View Full Version : I Have Anemia
Nighthawk76 06-21-2006, 01:23 PM I have been feeling really under the weather over the past few days so yesterday I called my doctor early in the morning to see if I could get in to see him. He told me to come in right away. He did a whole bunch of tests...including blood tests. He just called me to give me the results of the blood work and he told me that I'm anemic. :( I guess that is why I have been feeling under the weather so much over the past week. And also why I always seem to feel tired.
Janice 06-21-2006, 01:27 PM That's too bad Mike. Did the doctor tell you to take an iron supplement? Perhaps he can prescribe something.
I hope you feel better soon. Please keep us posted.

Thanks, Janice.:( The doctor put me on some sort of medication to begin with. That is all I need, more medication.
PZelda 06-21-2006, 01:47 PM :bighug: I had to go to the doc this morning myself but that was for girl stuff. The nurse there gave me a hemoglobin test to see if I was anemic, and thankfully I don't have anemia.
I'm sorry, Mike. That really bites the big one. I wish you didn't have to deal with having anemia. :( Hang in there, though...At least now you know what the problem is, and you will start feeling better soon. :)

*Pleasant Tomorrow* 06-21-2006, 04:41 PM Being anemic causes you to feel a little depressed? I didn't know that...I have it, too. I thought it just caused you to be tired.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear. Yeah, it would explain a lot of your fatigueness and and how you are feeling overall. I hope you feel better soon. Try taking some vitamins or eating more fiber/iron.
Mijada 06-21-2006, 07:48 PM That sucks :( My sister had that. just take your meds and eat a lot of iron rich foods and I'm sure you'll be just fine. :)
Nighthawk76 06-21-2006, 09:21 PM Thanks everyone. :) :bighug:
EmoJoe 06-22-2006, 06:31 PM :( get well soon
theshark8777 06-22-2006, 06:52 PM Last time I had blood work done, my red blood count was low too. The doc said it wasn't that low, and didnt do anything. I am still tired a lot.
Brad Russ 06-22-2006, 06:52 PM I'm real sorry to hear this man. I hope you make a quick and speedy recovery!! :)
swedeace 06-23-2006, 12:36 PM You know...I have been tired lately as well, so I wonder if I am also a bit anemic? I don't eat the "right" amounts of food I am supposed to (proteins, iron, fiber, etc). But, I also don't get enough sleep. I get about five hours of sleep a night, so that's partially my fault in the rest area. So, Mike, what other symptoms did you encounter to feel the need to get tested?
I just don't want blood work done on me. I hate needles and they make me apprehensive. I am just tired of "feeling drained" during the day. It makes it difficult to hold my head up at work.
KristinHerreraFan 06-23-2006, 03:31 PM I'm soooo sorry! :(
I'll pray for you! My mom had anemia when she was younger.
