This sitcom is about three recent college graduates who now must enter the real world of life. The three guys have been buddies ever since middle school. The three buddies are Andrew Coleman (Will Estes), Kyle Rowland (Jesse Metcalfe), and Tyler Philipps (Sean Faris). Andrew, Kyle, and Tyler recently graduated from Michigan State University, all with Bachelor Degrees in Business Majors. One of the first things they decide to do after graduation is to buy a house and turn it into one big bachelor pad for the three lifelong friends. Tyler, Andrew, and Kyle each have difficulties adapting to "the life in the real world" now after graduating from college. The guys are often joined by their newly-divorced and "surrogate dad" next-door neighbor, Frank (Barry Williams), and Tyler's younger sister, Stacy (Bethany Joy Lenz) also is Andrew's steady girlfriend of one year.

Ep1: Pilot Episode:
Tyler, Andrew, and Kyle move in and get settled into their new house with help from Stacy and other friends. Frank befriends the guys and invites the three new neighbors "and their ladies" over for a barbecue. Of course, Andrew brings his girlfriend Stacy, as where Tyler and Kyle try to find dates for Frank's Saturday Night barbecue. Everythings hunky-dory up until Tyler and Kyle show up with their new dates for the evening (both are strippers).
Ep2: Bachelorhood:
Frank takes Andrew, Kyle, and Tyler out for a "Guys Night Out" to celebrate the divorce being finalized. But before the guys leave, Tyler and Stacy get in an argument and Andrew sides with his buddy Tyler instead of girlfriend Stacy. Stacy becomes upset with Andrew, which causes Andrew to be a "downer" when with the guys. Also, Kyle pulls some strings and hooks Frank up with an old girlfriend of his, Pamela (Tara Reid).
Ep3: The Next Morning:
The guys learn that Pamela spent that night over at Frank's house. The guys are happy that Frank "got laid" by Pamela, but Pamela makes a comment in front of Frank, Kyle, and Tyler about how she thinks Frank's better in bed than Kyle. Kyle is shocked and tries his hardest to prove he's the best in bed. Meanwhile, Andrew talks to Stacy and convinces her that he's sorry. She accepts his apology and everything goes back to normal between them.

Stacy and Tyler's rich mom, Jane (Wendie Malick) pays a long-overdue visit to her two children. Jane gives Tyler a hard time about not having a steady job or a steady girlfriend. Jane gives Stacy an ultimatum: leave Andrew and come back with Jane OR she will lose her money given for tuition. Stacy is furious with her mom, and refuses to leave Andrew and college, but doesnt want to lose Jane's money for her college tuition. Stacy stands up to her mom, as Tyler becomes a weak wuss and doesnt stand up to their mom.
Ep5: To Move In Or Not To Move In:
Frank and Pamela decide to move in with each other after only dating a few weeks. Meanwhile, Andrew and Stacy go on a double date with Kyle and his new girlfriend, Amanda (Larissa Oleynick). Stacy and Amanda hit it off great, until they go to the "little girls room" together. While there, Stacy learns Amanda has her eyes set on the waiter. Amanda ends the double date early but leaving with the hunky waiter, devastating Kyle...until Andrew cheers him up by showing him a hot girl at the bar.
Ep6: Party Disasters:
Stacy, Andrew, and Kyle decide to throw Tyler a surprise 23rd birthday party. Stacy invites the guests and gets the decorations, Andrew gets the food and beverages, and Kyle decides to get a stripper---who happens to turn out to be not a stripper but a hooker. Tyler has the time of his life at the party, but he is the last to know the stripper is actually a hooker. Tyler and the stripper/hooker end up in the bedroom together, during the alterglow: Tyler is handed a receipt for "the deed" which caused $425.
Ep7: Return Of The Ex:
Frank's ex-wife, Susan (Jennifer Coolidge) returns in hopes of making amends with her ex-hubby, but soon learns he is living with his new girlfriend (Pamela)-which infuriates her. A hot and bothered Susan becomes the object of Kyle's newfound affection. Kyle asks Susan out, she accepts. Susan and Kyle end up at the same restaurant as Frank and Pamela (who are celebrating a month of dating) and only a table away from each other. Meanwhile, Tyler and Andrew begin to look for real jobs with help from Stacy.
Ep8: Job Interviews:
Tyler gets hired on the spot at his new job interview at an advertizing agency. Meanwhile, Andrew gets a rejection letter in the mail a day after his interview. Tyler wants to celebrate with the gang: (Kyle, Stacy, Andrew, Frank, Pamela), but things don't go too smoothly. Andrew becomes jealous of Tyler getting his new job, and Frank gets mad at Kyle for him dating Susan now.
Ep9: Four Down To Two:
Frank and Kyle unfortunely lose their women. Susan dumps Kyle, because she just wanted to hurt Frank. Pamela moves out of Frank's house and life, because she begins to feel smothered by Frank. Frank and Kyle drown their sorrows in liquor, as Stacy tries to perk up an unmotivated Andrew in search for a job. Meanwhile, Tyler begins his first day at his new advertizing job.
Ep10: First Week Jitters:
Tyler soon falls head over heels for his boss's secretary, Katie (Jessica Biel). Katie decides to befriend Tyler and show him the dos and donts of their office. Meanwhile, Kyle gets set up with a model, Arianna (Nicky Hilton) who is perfect for him in everyway possible...especially in the bedroom! Also, Andrew scores an interview at a major PR firm in Detriot--which perks him up greatly.

Andrew gets the job at the PR firm. Andrew takes Kyle, Tyler, and Stacy out to a fancy restaurant to celebrate. Things couldn't get any better, until Kyle sees Arianna at the bar across the street with her girlfriends. Kyle wants to join his "new love", but when he witnesses another guy hitting on an uninterested Arianna, Kyle comes to her rescue.
Ep12: Office Affairs:
Tyler walks in on his boss, Jules (Jane Seymour) having an office affair with the hunky maintenance man. Jules bribes Tyler to keep quiet by offering a hefty raise in pay. Tyler rejects the raise, but suggests to go out on a date and "have their own office affair". Jules is thrilled to know Tyler won't tell anyone, and accepts the offer to "go out". Meanwhile, Stacy and Andrew ponder over their future together (discussing marriage, careers, children, etc.)
Ep13: Saturday Night Hunks:
Arianna (Nicky Hilton) decides to surprise Kyle and his buddies by signing Kyle, Tyler, and Andrew up for a male stripper competition. Stacy eagerly watches with Arianna (meanwhile the two girls bond and laugh at the guys' expenses). Tyler, Kyle, and Andrew at first aren't too sure of the idea, but after scanning the audience of pretty girls, they agree to it.

Andrew talks with Kyle and Tyler about his thinking of proposing to Stacy, the guys are all for it. Andrew asks Kyle if he and Arianna would come with him to pick out a ring, b/c Arianna might know what Stacy would like in an engagement ring. The jeweler mistakes Arianna as Andrew's soon-to-be fiancee, and decides to give them a secret discount. Kyle grins and bears it for Andrew who likes the idea of getting an discounted price. Meanwhile, Frank ponders what the future holds for him.
Ep15: Returning To Her:
Frank decides to reconnect with an equally unhappy Susan (Jennifer Coolidge), as they plan to go out for dinner one night. Frank and Susan end up in bed together the next morning, and decide to get back together. Meanwhile, Tyler gets furious with Kyle, because he scratched up Tyler's most prized possession: his car.

Arianna's dad, Jack (Mark Harmon) is running for Governor of Michigan. Arianna and Kyle decide to lend a helping hand to Jack and his posse of assistants. While there, Kyle and Arianna find out Jack's new "lady friend" is none other than Jane (Wendie Malick)-Tyler and Stacy's mom. Meanwhile, Frank informs Tyler, Andrew, and Stacy that he and Susan are back together...and their plans of moving to California.
Ep17: Finding Out:
Tyler and Stacy (and Andrew) learn that Jane is dating Arianna's dad. Later that day, Jane calls and arranges a dinner with her kids, Jack, and Arianna. Jack and Jane are joined by Tyler, Stacy, and Arianna, where they announce they are getting married next month. Meanwhile, Kyle and Andrew go out to a nudie bar, where they bump into Frank and a friend.

Jack and Jane's wedding day has came. Everything is going smoothly, until the priest dies minutes before the wedding. Which means they would have to wait a week or more to get a new priest there to fill in for the deceased priest, until the guys call Frank and inform him about the crisis. Frank returns within seconds with his laptop, and with help from Stacy and Kyle--Frank gets ordained over the internet. Frank saves the day and ends up marrying Jack and Jane.
Ep19: The Proposal:
Stacy and Andrew go out to dinner, where he proposes to Stacy who accepts within seconds. Stacy and Andrew share the news with the gang. They decide to hold off the wedding until after Stacy graduates from college in the next couple months. Meanwhile, Stacy is shocked that her usually belittling mother is extremely happy for her only daughter getting married.
Ep20: Moving Out:
Meanwhile, Frank and Susan ask the guys to help them move their stuff into the moving truck. But while moving, Andrew and Stacy find Frank's house actually appealing (without Frank's stuff inside). On impulse, they ask Frank for an estimate, as where he decides to knock off $200 (because they are friends of his). They accept it , and decide to start moving their stuff inside the house next door (without even talking to Tyler or Kyle).
[CHANGE IN CAST: Barry Williams "Frank" and Jennifer Coolidge "Susan" are written out of the cast, but Wendie Malick "Jane" and Mark Harmon "Jack" are written into the permanent cast.]
Ep21: Right Next Door:
Andrew and Stacy announce they are moving into Frank's old house to their friends. Kyle and Tyler are happy for them, but then Kyle asks Tyler's approval for Arianna to move in with them (since Andrew is moving out). Tyler says sure. As Andrew moves out, Arianna moves in.
During the last minutes of the episode, the gang hears from the TV that Arianna's dad (Jack) is the newly-elected governor of Michigan.
Ep22: Big Daddy Hits Home Hard: PART ONE
Jack, along with Jane, takes Arianna, Stacy, Tyler, Kyle, and Andrew out for a celebration dinner at a very fancy and exclusive restaurant. Before dinner, Tyler comes across one of the girls' purses (Stacy or Arianna), and ends up knocking it over-spilling everything. He finds a home pregnancy test inside. Tyler takes it upon himself to "investigate" if it was either his sister or Arianna.
Ep23: Big Daddy Hits Home Hard: PART TWO
Tyler is completely stunned and speechless when he finds out firsthand that the purse belonged to Jane (his mother). Tyler has a talk with Jane, where she informs him (and later on, the rest) that she and Jack are indeed having a baby. The gang is happy yet concerned due to the fact that both Jack and Jane are in their mid-forties.
