Here is the info from Sitcomsonline.com:
Rue McClanahan has signed on for a sitcom pilot for the Here! network, B&C reports. Here! is a gay TV channel. The show, which it targeted for a 2007 launch, will feature McClanahan as the "crazy and wise" grandmother of a gay teenager "coming of age and coming out." The network describes the veteran actress (The Golden Girls, Maude) as having a strong fan base in the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community. The six-episode series is based on a short film from writer Nick Wauters, who will also pen the series

I don't know I really can't see RUE doing a role like this, but this proves that she is a great actress(even that she is a good actress), but can do comedy & Drama.Plus it's good to see Rue is still acting.

I found out a little more information about the new show. It is tentatively titled Ryan's Life (maybe a play on the old soap Ryan's Hope?) and will debut next year.

I can't wait to see Rue in her new show in 2007. I'm looking forward to seeing it. When does this show begin in 2007? Early '07 or Late '07?

I haven't seen more news on this.

"Ryan's Life" is the name of a short film that was produced (independent film) and I believe it was very popular. It ran in festivals. This series was going to be based on that with the same characters, etc.

I don't know what happened to it, whether it will air. Quite a while ago I emailed Here! and they said they planned for it to air later on in the year. But that time has come and I would think that there would be an announcement of some sort.

Please don't scrap the project!
