Just saw it the other night. Fred was suspicious of the card sharks that Lamont was playing cards with. He was using the fly swatter as a signal to Lamont. Then Fred goes ballistic and starts swatting all the guys at the table.
I literally laughed out loud.

Yeah, that was funny, and I like the part after that where Fred is pouring the drinks and he's trying to look over those guy's shoulders to see their cards and he starts singing that Frank Sinatra song and he changes the words: "Quarter to the three threes, no one in the place has got less than thee, so,throw'em in Joe, this little story can save you some doe, so throw'em in Joe, Throw them in Jooooe."

Plus, when Fred pours the drinks, he gives only Skeeter a full glass of straight booze and says "bottoms up."

Probably because it looked like somthing that Fred added to the episode himself-lol Doesn' look like that was in the script

What really cracked me up about that scene was that Fred was whacking the crap out of those guys with the fly swatter. I think Solomon's right that Redd did it himself. When I say I laughed out loud, I'm not kidding. My husband was asleep next to me, and my laughing woke him up.
I'd love to see it again and for my husband to see it too. I told him about it the next day, and he was laughing as I was explaining it.

I know, that scene looked so real and not scriptred. I was like why is Fred slapping the sh*t out of everyone with the fly swatter?-LOL-LOL

just wanted to point out that I have the Steptoe and Son episode this is based on and I don't remember them doing a fly swatter gag on it.
