According to Variety, it's official. Jack Bauer will be heading to a theater near you. Well, assuming that the megahit TV series doesn't flop anytime soon.
Fox has finalized a production deal with the creative force behind the Kiefer Sutherland-starrer and awaits a script from series creators Robert Cochran and Joel Surnow. The current plan is to film during the shooting hiatus between season 6 and 7 (next Summer) with a theatrical release of Summer 2008.
No word on what characters will be in the movie as that could spoil the next two seasons of the hit TV show, but early signs indicate that the movie will ditch the real-time format of the show focusing instead on Sutherland's Jack Bauer.
