Question for those whom have kids-

When you learned you were having kids and they grew older- what were some things you wanted to share with them?

I know my nieces the first thing I shared with them as they got older was Mary Poppins and Bedknobs and Broomsticks-
But as they got older- get older- there are so many classics I find I want to share with them-

So It made me wonder- what are some jewels from your childhood you really enjoyed sharing with your kids.

when they were real little i got them started watching THE HONEYMOONERS and BURNS AND ALLEN and ALL IN THE FAMILY

my youngest son used to call his sibilings MEATHEAD and RALPH MALPH and the other kids looked at him like he was from Mars or something

but at least, they grew up to appreciate older shows and were not hooked on FULL HOUSE or BIG BROTHER!

There is a adage that history repeats itself, and it sure did with me. When I was a kid my folks took me to all the Disney classics, Snow White, Cinderella, Pinochio, Bambi etc and when my kids were small I took them. When my son got older I took him to a theater in N.Y.C. that showed Charlie Chan movies as I watched them as a kid. The Wizard of Oz was a staple as was the Shirley Temple movies. My daughter liked musicals and as a youngster saw most of tthe Busby Berkley ones and so did I years before.

Definitely the 3 Stooges with both of my sons. I have 3 brothers and we imitated them all of the time when we were young! I have a question for all of the women. What's your opinion of the 3 Stooges? Through the years, I have found that the overwhelming majority of women can't stand them.

I'm just a new dad Of 3 month old boy so this don't pertain to me much yet. Although I look foward to sharing several shows (lone ranger, gunsmoke, 80's cartoon's) with my son. I do have a question to add to the post though. I'm a die hard Gunsmoke Fan. So I named my boy Nathaniel Matthew Dylan. My question is:
Is any other parent such a die hard tv fan that they gave their child the name (even in part) of their favorite tv charactor or actor?

What a fantastic question

I am fascinated with what replies this might get...

I have to admit a lot of "cool" names or names I really have liked towards children's names-I have heard from stars, or characters.

When I was 9- I loved the name Madison, from the character Splash.

My 3 children are named after 3 pretty famous people, albeit they are more known for their music than their TV appearances.

Daughter - Dylan
Son - Lennon
Daughter - Presley
