THANKS!!!!!! lazygrae 06-25-2006, 03:40 PM Do a search, this has been discussed many, many times. greenlantern88 06-25-2006, 05:59 PM Hello, The easiest way to convert PAL to NTSC is by buying a universal vcr player. They work the same way as a regular vcr to vcr dubbing, you just choose the conversion pal to ntsc or ntsc to pal. I have the Panasonic ag-w1 and it converts quite nicely. You can also buy a multi-system vcr and a converter but this is much more work. I too, have a jvc svhs multi-system pal vcr and a tenlab converter and it records great. As stated, this method does take a bit more effort than just hooking up a universal player. Anyway, I hope this helps. Are they retail movies or homebrew DVD captured off PAL television? If they are simply DVD-r(+r) recordings off PAL tv, or PAL home movies, something non-commercial then the easiest and most effective way is to have a dvd-r/+r recorder, and a multi-region dvd player. Connect audio/video from one to the other, duplicate it to a dvd-rw, then re-author in a dvd program if you choose, or simply use a -/+r disk and don't worry about re-authoring. If they are retail then you must use your computer to convert there is a very good and indepth tutorial here: http://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=300144 glockman101 06-25-2006, 09:07 PM I am wanting to convert homebrew PAL dvd's to NTSC dvd's. so I can just use a multi region dvd player and a recorder and it will work? wheezer210 06-25-2006, 10:36 PM yes. stoogedog 06-26-2006, 12:32 AM hi, i transferred some homebrew pal dvds to region free dvds with my duplicator. they worked great. thanks marvelousmarcus 06-26-2006, 01:51 AM I don't think the region code has anything to do with it. You can still have region free PAL discs. It is the format that won't change. RedWhine56 06-26-2006, 12:29 PM I need some help, how can I convert PAL to NTSC???? any help is appreciated. THANKS!!!!!! Since they are on DVD, if you have Nero Ultra (6 or 7), you can rip from the DVD & burn as NTSC with Nero. wheezer210 06-26-2006, 02:15 PM when converting PAL to NTSC or vice versa, region code is not as important as the FPS and resolution. Where most people run into problems is when they have audio and video is out of sync. Resolution is also an issue, PAL is generally 720 x 576 NTSC @ 25FPS NTSC generally is 720x480 @ 29.97 fps So you can see where they audio/video sync issues can come up. Trust me, I have done A LOT of PAL/NTSC conversions and it is far easier to go with a multi-region DVD player>dvd recorder IF the source has a stereo track. (such as a homebrew dvd from TV or home movie on DVD) If it is a commercial DVD with 5.1 you will HAVE to use the computer method because you have to stretch the audio track to fit the video length and frame rates, and no home equipment is capable of recording 5.1 and converting from PAL to NTSC. Besweet with the AC3 Machine front end is best for that situation. |
