Has anyone visited Larry Hagman's official website lately? He has an activism section and in that section there is a report with pictures on his public appearance for the National Kidney Foundation in Louisville, Kentucky a couple of days ago (which is a nice place btw, I was there in 1994 when I stayed with my host sister who lived in Floyds Knobs, IN near Louisville) and his open letter.
I own a donor card myself, when I was at the doctor's a a couple of years ago I decided to read through the brochure that came with it and then grabbed a pen to fill it out, my mom took the other paper card and filled it out, too. I personally believe that when I'm dead I don't have to keep my organs with me. Knowing that my organs could save someone else's life is worth more than seeing your organs 'fade away' with you after all it's the memories that remind us of what the person was really like, it's the character that makes a person so special and unique, not the outer appearance. I wish I knew why some people feel that if something is taken away from them they're no longer 'complete'...what good is it to see everything die with you and people around you...then again it doesn't really matter to me what will be left of my body since I want to be cremated anyway.
When I turned 18 I got myself a blood donor card from the German Red Cross because I knew that with my blood I would not only save other peoples lives, no, I would also do something good for myself and my health.
Anyway, I just wanted to bring it up - I believe I read somewhere that Larry and Barbara both meet now and then for charity events..am I right?
