I was watching "Greg Gets Grounded" on my season 4 DVD set tonight, and I was surprised that the show went right from the "checkerboard" before the last commercial to the closing credits. Are there any other eps, other than this and the pilot, that don't have a tag scene? I was just wondering. Thanks!

This is very interesting,
Because syndication/TV Land's prints use different edits for "Greg Get's Grounded" (actually ALL episodes) and the tag scene is where Mike and Carol in the bedroom and Greg says he's tired of living by exact words. On the DVD presentation, the squares that fill in are edited out and the film blends in from Greg and Rachel at the drive-in to the bed room scene. However, no dialogue has been cut for this episode on the DVD. On TV Land's print, the fill in squares occur before Greg says he's final lines at the drive in. (Which Hope Sherwood said were ad-libbed by Barry.) "I don't think we'll be eating this tonight. And he was in 34th place too." Syndication includes the fill-in squres, but omits the scene with the frog scaring Alice and Peter laughing, as well as another scene with Greg telling Peter about his grounding and Bobby saying, "I was just telling Mom and Dad what a great driver you are!" Greg says, "That's amazing." Bobby says, "What is?" Greg says, "How anyone can get to be so STUPID in such a short time!"

The theme song of Season 1 was sung by the Peppermint Trolley Company, which can be seen in the closing credits.
