ION MEDIA NETWORKS AND SONY PICTURES TELEVISION ANNOUNCE PROGRAMMING AGREEMENT FOR TV SERIES AND FEATURE FILMS

(West Palm Beach, FL and Culver City, CA – July 5, 2006) – ION Media Networks, Inc. (AMEX: ION) and Sony Pictures Television (“SPT”) today announced a programming agreement that provides ION with the rights to broadcast dozens of classic television series and a large selection of award-winning feature films from the Sony library on the i television network, reaching over 90 million homes.

“This agreement reflects our strategy of strengthening our i network’s programming schedule with popular series and theatrical hits with proven audience appeal,” said Brandon Burgess, CEO of ION Media Networks. “We look forward to working with Sony on developing a compelling entertainment line-up that continues to appeal to our current audience, while attracting new viewers to the network.”

“The i network and its stations will benefit from a wide variety of titles from our extensive library of television series and feature films, which have proven to deliver audiences,” said John Weiser, president, distribution for Sony Pictures Television. “We are pleased to be in partnership with ION, helping them grow and making them a destination for great programming.”

Under the terms of the agreement, ION will have access to many of SPT’s most popular TV series from the last three decades, including “Charlie’s Angels,” “Starsky & Hutch,” “The Partridge Family,” “The Monkees” and “Silver Spoons,” among others.

In addition, titles from Sony’s extensive library of theatrical films will be available to ION, including “A River Runs Through It,” “Oliver!,” “Bram Stoker’s Dracula,” “Short Circuit” and many more.

“We are pleased to have access to Sony’s diverse collection of movies and classic TV shows” said Stacey Nagel Galper, ION’s Senior Vice President of Programming and Strategic Planning. “We will begin scheduling the Sony movies on the i network this month, with plans to launch the television series in August.”

Cool info! TV Land aired it all too briefly, and I'd really love to see some of the 4th and 5th season episodes again... so hopefully the i network will give it a good timeslot.

Wow! That's AWESOME NEWS! I've been dying to see my Angels again ever since TVLand took them off. I'd buy the DVDs but I'm possibly the brokest teenager ever to exist.

I'm liking the episodes for the marathon. "Angels in Chains" is surprisingly missing, but that's also the 4th episode of the series, so they probably didn't want to air it in the marathon and again a few days later.

"Pom Pom Angels" and "Terror on Ward One" are two of my favorites and I'm looking forward to seeing the others as well!

MY ANGELS ARE BACK!

Prevent man from setting two families at war.Wow, they picked two of the worst season 4 & 5 episodes for the marathon. I would've gone with 'Angel Hunt' from season 4 and 'Attack Angels' from season 5.

Still, I'm just thrilled that the series is getting some attention on its 30th anniversary, and that it's finally going to be airing regularly again (and in a primetime slot, no less).

“CHARLIE’S ANGELS” RETURNS TO PRIMETIME EVERY WEEKNIGHT ON i

Celebrating Its 30th Anniversary, the Classic Hit Series Kicks Off Its Return to Broadcast Television with a Weekend Marathon Featuring All Six Angels

( West Palm Beach , FL – September 11, 2006) – “Charlie’s Angels,” the 1970s groundbreaking series that follows the adventures of three beautiful female private eyes, will debut on i with a special “Angels Weekend” on Friday, September 22nd and Saturday, September 23rd from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET/PT. Marking the 30th anniversary of the series, which debuted on September 22, 1976, the “Angels Weekend” on i will feature all six angels, including original cast members Jaclyn Smith, Kate Jackson and Farah Fawcett, as well as Cheryl Ladd, Shelley Hack and Tanya Roberts.

Produced by the late Aaron Spelling, “Charlie’s Angels” will air regularly on i every Monday through Friday at 9 p.m. ET/PT beginning Monday, September 25th.

The show featured mysterious millionaire Charles Townsend, voiced over by John Forsythe, who hired secret agents Kelly (Smith), Sabrina ( Jackson ) and Jill (Fawcett) to act as operatives for his own private investigation agency. Together with John Bosley (David Doyle) as their assistant and liaison, the former police officers often went undercover to solve the toughest of cases using their wits, skills and beauty.

When Fawcett left the show after only one season, Ladd joined the agency as Jill’s rookie sister, Kris. Jackson ’s departure followed after season three, which opened the door for Hack as Tiffany, an Ivy League scholar and police academy graduate. Hack appeared for one year before being replaced by Rogers, who played model-turned-detective Tiffany for the final season of the show.

“Charlie’s Angels’” anticipated return to broadcast TV follows the recent reunion of the original three angels, who together paid special tribute to Spelling, on the 2006 Emmy Awards telecast last month.

The i network is available in more than 90 million homes via local broadcast stations, cable and satellite.

It was definitely nice seeing the "Angels" on "i" this weekend. Was it just me, or did the audio/video not match up on these episodes?

I watched the Green Acres Xmas episode tonight, and I noticed that the audio/video was not a complete match.

Ever since Pax TV sold out to this channel, it hasn't been the same . Their lineup really stinks! I myself used to watch it but only for 'It's A Miracle' with Richard Thomas.:) Now, they don't even have that on. They bumped it off with some other senceless show. Their lineup isn't family oriented anymore either. 'I' having 'Fatal Arrtaction' on their movie lineup isn't what I would call 'family oriented. With PAX TV, you never had to worry about what your children watched. Their programming was very family oriented. Having 'Touched by An Angel' on twice a day along with 'It's A Miracle':). That's family programming. Even now TVland is getting cute. I really wish they would bring back 'The Waltons':)
