i know excitaly what u mean and Friday nights in the fall having the classic saturday morning fall preview cartoon weekend for couple hours or so let u know what cartoons are coming to your tvs this fall and on tomorrow and fall preview tv guides come out waking up at 8:00am or 7:00am watching.

I agree. Even when I was in my teens in the 80's I would watch cartoons on Saturday mornings with my little brother (he's in his 30's now!). Back then Saturday mornings and cartoons were synonomus! I also loved the cartoons that would come on after school around 3pm.

I lived through cartoons in the 80's and 90's, they had a lot of charisma and not only they showed new cartoons, but they showed the classics such as Bugs Bunny and Yogi Bear. Even the Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network Cartoons in the 90's had class (Not much, but by today's standards they are).

It was 2000's when cartoons officially sold-out!

I grew up on Popeye, the Flinstones, the Jetsons, Bugs Bunny/Roadrunner, Hanna-Barbera, etc. Every Saturday morning it was me and my brothers with our blankets and bowls of cereal.

If you want to check out a cool old cartoon, get Jonny Quest. It was only one season, but everyone I knew loved it and watched it.

I used to wake up Saturday morning aroun 6:30AM watch Davey and Goliath, then not stop watching cartoons until around noon.

Thundarr, Mighty Orbots, Blackstar, Fangface, Captain Caveman, Jabberjaw, Dynomutt, Turbo Teen, Superfriends, Tarzan/Super 7, The Godzilla Power Hour, Jana of the Jungle, Trollkins, Speed Buggy, all the versions of Scooby Doo....

I also loved the live-action stuff like-

The Krofft Supershow(Dr Shrinker, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl, Wonderbug, Magic Mongo, Big Foot and Wild Boy)

Lidsville, Land of the Lost,HR Pufnstuf, The Bugaloos, Sigmund and the Sea Monsters, Far Out Space Nuts, The Lost Saucer

Ark II, Shazam/Isis Hour, Space Academy, Jason of Star Command

Alvin & The Chipmunks, The Smurfs, the ALF cartoon, Jem, Pee-Wee's Playhouse, Muppet Babies, etc. Not only do I miss those shows, I just miss being a kid!!! :(

Boomerang is a decent classic cartoon channel- they play a wide range of 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's shows

I agree. We had Toon Disney and I wish the Walt Disney Corporation could make a Vault Disney Channel with classic Disney Shows as well as the cartoons we've seen on Toon Disney.

And I wish NickRewind becomes a station. That's why TV Shouldn't sell-out! There's still an audience for the classics rather than the reality shows!

I totally agree with your choices. Rocky & His Friends, Ruff &
Reddy, The Alvin Show, Linus the Lionhearted, The Bugs Bunny Show, The Flintstones, and
King Leonardo & His Short Subjects were all classic shows.

Other personal favorites from the late '50s and early '60s: Huckleberry
Hound, Quick Draw McGraw, Yogi Bear, Deputy Dawg, Top Cat, The Jetsons, Casper, Jonny Quest, Tennessee Tuxedo, Underdog and The Beatles cartoons.

I really don't miss that much. I grew up in the early nineties and was a teenager from 1997-2004, but I have no desire for Nickelodeon or Disney Channel to go back to what they once were. That's really what seperates me from my peers, I really just have no desire to relive the shows I watched as a kid because they were repeated to death when they aired. That's sort of the curse of growing up in the era of cable television, you saw stuff a lot.

I really have to disagree with my peers when they say they dislike Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato or Selena Gomez. So they weren't on the Disney Channel when we were teenagers, so what? It's not like they're tainting your childhood.

Saturday morning wasn't just a time in my life, it was a part of it. I remember sleeping over at friends houses, then getting up and watching the Sat. Morning lineups, then spending the rest of the day playing outside, going on adventures, or simply playing with our GI Joes/Transformers/Mask toys in the backyard. Saturday morning cartoons were a slice of those cherished weekends as a kid. I have a decent size collection of cartoon blocks with commercials from the 80s, and I cherish them all. It's like stepping into a time machine to the best times of my life.
As for the older cartoons, I LOVED Rocky and Bulwinkle, the Pink PAnther, the Jetsons, Flintstones and Fat Albert when they used to show Reruns in the 80's. In fact, my son now loves watching Tom and Jerry and Wacky Races on Boomerang, and he's been getting into some of the other older stuff too. He's totally abandoned the cartoons he used to watch (Spongebob, Fairly Odd PArents, stuff like that). Guess that says something about the classics!

yeah some days was good it was fun waking up on saturdays seeing good shows and cartoons and we else be on for new fall year now it sucks i try not to think about it though.
