Just announced. Soap Net's Soap Talk starring Lisa Rinna and Ty Treadway has been cancelled.

"We also thank our hosts, Lisa Rinna and Ty Treadway, for their constant professionalism and charm. Soap Talk will remain a part of our schedule at 11 am, 4 pm and midnight and [the 28 remaining unaired episodes from Season Four] will continue to roll out through the fall."

Unfortunately, Soap Talk failed to make a dent in the ratings: Its first-run episodes received roughly the same ratings as reruns."

I guess that means Rinna will be available to reprise her role as Billie on DOL.

This is a shame... I never really watched the show, but would tune in when they would interview a guest from one of my fave shows...

Same here. I thought Lisa was great on this show.

I don't think she will go back to days. She loved playing the role for a while but the producers didn't think she fit the part even though they liked her. They got someone else to do Billie.

Wow I didnt know that. I never really watched the show either but if I were to it would only be if there was any Passions stars on it.

Somebody else is already playing Billie. I honestly don't think Lisa would come back to DAYS anyway though, even if Julie Pinson were to leave. When she was on in 2002 they put Billie in an absolutely atroscious storyline, having her work for Larry Welch.

She originated the role of Billie. If she wasn't right for the part than they either never would have hired her or axed her very early. She's the best Billie out there. Krista Allen sucked, and Julie Pinson is just okay. I believe the first time she left back in the mid 90's was because she wanted to move on to other things, and I think the reason why she left again in 2003 was because she hated the storyline she was put in and wat they were doing with her character.

Let's see...they drop both Knots Landing and Dynasty within 6 months - both shows always consistent performers for the network in mid-afternoon, and now they cancel possibly their signature original program.

With all due respect to the parent company of the network, something mighty strange is going on at that network, and it needs to be fixed.

It's Brian Frons, basically. The Head of ABC Daytime became, essentially, the head of SOAPnet. I wouldn't be surprised if "Ryan's Hope" and "Another World" were axed in the coming months.

Uh oh... now I'm scared that if I start watching "Ryan's Hope" it'll just get cancelled now... :(

They own Ryan's Hope outright, IIRC, so I could see it lasting for a long time.

Another World...not so much. They'll probably continue to run it until the lease runs out, but I'd be more surprised if they DID renew.

Yeah it was a great forum to see the soap actors out of character. It looked like a cheap production so money shouldn't have been an issue. Ratings? Does Soapnet even draw any competitive ratings with anything on cable?

The show got cancelled because of the ratings but I don't know about any other show that would compete with it. I just know that the show ended up in the late night slots.
