^ Probably not - The first series of dvds didn't sell well apparently. They issued a collectors set a few months back with all the sets in one big "Treasure Chest" with a bonus dvd featuring some of the "Treasures" segments.

A few of us have been in contact with the people at "First Look" about the possibility of some more sets and they seem open to suggestions but the bottom line is sales and sales for the sets so far haven't been that great.

I would suggest if you are looking for a specific episode or segment you seek out a tape trade or join a tape tree on this forum as a lot of us here have nearly the entire series (especially the "Unexplained Deaths", "Wanted", "Missing Persons" segments) in our collections from both "Lifetime" and some original broadcasts as well including stuff that has never been syndicated.

They should have came out with a Mysterious Dissapearence set. There have been so many of these on UM I cannot believe they didnt do at least one.

Good point, PeachySquirt21, they should do a mysterious disappearances one. I'm a little suprised they haven't done one already.

Although the lost loves segments typically aren't my favorite ones, I would probably pick it up if it ever came out (fat chance though since the sales from the first round didn't do so hot.) However, I think that a lost loves box set might appeal to a lot of people who aren't UM fans per se, but fans of lost love stories. There could be a huge market there. Who knows? - maybe the lost loves would be the biggest selling one of them all!

I really liked the "Bizarre Murders" set. I wish that would make a second one featuring the rest-stop killer and the bowling alley massacre cases.

Perhaps if they had taken the complete season route sales would have been better. Some of the crap that's getting released on DVD is vastly inferior to this classic show and they get full season/series sets. Soooooo what's the deal here First Look?

Don't get me wrong, I'm a sucker for this show and I own 4 of the 6 sets released. The only thing that did was make me want more sets! Especially more Strange Legends. I found that one REALLY lacking. Maybe we'll get lucky and they will at least release the Treasures disc seperate. I'd snatch that one quick!

^^^^I agree. Legends could've had two sets. Although they would've been a bit smaller than the others most likely, it still might've worked.

For example, one might be called Legends, and have legendary persons, such as Martin Luther King, RFK, Brandon Lee, etc.

The other could be called Myths or something like that, and have 'monsters' as well as treasure on it. Such cases that could be featured would be, Skunk Ape, El Chupacabra, Loch Ness 1, Loch Ness 2, Loch Ness 3, Ogopogo, Yeti, Mothman, D.B. Cooper's treasure, fertility statues, the small statue found that could reveal a race of tiny people, The Sideshow Ice Man Missing Link, and many other various treasure episodes.

Then again, those might not be enough for their own set. How bout one big Legends set that would include all of the legends? It could be bigger than the other sets. Possibly 5 or 6 discs.

Is the "Miracles" DVD-Set good?

I think the Miracles set is good, and I would recommend it. The stories do tend to get a bit repetitive though. (Basic formula: person doesn't believe in supernatural in any way shape or form, experiences supernatural, now is a total believer, tries to make others believers. Lather, rinse, repeat.) Still, all in all, a good compilation.

Whaty's this segment about?

"the small statue found that could reveal a race of tiny people,"

Whaty's this segment about?

It's about the rumored existence of a race of people dubbed The Pygmys. If memory serves, it was located in a cave about 100 years ago in Colorado, or something like that, and the ownership of it subsequently changed hands several times.

As kind of a follow-up to one of my above posts, I think that a Lost Loves box set could sell well under certain cirumstances. If they focus primarily on the solves ones, and market it as a type of "Chicken Soup for the Soul" type set, I think there would be a lot of interest in that.

They're not typically my favorite segment, but there are at least a few good ones out there. One of my favorites was about a teenage girl who lives in Washington D.C., or thereabouts, and decided to runaway to Texas I believe. On the train, she encountered 3 men who kind of took her under their wing, as she was alone and probably very frightened. While at a rest stop, a guy started making advances and she wasn't interested and the 3 guys persuaded him to leave. I believe she eventually found at least one of the 3 guys.

Another great one was the Asian-American WW11 soldier who was looking for another soldier who helped save his life. Also, when the Asian-American went to get his meal, the racist server denied it to him, saying that "he looked like the enemy", the other soldier stepped in and told the server to back off. The 2 soldiers reunited in Hawaii.

And some other good ones out there. I think there's enough material out there for First Look to make a good box set.
