She was a bit too kooky. Plus, she never dressed sexy at all. She was always wearing Moo Moo's and ugly plastic jewelry. Maybe if Helen dressed a little nicer, Stanley would've been more attracted to her.

Well Helen should have been more creative like Peg Bundy-lol Peg would ENTICE AL by getting him the things he liked. His own BIG SCREEN TV, and a Remote. So Helen should have FAKED an interest in some of the things Stanley enjoyed like the ANDY CAPP Comics. lol

Why didn't HE have an interest in what she liked: SEX
maybe if he had just done it with her, the nagging would stop. He wouldn't know unless he tried. And besides, how she looked with the lights on doesn't make a difference. All cats look gray in the dark...

She had the worst wardrobe. What was up with that?

I liked Stanley. I would have gotten along with him. He was simple and easy to understand, not too complicated as a human being.

He might have had more of an interest, if she wore something that was a little tighter on the bod.

Brian, she didn't wear them moo moos to bed. Besides, why did she want it so bad from Stanley? my God what a pathetic little creature he was. She must have been desperate...

I don't know about that, but after awhile you need to spice things up. Mrs. Roper never tried.

I have to agree with you on that. Mrs. Roper was a nice lady, but she had seen better days. Her time had ticked. If she stopped wearing those gowns all the time, and put on some different clothes, maybe she would show some radiance. But even for the late 70s, she looked outdated. She looked like a gypsie queen from the 60s. LOL

I still have the image of her with those cucumbers on her eyelids. She told Stanley it was for wrinkles and he told her it was working, she had a bunch over there.

Mrs. Roper had a great body for someone her age. If you watch the episode from The Ropers when the trio goes over and helps Stanley with the surprise party, Helen comes home after being stuck in the toilet and she's wearing some nice fitting jeans that looked great on her. Also when she takes it all off with Janet we see she's not overweight at all. They should've had her wear some more fitted clothes and then maybe she would get Stanley to at least kiss her more often. lol

Same here, No real reason too-lol

I think Audra Lindley looks better than the lady who plays her character on Man About the House.
