1. The series finale wedding is awful. It's nice seeing Kotter again, but still it is awful. Why not have them do something different than a wedding. Or why have Horseshack? It's is simply awful. Even worse it is a two parter. Why not have them go to college or something. A wedding is just stupid. (I always thought something was wrong (if you know what I mean) with Horseshack and that helped me to think he is not all he seems to be-lol

2. The twins, Kotter was great at the school, besides Julie I don't really care about his home life.

BTW Solomon, if you see this I am currently downloading Washington's clone episode for you. As of now it's 80.3% done.

Ok Good maybe we can set up another trade. The guy who is trying to imitate Washington do u recognize him from any other TV shows? Also the two things I wished never happened was

1) Having Julie as a teacher

2)adding another sweathogg

When both Gabe Kaplan and John Travolta left the show, it was all downhill
from there. It wasn't the same show and (in my opinion) they should have just
called it quits right there.

I was soooooo annoyed with Julie...I never could get into that character, she was annoying, boring and when she tried to be funny, it wasn't funny. I didn't care much for the home life of Mr. Kotter. Somehow, it would have been cool to have him either be single or maybe living at home taking care of his older father, a character similar to Abe Vigoda's "Fish".

Okay, maybe not:D .They should have moved on to trade school or something(Epstein and Washington might have gone on to something higher).

When Washington gets addicted to those pain pills he was hurt playing basketball so maybe he could have gone professional in it?

As for Epstein gang leader is the only thing I can think of-lol

Gabe Kaplan suggested they do that, and have Mr. Kotter reluctently become their teacher again; then theyld go on with it that way for at least another 4 seasons; and they would be more beleviable in those roles. But, "the powers that be" didn't listen.

Epstein could have been a ghost writer, since he liked writing all those notes from his mother.

If he was late for work he could still have it signed "Epstein's Mother"

Some of those guys should've been shot for that stuff, I remember on True Hollywod Stories, Beau was saying that Robert Heyges saw on of the scripts and burned it.

Yeah, they never should have created that character. He really didn't belong there.

Two more words MARY JOHNSON She was as boring as Julie Kotter. Horshack did not need to get married while still in high school.

They did not write Julie Kotter very well. She, like other TV wives, was treated as sounding boards for their husbands where it turn into "honey how was your day." I thought Marcia Strassman was a good actress but it was how the character was written.

I think the actress who played Freddie's Girlfriend left to star on the 1977 Sitcom Carter Country

The Beau character was stupid for the simple fact that HE WAS OUT OF PLACE. What were they thinking abt putting a "southern guy" in with a bunch of sweathogs?

I really liked Julie. It was TPTB that did nothing with that character until teh baby storyline and even after that, she was back to doing nothing until she started teaching at the school. It was a shame that it was discovered that one of the producers of the show was creating conflict between Marcia and Gabriel for almost four years. The two found out and began getting along making the producer somewhat aggravated.

The Sweathogs were not College Material-lol

True, and that's why IMO it would have been a great set up for some fresh premises.

Think about it: The Sweathogs could pledge a stuffy fraternity ala Animal House or we could see how hilarious Barbarino doing his "Barbarino" dance at a stuffy college mixer or Horshack trying to join the ROTC or whatever.

The fish out of water thing is one of the most used comedic devices and I think the Sweathogs in college could have given the show a new lease on life creatively speaking.

Of course, in typical sitcom fashion, Woodman would suddenly end up as the school's dean and Kotter as a teacher/assistant.

I think Gabe Kaplan should have put his bruised pride over the creative direction and his ego aside and tried to make the best of season four. Maybe if he'd been involved and worked with Komack and the new writers things could have been different.

And the wedding episode was not the finale - it was the one where Epstein and Washington have a half-assed boxing match over a job they both tried for. We see an already and happily married Arnold and Mary at work at their print shop.

Yeah, that would have comic potential. I could see Arnold in the delivery room, getting a gander and turning away in horror "Oh my God!! Oooh!! Ooohh!! Oooooh!!"

They never should have added Beau to the cast. I think it would have worked a lot better with just Arnold, Washington and Epstein. Sure it sucked that Vinnie wasn't around that much anymore, but the other sweathogs were funny too. There just wasn't any chemistry with Beau and the other sweathogs.

That and the fact that the show was built around the chemistry between the Kotter character and the Sweathogs. Take Kotter and Barbarino out, the show's hurting already. Add in Beau and well...we all know how that turned out.

I won't even watch the later episodes with Beau in them! The show became drab and boring with Vinnie and Gabe not there--it was kind of like trying to sit through a sucky spin-off of WBK that happened to still have some of the original cast members...

Never understood why so many producers felt the need to REPLACE when a actor leaves instead of EXPANDING the roles of the remaining characters on the show.
