View Full Version : ** NEW POLL-- would u trade for these? soaps/news-PLEASE REVOTE-made it FRAUD-FREE!**
Lamont 06-20-2006, 07:36 PM OK since the LAST POLL i put up got hijacked by NON TRADERS who have no interest in actually trading
BUT only in helping out a buddy
I ask that you revote
i made this one PUBLIC so we can all see WHO votes to see if they are TRADERS or just "buddies"
please vote again! 1 day only!
I made it ONE PERSON- ONE VOTE-- so it WILL add up to 100% this time
if u DO want to trade for this type of stuff, please vote only once for the category you would MOST LIKE
this way, we can have a simply breakdown adding up to 100% total
Lamont 06-20-2006, 07:45 PM if u want to see WHO voted HOW
click on the NUMBERS next to the votes, they are highlighted in BLUE and it will show u who voted
Lamont, keeping it honest!
digitalmonkey 06-20-2006, 08:03 PM I also tried to vote for Leno, Conan, Letterman, etc but it didn't record my vote.
Lamont 06-20-2006, 08:15 PM i made it ONE PERSON-ONE VOTE
so it will add up to 100% total
u can only vote once
for the thing u would most trade for if any
that way no ballot stuffing
Brian Damage 06-20-2006, 08:47 PM There was a couple of things I wanted to vote for, but I settled on Leno and Letterman.
Mr. Cranky 06-20-2006, 08:58 PM I traded for years and lots of people wanted local news coverage from where they had lived before. I've seen lots of trading for that, especially sports.
TVFactFan 06-20-2006, 08:59 PM Leno/Letterman is WINNING!!!_lol
Lamont 06-20-2006, 09:00 PM I traded for years and lots of people wanted local news coverage from where they have lived before. I've seen lots of trading for that, especially sports.
have u ever posted in the trading post before? i do not recall ever seeing u here, and was just wondering how u stumbled upon this post? hmmmmmm
Mr. Cranky 06-20-2006, 09:03 PM have u ever posted in the trading post before? i do not recall ever seeing u here, and was just wondering how u stumbled upon this post? hmmmmmm
What, do I have to submit to a cross-examination to cast a vote or what?
I do a lot of lurking. Lots of laughs on this forum, I'll tell you.
I don't post on this board. Didn't know that was a criteria for voting.
TVFactFan 06-20-2006, 09:06 PM have u ever posted in the trading post before? i do not recall ever seeing u here, and was just wondering how u stumbled upon this post? hmmmmmm
Don't be mad Lamont, Take the loss like a MAN!!!-lol
Lamont 06-20-2006, 09:06 PM Leno/Letterman is WINNING!!!_lol
TvResearcher
YES this is the case, i wonder why?
click on the Blue Numbers to see WHO is voting for what
and u will see a trend
1. the TRADERS who post PRIMARILLY on the Trading Post and who are the ones we all know from the trades they do--- they are OVERWHELMINGLY voting NONE OF THE ABOVE
2. dont get me wrong, EVERYONE is welcome to vote--- BUT if u look at some of the Other categories you will see an OVERWHELMING # of people who NEVER post in the trading post at all, MANY of which are not even traders--- BUT by coincidence most do post in the other areas that TvResearcher posts 1000 a posts a day in---- so are these NON TRADERS all just happening to stumble on this post, even though they never post in the trading post? maybe, or did a certain member email his buddies and ask them to vote the way he wanted? i dont know
im sure that some people do want the Tonight Show and other stuff, BUT im just as sure, that certain people or person take these boards way too seriously and are trying to sway the outcome
but thank god its all public and when the results are tallied we can take into account how people who ACTUALLY trade voted and how people who NEVER trade voted too
Lamont 06-20-2006, 09:12 PM What, do I have to submit to a cross-examination to cast a vote or what?

was not saying you were or were not honest at all
just asking
b/c for example LAST MONTH we had a poll about who was best trader, best list, etc etc
and guess what ONLY a handful of people voted-- the same people who ALWAYS post here and always vote in the polls
and this time around, for some strange reason a TON literally DOZENS OF PEOPLE--- many who have NEVER made a post on the trading post EVER and many people who DO NOT EVEN TRADE--- all of these people, who are all "buddies" with tvresearcher--- ALL SUDDENLY and MYSTERIOUSLY
stumbled upon the poll and
for some strange reason they ALL voted
the SAME WAY that tvresearcher did
hmmmmm.... isnt that a strange coincidence,
its ALMOST like "SOMEONE" emailed all his buddies with a link to the poll and asked them to all vote that way
again, i was NOT singling you out at all, and from the posts i have seen from you, u DO indeed specialize in news footage so it makes sense people woudl come to you with news requests--- however those people are WAY in the minority
and YES its possible that people will disagree with me, and possible that some will vote here who never did before and possible that some will agree with tvresearcher
BUT at the same times---- its a HUGE amount of people and an amazing coincidence

I don't believe me and FOXNEWSRULES know one another
Old Hag 06-20-2006, 09:23 PM I trade soap operas, but never All My Children, because Susan Lucci is an old hag.
And TVresearcher or whatever his name is - we're secret lovers. NOT.
y2k3Joker 06-20-2006, 09:24 PM I do a lot of lurking. Lots of laughs on this forum, I'll tell you.
Friday's is 2 for 1 Comedy Night.
Get here early because we're expecting a full house.
I'll get you a nice table for two in a quiet area so you can lurk.
Lamont 06-20-2006, 09:39 PM ok the OLD poll, the one full of fraud and BS got locked b/c of childish name calling and bickering
lets see if we can keep this thread at least half way intelligent
and also, come on guys be honest here
if u dont trade at all, why vote? if u have a friend who wants u to vote a certain way, why do it? i mean its childish
if people REALLY want to trade for stuff great, i have no issue, but if u look at the tallys, it seems very odd that 99% of the known traders on the board vote a certain way and 99% of those who never post here vote another
i feel like im Jr High School again, and the Cool Kids are Block Voting one way against the Jocks
Brian Damage 06-20-2006, 09:46 PM i feel like im Jr High School again, and the Cool Kids are Block Voting one way against the Jocks
Weren't the Cool Kids the Jocks? A better comparison would be the Jocks vs. The Math Club.
Lamont 06-20-2006, 09:48 PM i didnt want to offend TvResearcher by putting him in the MATH CLUB

PS brian damage---- i think you are wrong on this topic, dead wrong-- but i have to admit, the picture in your avatar is SMOKING HOT
cmcb06 06-20-2006, 09:51 PM As my vote stays my answer is "NONE of the Above!" I mean honestly...
Lamont 06-20-2006, 09:54 PM i understand we all have different tastes
and what i like, other people say is crap
but no matter what, i just dont like ballot stuffing by people who dont even trade
thanks for all who have been voting, at least the honest ones
lazygrae 06-20-2006, 10:04 PM Lamont, perhaps the poll needed to be worded slightly differently to clearly state your intention. I think your point was, do you archive this series? Not, would you ever trade for a specific episode? I mean, it's easy to imagine a situation where a person would want a single, specific episode of a chat show, like when a favorite singer/actor is on. Hard to believe that all these people who never post here requesting old eps of these series are serious collectors of them.
cmcb06 06-20-2006, 10:46 PM Oh,
And um btw TVResearcher. NONE of the Above! is winning, so neener Neener neener, your not gonna winnnn.
LOL
Mr. Television 06-20-2006, 10:52 PM Oh,
And um btw TVResearcher. NONE of the Above! is winning, so neener Neener neener, your not gonna winnnn.
LOL
Actually if you add all the others together it adds up to more but Hey its just a friendly poll. It's all just for fun.
Lamont 06-20-2006, 11:01 PM the OVERWHELMING response from the TRADING COMMUNITY is almost all for NONE OF THE ABOVE, only a couple KNOWN TRADERS actually voted otherwise, and that is cool too b/c some in the minority Do want oddball stuff
but if the people who post on the trading post daily check who voted for what---- u will see a WHOLE LOT of names that noone knows-- b/c they never come to this board at all, unless requested to by someone else to help out a vote count

even with all the voter fraud, its still plain to see that most of the stuff has no interests to traders
again, its just a silly poll
so not worth the blood, sweat and tears,
but TvResearcher--- you really missed your calling! you REALLY ought to consider getting into Politics
they could REALLLLLLLY use a guy like you when it came to "Voter Registration".....IE lining up guys who NEVER voted before and driving them to the polls on election day!
MsOrange 06-21-2006, 09:12 AM I don't ever trade here, but I voted Conan.... I trade tapes on another board all the time.
savageamusement 06-21-2006, 12:59 PM Like I said before
There is no wrong or right
Just majority and Minority
The majority here like tv shows- and movies
Not live and reality shows.
For the most part tv talk shows are for interviews and spots of stars- where as shows are for the acting of stars.
There may be a few looking for it, or that don't mind having it if announced
But not the majority.
And that is why there are other areas of the board such as Sketchshows/varietyshows/talk shows
Its right there for people who like that particular area of tv.
Peanutbutter 06-21-2006, 03:29 PM I say non of the above.
I can't see myself collecting Soap Operas.
The only one I would come close to recording would be Tonight Show, Etc when they have a guest I want to see.
Lamont 06-21-2006, 08:47 PM well all the hoopla was for nothing
EVEN WITH a suprising # of first time participants who never post in the trading post
and EVEN WITH a suprising # of non traders voting for what they would like to trade for
---
the clear cut winner was
NONE OF THE ABOVE taking 42 % of the vote
the ONLY other category of the "recommended Taping list' to get any noticable intererest was in the TONIGHT SHOW, however after checking with a few people--- the majority of those admitted that they had NO REAL INTEREST in the current episodes and were ONLY looking for CLASSIC CARSON Shows and even then, only wanted a few specific episodes
so even taping that seems to be a waste of time, UNLESS you can go back 30 years to tape some rare ones
i guess my advice would stick to taping sitcoms, dramas and sci fi shows that people actually have an interest in!
THANKS!!!!
gilligan fanatic 06-21-2006, 08:49 PM The only one I would trade for is a late night talk show if it has a guest I like the rest I don't care about.
Lamont 06-21-2006, 09:04 PM i have a few tonight shows with guests i like
like Tiny Tim or Burt Reynolds
and i would LOVE to get some with guests such as
Lucy
Gleason
George Burns
Dean Martin
Sammy Davis Jr
Benny
Crosby
and
Richard Pryor
but thats it!

Come on TVResearcher us white folks have done some funny stuff too? Tim Conway, Harvey Korman, Robin Williams, Cartoondvds.... gotta give them some props!
Gotta give it to Mr. Richard Prior though he is da man

It had nothing to do with race, I'm just a fan of all the guests I listed. And Robin Williams was never funny, just CRAZY_lol

I went back to see what you wrote about Steve Nash - and you passed the test.

this killed me when i read it!
BUT I must agree with solomon on this one--- Robin Williams-NOT FUNNY
tim and harvey are great (i saw them live last year!)
but pryor, redd foxx and Dick Gregory are much funnier
i guess im partial to black comedians of the 1970s too!
:grady:
:racist:

Pryor is the King but throw Billy Crystal and Robin Williams in the same room and it is great. That Cartoondvds though now there's an artist!

get those old timers outta here , Lamont.
You know who's fall on the floor funny ....?
Chris Tucker (Smokey)
http://members.tripod.com/~mysterious_3/pictures/chris.gif
Lamont 06-21-2006, 11:32 PM Chris Tucker is amusing to me, BUT he doesnt have that special "something" that will keep him around for ages
EXAMPLE--- REDD FOXX, will be enjoyed 50 years from now
COSBY, people will be watching his stuff 50 years from now
PRYOR, people will be watching his stuff 100 years from now
BUT---
EDDIE MURPHY, funny as hell for a brief spell in the 1980s, but 50 years from now, noone will know who he is
the same is true for most young black comedians, chris rock, chris tucker, etc
they are funny, BUT not original enough to make it into immortality
y2k3Joker 06-21-2006, 11:38 PM You can say the same thing about the three you mentioned - funny in their era - funny to the people who got to see them in their prime - NOT FUNNY to most people from this generation.
They'll be fond of the comedians of today just as much as you are of the comedians of yesteryear --- "You Big Dummy" :D
Lamont 06-21-2006, 11:43 PM well time will tell
but the truth is every era has tons of comedians and tons of popular comics
BUT 20 years from now, 90% of them are forgotten
i remember a time when JIMMIE WALKER was the hottest comic in the country, and was voted COMEDIAN OF THE DECADE! no lie!
but last year i saw him in Vegas in a small club, for $10 a pop! playing to a crowd of 50 drunks
when i was a kid i bought tons of comedy LP's and if i pull them out now, EVEN I do not know who most of them are any more!
but some like Foxx or Pryor are timeless
just like LUCILLE BALL will always be loved and remembered while ANN SOTHERN is forgotten
just like how THE MARX BROTHERS will remain immortal and noone remembers THE RITZ BROTHERS
the same way WC FIELDS is still enjoyed today, while few others from his era are
i could be wrong, and usually am, but i just dont see too many of todays young comedians still being around 30 years from now!
it seems that NOONE CARES about being a comedian anymore! they just use stand up as a tool to get a sitcom deal and then never do it again!
y2k3Joker 06-21-2006, 11:49 PM i remember a time when JIMMIE WALKER was the hottest comic in the country, and was voted COMEDIAN OF THE DECADE! no lie!
You gotta be making this part up - No way this is true. Can it?
Never knew you were such an aficionado on the subject. Hmm, you learn something every day. ;)
Lamont 06-21-2006, 11:53 PM i swear its the truth
JIMMIE WALKER was SOOOOO hot
he was huge
i STILL have my pull string TALKING JJ DOLL and my NON TALKING JJ DOLL Too!
Jimmie Walker had a HUGE SMASH comedy album and did stand up like 200 days a year during off time from GOOD TIMES
and he was indeed- voted COMEDIAN OF THE DECADE!
but then he was gone!
he still has TONS OF PRESENCE
and when we saw him last time in Vegas he was fun to see, but his material was out of date and he seemed to just be going through the motions
STILL--- id love to see him make a comeback, he has a lot of charisma, but got too big too fast, without enough talent to sustain it!
Lex Luthor 06-21-2006, 11:55 PM DY - NO - MITE !
