Brian Damage 06-23-2006, 10:22 AM If I am not mistaken, he was lead guitarist, not lead singer. The lead singer was JT Taylor.

Oh no! That's my favorite group! Charles Smith was one of the five original members! The only way to celebrate Kool & the Gang is to induct them into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. It's been long overdue. Charles Smith btw was not the lead singer, he was the lead guitarist. When I clicked the title, I thought you meant James "J.T." Taylor, he was the lead singer.
RIP Charles.
