girl or Archie unwittingly breaks bread with a draft dodger, our TV Land families are definitely sharing more than meals at their tables!
Also, on Monday, September 25 from 6-7pm TV Land will pre-empt regularly-scheduled programming to encourage family dinner time from CASA Family Day: A Day to Eat Dinner with Your Children.
9:00pm Leave it to Beaver #4 – The Black Eye
Beaver comes home one from school one day with a black eye. Ward is very upset that Beaver didn't fight back until he finds out that a girl hit his son.
9:30pm Three’s Company #61 – The Lifesaver
The trio's outrageous escapades result in an eviction notice from Furley and they get ready to move into a luxurious rent-free penthouse.
10:00pm Good Times #32 – The Dinner Party
An elderly resident of the projects appears to be living on pet food after Michael takes out her garbage. She brings a meatloaf to dinner at the Evans house and the kids suspect it is made from dog food.
10:30pm All in the Family #149 – The Draft Dodger
Christmas dinner at the Bunkers finds Archie playing host to a draft dodger and a father whose son was killed in the war. Archie’s convictions put a strain on the holiday spirit until an exchange between the father and draft dodger leaves him stunned and speechless.

Pavan 07-14-2006, 04:16 PM The thread is open! Open sesame!
Oh....drat, no more Munsters at 6:30? Not even a late night airing? Must not have done well.
Pavan 07-14-2006, 05:08 PM The Munsters did not do well early evening, that is why I was saying they would probably remove that hour. Green Acres will remain at least. The Munsters performs better in the mornings.
That's too bad. I made a post on their PSB and said to keep it then, just for the heck of it.
tvparadise 07-14-2006, 05:18 PM That really does not make it look good for 'The Munsters', just being reduced to 8am.
I was surprised to see 'Green Acres' at 6:30pm and not 'The Jeffersons'.
They should really keep 1pm - 2pm on the weekends the same. Sure will be hard to catch 'Benson', 'Night Court', and 'Cheers' (not to mention 'Wings'). 'Cheers' doesn't bother me as much because I buy the DVDs but it's still hurtful to see it only at 4am.
It will be awesome to see 'The Ropers' and 'Three's A Crowd' for the first time (outside of 'The Ropers' episodes in the TC package). 'Three's Company' is really back with a bang!
Pavan 07-14-2006, 05:23 PM It will be awesome to see 'The Ropers' and 'Three's A Crowd' for the first time (outside of 'The Ropers' episodes in the TC package). 'Three's Company' is really back with a bang!
Bang is right. The ratings are up to the roof yet again!
As for the spinoffs, I'm so pumped. I don't have #8, 27, 28 of Ropers taped. And for Three's a Crowd I don't have #22 taped.
Dennis Dubois 07-14-2006, 05:24 PM This is a nice schedule. Don't assume things so fast! September is when things get good anyway. I'm disappointed that the evening is the same old shows. I love the morning weekday schedule, but I'm not home in the fall in the morning. See, 227, What's Happening, and Benson will return, but may I add Benson and Cheers are in real bad slots. I like that Lucy is on when I wake up.
Hopefully the I network will fill the evening void with some great shows. If not that, I hope TBS leaves Seinfeld at 6 and Raymond at 7. They won't though.
judgestone 07-14-2006, 05:44 PM Question: What happen to 7pm to 9pm? what show is going to be during that timeslot block? Thank you for letting us know what time Night Court and Cheer will be.
Thank you
Pavan 07-14-2006, 05:54 PM Question: What happen to 7pm to 9pm? what show is going to be during that timeslot block? Thank you for letting us know what time Night Court and Cheer will be.
Thank you
As I mentioned on the top, whatever timeslot is not shown in the changes, that means it will remain the same as what is airing currently. So, 7-9pm remains Beaver, Andy and Little House.
JudgeStone,
7:00PM Leave it to Beaver
7:30PM Andy Griffith
8:00PM Little House on the Prairie
Hope that helps.
Scoobiedoo30 07-14-2006, 06:00 PM The 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm will have The same show that are airing now
benjamoon 07-14-2006, 07:38 PM Any word on what will replace "The Addams Family" in October? It seems like they are out of 50s and 60s shows for that time frame besides the ones that are already airing there
Overall, the schedule is not horrible. I will be back at school so I probably won't be watching much. Even though I'm not a fan of a lot of the shows, I'm glad to see that it's a FAIR schedule. Only three shows are shown 4X a day and they all include at least one overnight airing. I would be happy to see "Cheers," "Happy Days," "Benson," and "Brady Bunch" with more than 1 airing and I'd be glad to see "Wings" still on but I'll take it
I'm glad "Green Acres" is doing well. Even though i'm not a big fan of that show particularly, it gives me hope for 60s programming!
gilligan fanatic 07-14-2006, 07:42 PM besides DVD missing sounds preety good

October 1 at 9am is listed as TBD. So no idea yet.
I think this is a fair schedule - not as good as the one now, but FAAAR better than the September 2005 one. I'm glad Green Acres was renewed and is doing well, but I'm a little disturbed about "The Munsters" - Seems to me they would have at least kept the early morning airing or moved the show to 5PM or something like that. Good Times paired up with Green Acres - LOL, that's a first! I do wonder, though, what will become of Little House after Star Trek comes. I guess there is no choice except to air it at 5AM or something like that - which doesn't bother me, as I can see it on Hallmark.
I can't wait for the TC weekend with the spin-offs. I had a feeling that that would happen sooner or later as TC is one of the channel's hugest hits. Can't wait to see the unaired pilot. Do you know which one it is?
With "Daniele Boone" airing for a week, I hope to God that "That Girl" gets the same treatment in December when it comes to TVLand Broadband. I haven't seen the show in maybe 10 or 11 years.
I hope That Girl gets a marathon as well as a regular spot on the schedule. That would be great!
TVJunkie101 07-14-2006, 08:45 PM It's a pretty good schedule. The Three's Company weekend looks great! It sucks the spinoffs air in the dead of early morning, but meh, at least they're airing!
Pavan 07-14-2006, 08:54 PM Can't wait to see the unaired pilot. Do you know which one it is?
Not yet. I was hoping both would air, since two slots: Sat 10pm and Sun 6pm...we'll see.
Brent88 07-14-2006, 09:03 PM WOOHOO! I am so excited for Labor Day weekend!
party:
Thanks for the info, Pavanbadal. :D
Scoobiedoo30 07-15-2006, 12:05 AM I have been looking forward to The Jeffersons Returning To TV Land
ever since I heard the news that The Jeffersons were coming back to TV Land
TheLink said a little bit about "That Girl":
A contract for "That Girl" has not been finalized to the point that it can be considered a TV Land Show. I'll be following that one closely. There's discussion as to whether it will be an on-air or online or both show.
Scoobiedoo30 07-15-2006, 11:30 AM That would be good if TV Land could get The Right's to That Girl when was The last Time TV Land aired That Girl on there schedule
I think it disappeared sometime in 1998, but I'm not sure. Hopefully it'll be on-air AND online...they need some new 60s sitcoms to replace the ones that have left (Bewitched, Jeannie, Dick Van Dyke).
I agree about replacing "Bewitched," "Jeannie," and "Dick Van Dyke."
I think three good replacements would be "That Girl," "Julia," and "Family Affair," or perhaps, maybe an early 60s show like "Hazel" or "The Patty Duke Show."
I think the chances for those are slim to none, though.
Scoobiedoo30 07-15-2006, 12:35 PM Julia is another great show that I would love to see Return to The TV Land Schedule along with Family Affire as well if my Memory is Correct I belive
The last Network to air Family Affire was FX
More info from The Link. He says The Munsters was pulled from the 6:30PM airing due to contract restrictions.
"The existing contract expires at the end of October and there are a limited number of airplays remaining between now and the end of the contract. Thus, it was necessary to pull it back from the 6:30 p.m. airing. "
judgestone 07-15-2006, 05:31 PM Im not Jefferson fan myself but I hope it closed captioned this time but the last time that tvland air Jefferson it is not closed captioned at that time.
Pavan 07-15-2006, 06:34 PM The Jeffersons will be closed-captioned.
Scoobiedoo30 07-15-2006, 06:35 PM I forgot that The Jeffersons was not Closed Captioed.
Scoobiedoo30 07-15-2006, 07:00 PM That is good news That The Jeffersons will be Closed Captioned
I wonder why The Jeffersons was not closed Captioned
The Last Time The Jeffersons was on TV Land Schedule
judgestone 07-15-2006, 08:21 PM Why is not closed captioned last time? is becasue need money, funded or who will sponsor closed captioned for the each show. That is good to know that Jefferson will be closed captioned this time as Im not a fan of show but I like Florence as she alway stood up Mr J.
TVFactFan 07-15-2006, 09:10 PM All this Thread does is make the summer LONGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-lol
James"Thunder"Early 07-15-2006, 09:15 PM Looks good

What are you talking about?! Online TV is getting bigger and bigger as each year goes by. And I don't deal with it much because I have a slow computer, but I used to watch classic soap episodes all the time on this one site before it went to subscription only and the video and audio was as good as it was on the tape that it was sent in on.
This is a way for networks to show us rarer things because they don't have to seel advertising time for broadband shows. I wouldn't be surprised if TVLand soon moved all of their 50s-60s stuff to the broadband channel and made the TV channel all 70s-80s. I'd hate that, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Broadband is the new thing. I see you have never watched In2TV. DVD quality episodes. You have a computer don't you? Yet another complaint post by you.
Every time I've tried to watch in2TV it stops in episodes and I wait minutes on end for it to start back playing. Online video doesn't work well, at least for me. I hope they have a dial-up feature on the 'Broadband player.'
Pavan 07-20-2006, 09:10 PM Try AOL-HQ, it is like popping in a DVD. Dial-up is a thing of the past, lol. That is so late 90s, lol. I got rid of it thankfully in 1999.

I knew it was a negative-lol
Pavan 07-20-2006, 11:41 PM Solomon you need high speed internet. In a few years a lot of things will be on broadband. It will be like digital cable...slowly things will make its transition to broadband.

Well I won't be using it-lol I hate change
spunkygirl 07-21-2006, 02:08 AM Sucks they're getting rid of Wings-AGAIN :( They're just letting Dick Van Dyke show expire?
Three's Company weekend looks great :D
I've never watched in2TV either, cause I only have Windows 98, if I ever get the money for a new computer then I can finally welcome myself into the 21st Century
The broadband here's awful. Very expensive and it was always going out... just terrible terrible service. So we had to change it.
rodwayne 07-21-2006, 11:13 AM It seems that I'm not the only one that think Broadband is overhype, overrated, and just nothing more than an example of trying to get people to try out technology that not even perfected yet.I too only have Windows 98,and Dail-up,so you can see why I might have a problem with it.Not everyone have the money to upgrade, nor want to spend thousands of dollars getting a new computer just to see T.V. shows that they ought to be able to see for free(and you have to pay for cable to see N@N (N@N) T.V. LAND:( )But I see that I'm in a no win situation,so have it your way!
Pavan 07-21-2006, 12:08 PM Computers don't cost thousands of dollars anymore. You can get a good one for less than $400.
I don't really find sitting at a computer and watching TV very amusing. lol....when will the updated September be out? Or will it stay the same?
Brent88 07-21-2006, 01:29 PM Broadband is SO much better than Slow-Up. The only thing I've asked myself since I dumped it 3 1/2 years ago is why I didn't sooner. Open up your wallet and let some fresh air in.
Pavan 07-21-2006, 03:02 PM I don't really find sitting at a computer and watching TV very amusing. lol....when will the updated September be out? Or will it stay the same?
You can hook the computer up to the TV...it is very easy to do it. Updated September will probably be out soon, but it'll be pretty much the same except maybe 5-6pm will be one Jeffersons instead.

Is there a way to record the tvshows on Tv land.com
Pavan 07-21-2006, 05:26 PM Not sure yet, since it hasn't debuted yet. I'm sure many techies will figure a way to save them. I have yet to find a way to save them on In2TV, though. They air stuff uncut.
benjamoon 07-22-2006, 09:39 PM So is there any word on whether the new schedule changes will impact the September schedule?
Also - I think TV Land should honor The Dick Van Dyke Show before it departs. It is the longest running show in combined N@N/TVL history and except for two and a half months in the summer of 2000, it has aired non-stop on one of the two networks since October of 1991. It is the 2nd longest running show ever on N@N (after Donna Reed Show) and the 2nd longest currently running show on TVL (after Gunsmoke) - too bad TV Land can't even give it a proper send off
I agree, benjamoon. They've never really treated TDVDS with any respect, I think they aired it at a few decent times when it launched on TV Land but it must have faltered.
Actually - I could be wrong, but I think Leave it to Beaver is the longest running show behind Gunsmoke...I believe it debuted in May of 1998? Again, I could be wrong though. DVD is definately up there.

Are you telling me that Gunsmoke has been on TV LAND 8 Straight years????
Scoobiedoo30 07-23-2006, 12:19 PM Gunsmoke has been on TV Land for 8 Straight Year's that seems like a Record to me
Pavan 07-23-2006, 12:37 PM No, 10 straight. Gunsmoke started in 1996.
Scoobiedoo30 07-23-2006, 12:40 PM now that has to be a Record Gunsmoke being on TV Land for 10 Straight Year's
TVFactFan 07-23-2006, 12:40 PM No, 10 straight. Gunsmoke started in 1996.
Thanks, now it's confirmed that TV LAND is the stupidest Cable Station in America
Scoobiedoo30 07-23-2006, 01:00 PM I am just wondering what is The Record for a Show to stay on a Cable Network
Guess I made an error there, I meant LitB had been on for 8 years, not Gunsmoke.
Scoobiedoo30 07-23-2006, 02:21 PM it has been 8 year's since Leave it to Beaver has been on TV Land
benjamoon 07-23-2006, 05:28 PM You're right about LITB - and actually Andy Griffith is the 3rd longest running, premiering in Jan 2000, but DVD is still up there! and of course it is the 2nd longest running EVER on N@N
Scoobiedoo30 07-23-2006, 05:30 PM The Andy Griffith Show Debuted on Janurary 1, 2000
Well, according to TheLink, Green Acres has been renewed to run until 2009. Yay! :happyface
MikeLutton 07-23-2006, 09:20 PM Green Acers is the worst show in history

gilligan fanatic 07-23-2006, 09:28 PM I wholeheartedly DISAGREE with you...I'm so glad Green Acres has been renewed! :)
Yes, I just have season 3 on DVD so I am glad it got renewed too. GA is Great! :)
Michael72581 07-24-2006, 12:19 AM Im happy that TVLand renewed "Green Acres". "Green Acres" is a great show. Funny, watchable, enjoyable, great episodes, and great characters. One of the best sitcoms from the 60s. A classic. I wish TVLand would get rid of "The Andy Griffith Show" permanently and replace its timeslots with "Green Acres". Its not fair that for 6 years straight "The Andy Griffith Show" has been on the TVLand primetime schedule and "Green Acres" had to be pushed off the primetime schedule and given bad timeslots after TVLand had rights to it for not even a year. "The Andy Griffith Show" has been rerun to death on TVLand. I was mad that in October 2005, "The Andy Griffith Show" got a 48 hour marathon weekend for its 45th anniversary and "Green Acres" got NOTHING but a five hour marathon for its 40th anniversary in September 2005. That was not fair. Why is "The Andy Griffith Show" such a great show. Its one of the worst shows I have ever seen. Stupid, ********, lame, corny, boring, stupid episodes, stupid characters, sometimes depressing, and unwatchable. Its time for TVLand to finally let go of "The Andy Griffith Show". I also wish TVLand would acquire and bring back "The Beverly Hillbillies". It would be great if TVLand aired "The Beverly Hillbillies" at 9:00pm and "Green Acres" at 9:30pm back to back on the TVLand primetime schedule. "The Beverly Hillbillies" and "Green Acres" are 10 times better and more funny, watchable, and enjoyable than "The Andy Griffith Show". These were the only two rural sitcoms I liked and the two best rural sitcoms in all of television.
benjamoon 07-24-2006, 11:56 AM I find "The Beverly Hillbillies" and "Green Acres" incredibly corny and childish. I think the humor is at an elementary school level and although I'm happy TV Land did actually renew a 60s sitcom, I would have muuch preferred "The Dick Van Dyke Show"
While I'm not saying that TV Land has not run a LOT of "The Andy Griffith Show" - it is an all-time loved classic. It has classy writing and the characters are timeless. There's a reason why that show continues to be the most successful 60s show in syndication and TV Land certainly does not overplay it anymore even though they used to
MikeLutton 07-24-2006, 12:03 PM i agree with other person.Andy Griffth is worst show in tv history be shown on tv land its lame it sucks is boring and all else.just like Leave it to beaver i hate it for same reasons
rodwayne 07-24-2006, 03:01 PM IMO,all of thses shows seems like they been playing too long. Now,they're doing it again;renewing GREEN ACERS until 2009;ARE THEY CRAZY!!!:eek2: omg: :cuss: :wallbang Why can't they rotate some of the 50's and 60's shows?!?And buying another computer isn't the point;there's a princaple to this, that being I want to see my T.V. shows clear, have the ability to record them, and no one shouldn't be held hostage by the computer in order to see thses shows.Once again, the point is miss!!!
tvparadise 07-24-2006, 04:17 PM The reason that The Andy Griffith Show remains around is because so many people do like it. It is not about TV Land being unfair, it is about TV Land being a business and The Andy Griffith Show brings in the ratings.
I'm happy that they renewed Green Acres, but till 2009 seems quite long. It seems to only receive mediocre ratings and that seems like too much of a gamble. If The Munsters does not get renewed, it will just be down to The Andy Griffith Show and Green Acres as far as 60's sitcoms. They only show 2 50's sitcoms, but I Love Lucy and Leave it to Beaver seem to be the 2 50's sitcoms that define that decade best. For the 60's, Griffith is definately one, but to just have 2 I don't know if I would go with Green Acres as the other, although I do like it. I have to agree with benjamoon and say they should have gone with The Dick Van Dyke Show instead.
Scoobiedoo30 07-24-2006, 04:20 PM The Andy Griffith Show must be like The Number 1 Show on TV Land
judgestone 07-30-2006, 04:17 PM Green Acres renewal til 2009? Tvland is wasting their time & it not going to helped them & also it is too bad GA is not closed captioned I wont be watching it. I understand that I network is planning to air GA hopefully it closed captioned on I network.
Kristen 08-02-2006, 11:40 PM Noooo... They can't take Wings off TV Land!! I know Season 3 comes out on DVD in Oct, but still! I would love to see another station pick it up, but I know better than to hold my breath, lol.
TheLink has posted all of the contract details for shows....seems that Happy Days/MacGyver won't be renewed and The Munsters will. I'm not surprised, I figured it would work out along the lines of that.
Pavan 08-07-2006, 09:54 AM I don't think The Munsters is being renewed.
TVJunkie101 08-07-2006, 10:29 AM Well, for Happy Days at least there is WGN (although it won't be on in September).
The Munsters to ME is 50/50. I don't see why they wouldn't renew. It's a good performer. But we'll see.
Scoobiedoo30 08-07-2006, 11:41 AM I think that The Munster have a good Change to be renewed by TV Land

Pavan 08-09-2006, 01:30 PM TV Land Journeys to The Final Frontier to Celebrate The 40th Anniversary of Star Trek on Friday, September 8
Network Airs Primetime Salute With Series' Most Memorable Episodes Star Trek to Join Regularly-Scheduled TV Land Line-up Beginning November 17
NEW YORK, Aug. 9 -- TV Land celebrates Star Trek -- the legendary, science-fiction series which continues to "live long and prosper" - - with a 40th Anniversary primetime salute on Friday, September 8, 2006 -- the very date on which the series first premiered in 1966. TV Land will showcase four of the most talked about and best remembered episodes from the series, including the show's premiere and the historic episode featuring TV's first interracial kiss from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. ET/PT before the show joins the TV Land roster beginning November 17, 2006. Also in November, TVLand.com's new broadband media player will stream full-length episodes of Star Trek which have previously not been available for free on the Web.
"Star Trek forever changed the landscape of television and science fiction, and to this day, remains a cornerstone of pop culture," states Larry W. Jones, President, TV Land and Nick at Nite. "It continues to attract passionate fans, and we are thrilled to mark this monumental anniversary on TV Land."
"I'm thrilled that TV Land is celebrating this special anniversary of a show that means so much to me," adds William Shatner. "I am so proud of its creativity and ability to see humanity in the future. It is still amazing to see how Star Trek continues to impact generations of fans around the globe."
This futuristic series, which aired from 1966 to 1969, is set in the 23rd century and follows the adventures of the U.S.S. Enterprise. Their mission is to travel across the galaxy to explore new worlds and seek new life forms and civilizations. Commanded by James T. Kirk (William Shatner), accompanied by his first officer and best friend Mr. Spock (Leonard Nimoy), a half-breed Vulcan with a green complexion and pointed ears. The Enterprise encountered confrontations with alien races the Klingons and Romulans, as well as other strange forms of life. Other characters in the series include Dr. Leonard McCoy (DeForest Kelley), a surgeon and diagnostician; Sulu (George Takei), the chief navigator; Uhura (Nichelle Nichols), the communications officer; Scotty (James Doohan), the chief engineer and Nurse Christine Chapel (Majel Barrett). The series aired from 1966 to 1969 on NBC and spawned a billion dollar franchise and a loyal legion of fans, otherwise known as "Trekkies."
The schedule airs as follows (all times ET/PT):
Friday, September 8
8 p.m.
#1 The Man Trap - In this very first episode ever aired of Star Trek, Captain Kirk and his crew are at deadly risk from an alien creature that feeds on the salt in a human body and can take on any form.
9 p.m.
#28 - City On The Edge Of Forever - Kirk and Spock must travel into the past in order to correct a change that will alter history in one of the series' best-remembered episodes.
10 p.m.
#44 The Trouble With Tribbles - One of the most famous episodes from this series for its humor and bizarre plot. Stanley Adams plays Cyrano Jones, a space trader who gives a tribble (a ball of fluff) to Uhura who brings it on The Enterprise. What no one knows is that tribbles are born pregnant, so the more they eat, the more they multiply, and soon the Enterprise is filled with tribbles as they produce at amazing speed, leaving Kirk and his crew to figure out how to get rid of these creatures.
11 p.m.
#65 - Plato's Stepchildren - This episode is famous because it was the first time ever on television that an interracial kiss was featured, between Captain Kirk and Uhura. Also in this episode, Kirk and his crew find themselves at the mercy of individuals who possess mind-over-matter powers...and plan to use the Enterprise crew for their twisted entertainment

And yes, Murphy Brown will continue to air Saturday nights from 12-4am.
Scoobiedoo30 09-08-2006, 10:20 AM it good to see The Andy Griffith Show Retuneing to it 8:00 pm Regural Time Period
Kristen 09-08-2006, 05:54 PM So now Murphy Brown will only be on for those Sat. marathons (Unless TV Land does one of their 48-hour marathons), right? That's a bummer.
Pavan 09-08-2006, 08:51 PM Murphy Brown will be back on Nick@Nite in daily airings at 5:30am, but for TV Land yes, only Sat nights 12-4am.
Scoobiedoo30 09-08-2006, 08:59 PM I know I will still watch urphy Brown on Saturday Night from starting at 11:00 pm
71dude 09-09-2006, 09:20 AM 9:00PM The Andy Griffith Show
Sigh. I knew it was too good to last.
How is Cosby doing on TV Land? I guess not too good since it's been bumped to 10:30PM? It's a decent show, but has been and still is horribly overplayed...no show is good enough to be on 4 different channels plus most locals!
Pavan 09-09-2006, 11:27 PM Not sure, but it probably didn't bring in the same ratings as what aired before at 9:00PM. It probably didn't bomb, as it is still on at a good slot. Good Times will probably help it. If not, I expect Jeffersons to take 10:30 and Sanford & Son to come back to 9:30.
Kevmath 09-11-2006, 11:00 PM Any idea when (or if) Night Court will have more airings than the 9:30am Sunday slot (when it's not preempted by a marathon)?
Kevin...
Pavan 09-11-2006, 11:12 PM No other changes, so Night Court will just be 9:30am Sundays.
71dude 09-12-2006, 01:59 PM Is The Jeffersons doing good numbers?
Scoobiedoo30 09-12-2006, 02:04 PM I have a Feeling The Jeffersons is getting very Good Ratings for TV Land.

Pavan 09-19-2006, 11:57 PM CASA* and TV Land/Nick at Nite Report Finds: Teens Having Two or Fewer Family Dinners Per Week Twice as Likely to Smoke Daily and Get Drunk Monthly
Family Dinners Proven Proxy for Parental Engagement
NEW YORK, Sept. 19 -- Teens who have infrequent family
dinners (two or fewer per week) are twice as likely to smoke daily and get
drunk monthly, compared to teens who have frequent family dinners (at least
five per week), according to a new report from The National Center on
Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) at Columbia University and sponsored
by TV Land and Nick at Nite's Family Table. This is the first time the
study has examined the relationship between a teen's current tobacco and
alcohol use and family dinners.
The report, The Importance of Family Dinners III, also reveals that,
compared to teens who have five or more family dinners per week, those who
have two or fewer are:
* More than twice as likely to have tried cigarettes;
* One and a half times likelier to have tried alcohol;
* Twice as likely to have tried marijuana; and
* More than twice as likely to say future drug use is very or somewhat
likely.
Findings in The Importance of Family Dinners III draw from CASA's 11th
annual back-to-school survey, released this past August.
Parental Engagement
The report's findings underscore the significance of family dinners as
a proxy for parental engagement.
Compared to parents who say their families have dinners together
frequently, those who have infrequent family dinners are:
* Five times likelier to say they have a fair or poor relationship with
their teen;
* One and a half times likelier to say they know the parents of their
teen's friends not very well or not at all;
* More than twice as likely to say they do not know the names of their
teen's teachers; and
* Twice as likely to say that parents deserve not very much blame or no
blame at all when a teenager uses illegal drugs.
"This year's findings prove that family dinners and the communication
that occurs over the course of a meal are critical in building a
relationship with your children and to understanding the world in which
they live," said Joseph A. Califano, Jr., CASA's chairman and president and
former U.S. Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare. "Parents who have
frequent family dinners are those who take the time to know their child's
friends and the parents of these friends, know their child's teachers and
chaperone their parties, and have healthier kids."
"Once again, the study's findings serve as a wake-up call to the
benefits of engaging kids consistently at the family table," states Larry
W. Jones, President, TV Land and Nick at Nite. "At TV Land and Nick at
Nite, our Family Table initiative serves to spread the word on why families
need to make sharing meals a priority. Each year, the Importance of Family
Dinners study reminds us that making the commitment to eat together on a
regular basis can influence your kids lives more than anything else you do.
We're honored to put this messaging on our air and feel privileged to host
familytable.info for participants around the country to register their
family, friends and loved ones to celebrate Family Day."
Too Busy for Dinner
This year, 58 percent of teens report having dinner with their families
at least five times a week, the same proportion CASA has observed over the
past several years. Consistent with what teens report, 59 percent of
parents say they have frequent family dinners.
This year, for the first time the study asked teens and parents who
have infrequent family dinners to tell us the main reason why their family
does not have dinner together more often. More than one in five of these
parents and teens say they are too busy to have dinner together more often.
The reason most commonly given by parents for why family dinners are not
more frequent is because of conflicting schedules, while the most common
reason given by teens is because one or both parents work late.
Family Dining and Academic Performance
Teens who have frequent family dinners are likelier to get better
grades in school, and higher academic performance is associated with lower
substance abuse risk.
Teens who have dinner with their families five or more times a week are
likelier to say that they receive either all A's or mostly A's and B's in
school compared to teens who have dinner with their families fewer than
three times a week (63 percent vs. 49 percent). Teens who typically receive
grades of C or lower are at twice the risk of substance abuse as those
receiving all A's or mostly A's and B's.
Other Findings
* Family dinners mostly take place at home: more than 90 percent of teens
and parents say they have fewer than three family dinners per week at a
restaurant or someplace other than their home.
* Family dinners are also more common than family breakfasts: only 17
percent of teens and 13 percent of parents say they eat breakfast with a
family member five or more times per week.
* Twenty-six percent of 17-year olds have family dinners seven nights per
week compared to 51 percent of 12-year olds and 40 percent of 13-year
olds.
* Teens who have frequent family dinners are more than twice as likely to
say that parents are always home during the house parties they attend.
* Compared to teens who have five or more family dinners per week, those
who have two or less are twice as likely to report that half or more of
their friends use marijuana and are one and a half times likelier to say
half or more of their friends drink alcohol.
"Of course there are no silver bullets; teen substance abuse can strike
any family. But one factor that does more to reduce teens' substance abuse
risk is parental engagement and one of the simplest and most effective ways
for parents to be engaged in their teens' lives is by having frequent
family dinners," Califano concluded.
QEV Analytics conducted The National Survey of American Attitudes on
Substance Abuse XI: Teens and Parents from March 9 to April 30, 2006. The
firm interviewed at home by telephone a nationally representative random
sample of 1,297 12- to 17-year olds (591 boys, 706 girls) and 562 parents
(84 percent of whom were parents of teens surveyed). Sampling error is +/-
three percent for teens, +/- four percent for parents.

Americans to commit to eating dinner together as a family on Family Day - A
Day To Eat Dinner With Your Children(TM) on Monday, September 25, 2006.
Visit http://www.FamilyTable.info to pledge to have dinner as a family on
Family Day. CASA created Family Day in 2001 as a national effort to promote
parental engagement as a simple, effective way to reduce youth substance
abuse and raise healthier children. For more information, visit

CASA is the only national organization that brings together under one
roof all the professional disciplines needed to study and combat all types
of substance abuse as they affect all aspects of society. CASA has issued

TV Land & Nick at Nite's Family Table: Share More Than Meals was
created by the two networks in 2003 and seeks to remind its viewers about
the emotional and social benefits that come from taking the time to sit
down and share with one another. Through a series of promotional spots --
which both networks air in regular rotation daily -- the networks encourage
viewers to experience the benefits of dining together.
Pavan 09-19-2006, 11:58 PM Don't Tune-In to TV Land on September 25 at 6 p.m. (ET/PT)
Classic TV Network Pre-Empts Regular Programming to Encourage Families to
Eat Dinner Together on Family Day(TM)
NEW YORK, Sept. 19 -- As part of its commitment to Family
Day -- A Day To Eat Dinner With Your Children(TM), TV Land will pre-empt
regularly-scheduled programming and "go dark" on September 25, from 6 p.m.
to 7 p.m. (ET/PT) to encourage families to dine together. Over the last
several months, people committed to eating together on Family Day have been
registering participation at http://www.FamilyTable.info for their family,
friends and loved ones. The Family Day Dinner Hour will feature photos
submitted to the website of various families sharing meals and spending
time together. Packaged like a scrapbook, the hour will display montages of
the photos along with Family Day graphics, all set to easy-listening
Americana and Jazz music.
Findings from a new report released on September 19th by CASA and
sponsored by TV Land and Nick at Nite's Family Table -- The Importance of
Family Dinners III -- reveals that teens who have dinner together less than
three nights a week are more likely to have tried alcohol, tobacco and
marijuana. The study also reveals that the amount of dinners parents share
with their kids has a direct link to parental engagement and their
relationship with their teen, how well they know the parents of their
teen's friends, and the names of the children's teachers.
"Pre-empting TV Land's normal programming schedule is a symbolic
gesture on our part to remind families of the importance of eating dinner
together and sharing more than just meals at the table," states Larry W.
Jones, President, TV Land and Nick at Nite. "Supporting Family Day was a
natural fit for us and is just one part of TV Land and Nick at Nite's
overall commitment to furthering our viewers' education on the importance
of family dinners."
TV Land and Nick at Nite's Family Table: Share More Than Meals --
Classic TV's very first pro-social initiative -- has teamed up with The
National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) at Columbia
University to encourage Americans to register to pledge to have dinner as a
family on September 25th and, hopefully, use Family Day as a catalyst to
make family dinners a regular part of their lives. CASA's Family Day, which
was created in 2001, is a national effort designed to promote the benefits
that come from families dining together on a consistent basis.
TV Land & Nick at Nite's Family Table was created by the two networks
in 2003 and seeks to remind its viewers about the emotional and social
benefits that come from taking the time to sit down and share with one
another. Through a series of promotional spots -- which both networks air
in regular rotation daily -- TV Land and Nick at Nite have committed over
$11 million in on-air time annually to encourage viewers to experience the
benefits of dining together.

That's all the CASA Family Nite Stunt is;a stunt!Do they really beleive that by taking off all of Nick At Nite&Nite At Nite T.V.Land shows for all of those hours that that will slove all of the ills of these teenagers? How about putting on T.V. shows that doesn't insult their intellengent instead of the usuall teen dramas that shows nothing more than too good to be true teens in farces so unbeleiveable that even the teen themsleves rebel against such images. And don't get me started about Disney and other networks that carter to teens;what they know about teen they can write on a peice of toilet paper!Someone need to tell these people to wise up and stop trying to police everyone lives,in other words;MIND YOUR OWN :cuss: BUSINESS and see about their own kids;I bet their kids are suffering whild they are out trying to save the world, and I'm willing to be these people doesn't pratice what they preach!
