Not me-lol MsOrange 06-28-2006, 03:35 PM this is your best thread yet! TVFactFan 06-28-2006, 03:45 PM this is your best thread yet! I deleted cause I couldn't find the link swedeace 06-28-2006, 03:49 PM I deleted cause I couldn't find the link I found a link, but I'm not sure it's the link you are referring: http://msn-cnet.com.com/U.S.+unprepared+for+Net+meltdown%2C+blue+chips+warn/2100-7348_3-6087470.html?part=msn-cnet&subj=ns_3-6087470&tag=tg_ns TVFactFan 06-28-2006, 04:20 PM I found a link, but I'm not sure it's the link you are referring: http://msn-cnet.com.com/U.S.+unprepared+for+Net+meltdown%2C+blue+chips+warn/2100-7348_3-6087470.html?part=msn-cnet&subj=ns_3-6087470&tag=tg_ns Yes that's the one and if there is a Internet outage I would pass out gilligan fanatic 06-28-2006, 04:24 PM I don't see it happening TVFactFan 06-28-2006, 04:25 PM I don't see it happening I hope not-lol James"Thunder"Early 06-28-2006, 04:26 PM It would be sort of hard for this to happen, as ISPs use different servers and such. It's highly unlikely enough ISP servers would crash to cause an outage. gilligan fanatic 06-28-2006, 04:32 PM I hope not-lol I betcha if it did you would be in the middle of a trade to get Checking In and you were about to send your address when the Internet goes down for good-lol TVFactFan 06-28-2006, 10:20 PM I betcha if it did you would be in the middle of a trade to get Checking In and you were about to send your address when the Internet goes down for good-lol Yeah that's the kind of luck I usually have-lol EmoJoe 06-28-2006, 10:30 PM i know i'm not...-_- Cactus Jack 06-28-2006, 10:46 PM i know i'm not...-_- Ditto  Brent88 06-30-2006, 02:57 AM I hope it doesn't happen(because I almost die when it goes out for 5 minutes  ), but I think it's highly unlikely. The internet is a massive place. Some portion of the population might not be able to use it(think of the 2003 Blackout), but I seriously seriously doubt it would go down for everyone or even the majority of people. Better Days 07-01-2006, 03:02 PM I assume the net's been backed up????? I know the important stuff has been. . robyrob 07-01-2006, 03:12 PM when you take into consideration that an overwhelming percentage of the users and servers on the internet are only maginally secure and have various gaping security holes, all it would really take is one well-designed virus. most virus writers aren't trying to take down the internet; they are attacking specific sites or servers, taking control of large numbers of machines for various reasons, or stealing information from specific machines - shutting down the internet would be counter-productive to what they are trying to do. |
