Okay everyone. Relax! According to an e-mail I just received from a TV Land representative, "Night Court" is under contract with them until 2010. Other shows have contracts that expire with TV Land much sooner. Therefore, "Night Court" is only going to be on hiatus because TV Land wants to give some of these other shows a chance to air before their contracts expire. (I guess a few are up very soon.) Think about. If TV land didn't do this, they'd be throwing some money away. So, they're trying to get the most out of their bucks. Otherwise, they'd be wasting money. Anyway, you can now all safely brush the sweat from your foreheads. Frankly, I'm pretty surprised I heard from a TV Land rep at all. Yet, I was pleased that it was good news. :)

From http://www.tvland.com/boards/viewthread.jhtml?bID=56&tID=129133&mID=626550&offset=0
Link gave a list of shows that are expiring in the next few months:

The Addams Family - Sept. 30, 2006
Not to be renewed

The Dick Van Dyke Show - Aug. 31, 2006
Not to be renewed

Green Acres - Aug. 31, 2006
Initial information is that it will be renewed

Happy Days - December 31, 2006
No decision made on renewal

Hunter - Sept. 31, 2006
No information on renewal available

MacGyver - December 31, 2006
No decision made on renewal

The Munsters - Oct. 31, 2006
No decision made on renewal

SCTV - Sept. 25, 2006
Not to be renewed

I'd expect there's a chance for NC to be back around Nov. 1, but that's just speculation on my part.

Thanks, NitCrt1!

Aww, too bad about The Dick Van Dyke Show, though. That's a *great* show! (IMO)

Some of those need 'the boot', The Addams Family is only shown ONCE A WEEK, or was....

They had to stretch Addams Family. It only lasted two seasons hence the once a week showings. The Dick Van Dyke show has been tired out on both networks TVLand and Nick at Nite.

This is good news. Its safe for four years! Hopefully enough people will either discover the show for the first time or rediscover it and go buy the DVD's!

I hope that TV Land is putting Night Court on a Short Hiatus.

According to what I've read on the TV Land message board, "Night Court" will go off in August and will probably return in September. So, it will be a short hiatus.

The other good thing is that I've noticed more people supporting "Night Court" on TV Land's message board in the past few days. That means more people are interested, which is a good sign for the show. Hopefully, the hiatus will generate more viewership and support for "Night Court."

Thanks for sharing the news. I'm glad to hear Night Court will be back soon. I don't really watch any of the show that are expiring except The Dick Van Dyke Show. I think that's a good show. Other than that, I'm glad the rest are ending. It'll leave more room for better shows... like Night Court!

Thank you for letting us know I will watch it next Saturday July 15th. Hopefully they will add weekly schedule in the fall. Im guessing in Late August or September. (smile) They just bringing in Jefferson and Star Trek in September.

I wont be watching Star Trek it too old and not very modern becasue speical effect is not made from computer & the background is a fake paintings and the set just fake same things with Bonaza (western) the outside background is not real just take closer look you will see what I mean. Well that the 60's. Even Wizard of Oz is a fake in the background painting. I laugh at it long time ago even dvd restored.

I checked the guide on my satelite and it's not showing Night Court on Saturday the 15th. :( Maybe the guide will change before then.

Actually, since it's basically contracted to Viacom, why in the heck can't NC turn up on VH1, VH1 Classic, Oxygen or Spike? I wouldn't be suprised if VH1 Classic picks it up because they seem to be showing stuff that isn't classic music videos now...
