I don't like grits, never have. Some people eat fish and grits, or red eye gravy ham and grits, cheese grits, shrimp and grits. So gravy and grits don't sound that crazy to me, but I live in the south and we eat a lot of things that others might think is gross.

Exactly, my grandma on my dad side said she use to make it when they first moved to the south because it was a cheap breakfast that you can get full off of. I myself hate grits, so I don't eat them.

So it's just a southern thing
