I was wondering if the complete Cheers theme intro is used on the DVD sets? Remember the intro in the original NBC broadcasts? "Making your way in the world today takes every thing you've got taking a break from all your troubles sure would help a lot, wouldn't you like to get away". That intro is often cut out of the syndicated versions and on TV Land.

Hey!
To answer your question, yes, the Cheers DVDs do have the full length theme song.

The DVD editions of "CHEERS" feature UNCUT episodes, including the complete one minute opening title for virtually every episode. Unfortunately, Paramount believes in "shaving" away as much time as possible in each episode for additional commerical breaks in syndication and cable rebroadcasts (about two and a half minutes). And that goes for the opening title as well....and THAT means a 30 second version. They did that on "TAXI" as well.

Unfortunately I don't have the DVD's. But I was able to download the full version of the Cheers theme song by Gary Portnoy, onto iTunes, and then onto my iPod. (I also looked up the complete version of the Friends theme by Michael Ball). I have that as well.
I like the Cheers theme. It's one of those songs that if I'm feeling a bit down, it makes me feel better.
