I remember seeing that Three's Company Season Season 8 will come out on DVD on October 10th (I can't remember where I found it) but I thought there is only 7 seasons unless Three's A Crowd counts as the 8th season...

The show's short first season began in the Spring of '77 and there were only 6 episodes. The second season began in the fall of '77. You'd count from 77-84 for a total of 8 Seasons.

Happy Days, All in the Family, The Jeffersons, and a few others are the same way, all being mid season replacements for there first seasons. They had more than 6 episodes, but you get what I am saying

Funny how mid-season replacements can turn out to be so successful and IMO some of the best TV shows ever! :D Oh, and last for so long too! :)

ive always had a therory that the network almost always save there best shows for midseason because if you look at the history of tv like pretty in pink was saying midseason show always tend to last longer then fall show even whats my line was a mid season show back during the 49/50 season and lasted all the way until 1967

I don't think so, there are so many more failures for mid season than sucesful. Out of about 10 or 20 that air in January I would say way more than half don't come back for a second.

What I meant to comment on was how it's odd how sometimes mid-season replacements can be so successful, and outlast other shows.
It seems like shows had more lasting power back then. Now they cancel shows left and right. *AHEM*

I agree with you prettyinpink, in the old days they would try switching days or times before cancelling them outright.

Well technically you can say there was a 9th season of TC. the second part of the final episode spread over two seasons- so you can actually say season 9 had 1 episode.
