Anyone have this set? I'm curious as to how many discs it is on and what the quality is. I have seen people posting it as 118 eps on 8 dvds - does this seem overly compressed to anyone else?

Thanks from J&J Collectibles How can any show that has more than 15 episodes crammed on a disc be 9/10 quality???? scottdvd 07-06-2006, 06:40 PM The 7 disc set is not complete and has 1 entire episode with no sound. digitalmonkey 07-06-2006, 06:57 PM The 7 disc set is not complete and has 1 entire episode with no sound.  Dragonbear 07-06-2006, 07:28 PM So that brings up an interesting question. How many episodes on a DVD is too many? I've heard people say that they could stuff 6-7 episodes on a dvd and it still end up great quality. And some have said 4 is pushing it. Most of the retail DVD's I've seen at max put 4 hour long episodes or 8 half an hour episodes on a DVD. Now with compression technology I could see that this could be flummoxed a little bit though I wonder just what people think is quality over quantity? anglemark10 07-07-2006, 12:13 AM Is there a set in existance that has the opening and closing credits present for every episode? Mister Ed 07-07-2006, 12:48 PM Is there a set in existance that has the opening and closing credits present for every episode? Isn't that how the show airs on TV? thehound 07-09-2006, 10:00 AM The set is compete I have wacthed all the epsiodes and all of them have sound thehound 07-09-2006, 10:01 AM If you like to send you a disk to prove it. I have traded quite a few of these sets and everyone that has gotten it is amazed at how good it looks scottdvd 07-09-2006, 03:17 PM The set is compete I have wacthed all the epsiodes and all of them have sound The 7 disc set that has been going around for years is incomplete as I have already stated. I highly doubt another 7 disc set different from the original one made has surfaced. There have been other higher disc count sets made that are complete. The quality on the 7 disc set varies but no way would I rate the whole set above a 7.0/10. A few episodes are almost unwatchable. Here are the missing episodes that I know of for sure, could be more but these are not on the 7 disc set. episode #69 the wonder years episode #104 new years episode #108 hulk around Here is the episode that has NO sound. episode #38 the tree house Episodes 111 and 112 are horrible quality. If someone has the 7 disc set you can verify this for yourself. Some of the episodes are not too bad to look at but all look very compressed as you would expect. As Loren has already stated the 17 disc set is better quality but even on that set some of those episodes were lifted directly from the 7 disc set. |
