It seemed to me, the crowd at the Reagle Beagle was late 20ish through 40ish. When the Ropers went there, they seemed out of place. They were in their 50s, and well into their 50s. So when they went there, they seemed out of place, because they were married and Mr. Roper didn't like hanging out. They were an old 50 something.
On the other hand, Mr. Furley, who was around the Roper's age, never seemed to be out of place. He was out going and single. So, he fitted the scene in there, the Ropers didn't.
