Anybody watch this tonight?

It reminded me of VH1's pop up video. Where they'd throw in an fyi blurb "This dancer appears in two other Madonna videos and is married to her brother".

I'm a little disappointed. I was hoping that it would be a little more indepth but to many times the pop ups just mentioned the mundane "he's presided over 300 criminal trials", "this case got a lot of local media attention" there were some good ones, some boring ones and some humerous one but over all I thought it could have been cripser.

Ditto about it being similar to VH-1's "Pop Up Video"...:lol:

It was interesting but like you I wish they would have had better information although some of it was pretty good.

I wish they would show the older Forensic Files back when it was called "Medical Detectives". There are some interesting ones like the family who was sickened after drinking tainted lemonade and the woman who killed her girl babies (but didn't harm the infant boy) and wrapped them up in garbage bags and discarded them all the while claiming an intruder had taken them. They were able to prove the bags came from a roll in her house. I haven't seen them in ages and I'd like to tape them.

I saw it and thought it was pretty good. I liked that they threw in obscure info in the popups, stuff that would never make sense if the narrator read it, like the serial number of the Rolex watch. That's the episode I saw, the one about the guy who assumed the identity of his friend in England before murdering him once the friend and his wife returned to England from Canada. He might have gotten away with it other than the minor blunder of not removing the Rolex watch before anchoring and dumping the body.

BTW, by far the best popup video I ever saw was maybe late '90s when Playboy did a takeoff on the VH1 gag. The Playmate of the Year was Karen McDougal and one segment of her video featured the popups describing various aspects of her physique. :lol:

I LOVED this!!! I thought this was the best thing since, well, since Forensic Files!!! I hope this is going to be on every week, because I just thought it was so clever and fun. The only thing I didn't like about it was that I always keep the captions on, and sometimes some of the "pop-ups" hide behind the captioning. Other than that, I thought it was perfect.

Sometimes they show a photo or a place, and you know somewhere in your mind that this is the person when they were young, or this is the place where the body was found, but you don't know... these little messages are just perfect to clear it up, without destroying the flow of the narrative.

There have been over three hundred episodes of FF, so if they do this to all of them, it will give those of us who have seen most of them, a reason to take another look!
