We're ordering a pizza for dinner, and my husband once again wanted to get anchovies as a topping. If those smelly things are anywhere near the pizza, even on half, the smell ends up all over the pizza.

You would think that after almost 21 years of marriage, he'd get it by now. I did compromise. I'm ordering a sub and he's getting a small anchovie pizza. I'm all heart.

The anchovies are still too close to my sandwich. He can eat the pizza in another room, lol.

I agree!! I love anchovies, pepperoni and mushrooms. The pizza place that we go to knows my order when I walk in!! LOL!! Yummy!! Now I am hungry for pizza!!

Try a slice of pizza with anchovies and pineapple. I know it sounds terrible, but it's pretty good. The pineapple cancels the saltiness of the anchovies.

I only like pepperoni, extra cheese, canadian bacon, ham, and sausage on my pizzas. I don't mind anchovies so much - although I'd much rather they be left off the pizza if at all possible- but I despise olives.

I remember the old Nickelodeon show "What Would You Do" and on it some girl ate Rice Krispies topped with anchovies; the reason for this is supplied with a minute or two of research on Wikipedia. That looked so gross.

While I was subbing a computer class in early 2004, my co-workers ordered a pizza for all of us for lunch. I didn't realize the pizza they ordered had anchovies because I was subbing during that time and didn't know about the ordered pizza until I finished my sub session. They weren't that noticeable on the pizza. Needless to say, I didn't like the pizza with the fish. It was too salty and overpowering. I only ate one slice (not even a slice...more like a couple of bites) until I realized I didn't like the taste. Then I decided to stop eating it and get something else for lunch. It wasn't tasty at all for me. puke:

I kind of understand your situation though, Janice. Sort of. My wife freaks out about black olives and hates when I order them on half of the pizza. She's always afraid that there will be an olive hidden on her side. Oh No, An OLIVE!!!!:crazy:

The problem with anchovies on half a pizza is that once the pizza box is shut, it steams that fish smell onto the entire pizza. Anchovies have such a strong smel....STINK!

Yeah, when too many toppings are added, it's not really a pizza anymore. There is no cheese or tomato sauce taste if there are 18 different toppings!

we make our own Pizzas at my house. We got a bread maker so we just go from there. It is very tasty and a lot healthier.

BTW my dad likes anchovies, but never gets them when we get Pizza out.

I liked anchovies when I tried them.

I also like black olives, peppers, corn and pepperoni and chicken, and most other things. I don't like beef or mushrooms, though, so wouldn't order a pizza with either of those on it.
