I remember a case where 2 women and a kid were driving along from dinner and they spotted a UFO...er...or what they thought was a UFO. Then the one woman stepped out to see what it was, then all these helicopters flaired. The thing is, they recieved illness. And one woman had radiation poisoning. I think the one woman's name was Julie?? Anyway, they got involved into a long hard legal battle.

Are they still alive today? Or are they dead....?:(

The middle-aged woman, Betty Cash, died a few years ago from various types of cancers. It is assumed that her encounter with the flying object caused her illnesses.

There were also others who witnessed the incident near Huffman, Texas. An off duty Dayton policeman and his wife were driving home from Cleveland through the Huffman area the same night. They observed a large number of double rotor Being CH-47 Chinooks, a special kind of the craft used by the Army and the Marines.

A man living in Crosby, directly under the flight path, also reported seeing a large number of heavy military helicopters flying overhead.

And Oilfield laborer Jerry McDonald was in his back garden in Dayton when he witnessed a large UFO flying over his head. At first he thought it was the goodyear airship, but quickly realized it was something else. "It was kind of diamond shaped and had two twin torches that were shooting brilliant blue flames out the back", he said. As it passed about 45 meters above him he saw that it had two bright lights on it and a red light in the center.

Oh wow...I had no idea that that was the area where all of this happened. I live really close to Huffman, Cleveland, and Crosby. Creepy.

What were these people's names again?

One thing eerie about this story is that Betty Cash died exactly 18 years to the day of when the incident took place.

I have always wondered what Colby remembers about that night and the following days, and if he has suffered any lastin effects from the radiation.

Now I also wonder if anyone else was exposed to radiation that night. This is one of those UM segments I have always remembered.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that Colby Landrum absolutely REFUSES to talk about the UFO incident today if anyone asks him and wants to put it completely behind him!

I noticed on his Facebook page that he has a daughter, which is great to see since I remember a doctor in the UM segment talking about how the radiation might affect Colby's ability to have children.

what about the grandmother, anyone know? at least I think that was his gma with him in the car.
I've always wondered what type of weapon that was,and how it came to be that it escaped, and how it was ultimately retrieved.or was it released as an experiment on purpose? I was really angry with the way Betty was questioned, yet never recieved any medical inf on what to do.

One more thought...if the gov't really thought Bin Laden was hiding in the caves, why didn't they bring that thing out and zap him???I beleive it was said somewhere it would go thru rock? at least I think I recall that.Either that or they could have sent some of that 'white rain' around his area from the goo segment.

According to the wiki page on the incident, Colby appeared as an interviewee in a documentary and talked about the incident. I'd love to check it out because I've heard similar stories about him angrily refusing to acknowledge it.

This History Channel episode is on yt. I'm not posting the link for obvious reasons but its under the username 'dennyfromspace' and it is divided under a few different segments. An interview with Colby is in it. Its listed "History Channel UFO Hunters 208 Alien Fallout 2009-2.avi" and it continues through part 3 and 4. Quite interesting.

I checked it out, thanks! It had a lot more information in it. For example, I had no idea that they wouldn't let people see Betty when she was initially being treated and were keeping her in a separate room in the basement of the hospital and were treating her while wearing gloves and coverings so as to avoid contamination

It was nice to see Betty's doctor interviewed again as well.

I'm not completly convinced this was a UFO as much as it was some type of secret defense weapon or equipment the army was testingthat Malfunctioned. I do believe something happened to expose them to radiation and it was covered up.

I agree,it sounds like a weapon that got away, and they were chasing it via helicopters.I wonder how long it took them (how would you rein something in like that via helicopters?),how far it went, and who all else got exposed. The 3 witnesses couldn't be the only ones.jmo.

A likely scenario! It would also explain the use of the chinooks, they would be used to pick up and bring back whatever they were chasing.

i wonder if the military abandoned this type of weapon after that.we havent heard or seen anything else about it,despite a few wars being fought in recent yrs.
unlike the 'white rain' which we know today to be chemtrails (or something similar).jat.

chinooks,I had forgotten about those! Seems that would be a good way to retrieve something as such.
This must have been covered up very, very well by the military. There were no reports of anyone else being sick or dying from this object, and you would think the pilots were likely exposed to even higher levels of rad. than Betty and the others,as it appears to have gotten away rather quickly, and I'm not sure they would have had time to don radiation suits prior to the chase.jat.
