Was Clark a freshman in season one? He mentioned meeting Chloe in 8th grade during a season one episode, or possibly early season two, and he just made it seem as though it had been a while. He didn't say, "I met her last year." Also, if Chloe were a freshman in season one, how did she get to be the school paper's editor, that is usually an upperclassman thing.

People always seem to act much more mature in high school on tv than in real life.

I've noticed, too, that (with a few exceptions) most teenagers on TV are played
by people in their twenties.

Well, he is Superman, he's special.
But aside from that isn't Tom Welling 29? So in 2001, when the show started, he would've been 24. If the actors were any younger I don't think I would like the show as much. I'd probably feel like I was watching a teeny bopper show like Lizzie McGuire if they were actually 14 when they started the show...Tom got lucky with the part, most 24 year olds don't have that baby face he does. I would never have guessed he was 29 unless I knew it, I'd guess that he was about 24, which is Kristin's current age.
