According to this article, they hope to release it on DVD within the next 2 years.. but it probably won't have all the original music.

View Full Version : The fabulous soundtrack to "The Wonder Years" has kept the popular show off video TJ 07-12-2006, 10:30 PM According to this article, they hope to release it on DVD within the next 2 years.. but it probably won't have all the original music. http://www.denverpost.com/ci_4033777 Brian Damage 07-12-2006, 10:34 PM That's a shame. One of the things that made The Wonder Years so special was the classic soundtrack. I swear, that is going to be the downfall of sitcoms like WKRP and others. It is ridiculous. I would rather get bootleg copies w/ the original music! lol Zero 09-17-2006, 04:29 AM Well, thank the RIAA for this one. Jerks. Zero 09-17-2006, 04:32 AM Are you kidding me??? I would rather get bootleg copies w/ the original music! lol Yes, I too. There are several available. Some with really flashy art work and interactive menus and some that were recorded right off of tv with commercials edited out, claiming to be of good quality. Buffyboy323 09-17-2006, 05:16 PM My cousin has the record. Yes I said RECORD!!!! canuckkidd 12-03-2006, 09:27 PM If this is the case I am not going to bother buying the DVD. It's the same reason I have not bothered to buy the 90210 DVD. The music was a huge part of the show. Great timeless classics that you can listen to forever. macphoen 12-13-2006, 03:17 PM Just a quick heads-up that an open feedback thread has been started over on Home Theater Forum to convince Fox Home Entertainment to keep the short, first season's music intact, so if you would like to join and leave feedback, the link is below: http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf/showthread.php?p=3038301#post3038301 Studios, like Fox, do read what gets posted, so it is hoped that they will listen and do something similar to what Shout Factory did with "Freaks and Geeks". jayman75 04-05-2007, 10:04 PM Can someone explain to me the copyright laws on the music. What I'm wondering is did the "I" Network pay for music rights? Or, is it different to air something on television as opposed to DVD? |
