Jo_Luvs_Ketchup 06-08-2006, 10:23 PM How many meds do you take daily?
I was thinking about this last night and I was just curious. :)
I take 14 a day, I believe.
Thanks to everyone who gave me the courage to stand up to some jerks in SO! :)
Southern Hellraiser 06-08-2006, 10:28 PM I usually take like two pills a day for my allergies.
Nighthawk76 06-08-2006, 10:30 PM I take Paxil once a day and Klonopin twice a day.
*Pleasant Tomorrow* 06-08-2006, 10:38 PM 2, some generic allegra brand for post nasal drip and some generic prozac brand for being emotionally ****ed up
And then I take my iron every other day for anemia, but that's not exactly a med.

dawsongirl 06-09-2006, 04:55 AM Just Paxil. Allergy meds are just on an as needed basis.
swedeace 06-09-2006, 07:44 AM Grrr.... I didn't get to copy my post before I hit "post" and now it's gone!!! pissed: Let me re-type it... *complains under her breath*
Anyway...
I was never on any meds until recently.....just two days ago.
I have to take the antibiotic of Azithromycin for five days, and then I am taking Propranolol twice a day for 30 days. These are actually on a trial basis to see how they will help me. I don't even know if I will continue these or not. But I will see if they work.
Brad Russ 06-09-2006, 07:51 AM Pepsid for my stomach
Eye Drops for my eyes
Allergy medicine, normally either Benedryl or Tylenol Severe Allergy
Lexapro for stress
I use to be on lexapro as well, but unfortunately it didn't do much for me. The best med I ever took was adderol, but I was taken off of it because my nurse thought it was the cause of my blood pressure getting dangerously high. Personally though, I think it was the five cups of coffee I use to drink everyday that did that.
Here's the other meds Iv'e been on:
Klonopin
Provigil
Paxil
Prozac
zantac
Moonlight Lady 06-09-2006, 10:22 AM I take four a day
Levothyroxine - Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid)
Allegra - Seasonal Allergies.
Glucosomine - For joints and muscles (I have bad knees)

*MIBabe03* 06-09-2006, 10:29 AM I take 3. Lexapro, Atenolol (blood pressure), and a BC pill.

I agree with DAX. There is no shame. Don't let others make you feel bad. Just hold your head high and just ignore their words. You are only taking care of yourself....not them. :)
Tuesday Weld 06-09-2006, 01:30 PM I agree with DAX. There is no shame. Don't let others make you feel bad. Just hold your head high and just ignore their words. You are only taking care of yourself....not them. :)
That's right. :)
Brieannas21 06-09-2006, 03:25 PM Just Iron and BC Pills, nothing major.
LuLu Rogers 06-09-2006, 04:03 PM So, how does this work for Social Anxiety, if I may ask? That's interesting there is actually a meds for it. Does it help you relax or something?
Of course you can ask! I'm very open about discussing my condition. It doesn't bother me at all. Social Anxiety is also caused by a chemical imbalance, just like depression, therefore it can be treated with medication. It helps me relax and not be afraid of new people and crowded situations. :)
Jo_Luvs_Ketchup 06-09-2006, 08:31 PM This is a very depressing thread-lol
I'm glad you think so. Please, I am in no mood for this. If you think so, then stay out and don't post please.
EmoJoe 06-09-2006, 08:56 PM one usually, for allergies.
TheHappyBurgerMeister 06-09-2006, 09:32 PM If we're just talking prescription; just one. As for non prescriptions I don't take them daily but I take IB profen if I have stomach cramps or a headache which isn't every day.
Nighthawk76 06-09-2006, 10:11 PM I'm glad you think so. Please, I am in no mood for this. If you think so, then stay out and don't post please.

Oh, okay. Thanks for the info. It was very interesting, actually. I never knew that SA was due to a chemical imabalance, but I guess that makes sense. I know some people with Social Anxiety, and I think it's an interesting research topic. I feel I can relate to a lot of SA as well. I feel apprehensive about actually interacting with individual people (not really the crowd but the individual people scare me more).
Nighthawk76 06-10-2006, 01:02 PM Wow, I can't imagine drinking five cups of coffee a day. Then again, I don't like coffee to begin with. If I drank all that coffee I would never sleep.
I have had five cups a coffee a day.
Nighthawk76 06-10-2006, 01:04 PM Since I'm not really embarassed anymore, here are the meds I'm on! :)

Courtnee 03-04-2007, 01:41 PM I take Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo [not because I'm sexually active, but because my time of the effing month was UNBEARABLE. I'm chained down to remembering to take it at 8:30 pm everyday and I think it's made me gain some weight that I could live without. -_-] and sometimes Ultram and something that starts with an N for unexplained abdominal pain. I hate taking them. It's like that feeling that Nyquil gives you, except you're not sleepy. I'm just not myself when I take them, but it's the only thing that works.
Chelsea 03-04-2007, 02:46 PM A vitamin, and that's it.
Corolla 03-04-2007, 03:52 PM A vitamin and right now I'm taking a pill for an infection in my throat.

Sharop 03-07-2007, 04:44 PM I usually don't take any, but I recently had a nasty cold, and kept taking Fishermen's Friend cough drops. Maurice Gibb said they were good once.
They worked well, too. And they actually didn't taste too bad. So thank you Maurice! :)

No, I actually take it for my bi-polar depression. I've been taking it for a few years now, but it hasn't been seeming to help much lately.

Wow and you get no side effects from it? I couldn't get above 15 mg daily before teh anxiety/paranoia/general feelings of overstimulation overtook the therapeutic benefit.
DLevine2 03-08-2007, 09:03 AM You're Lucky! Jo Jr.
Brad Russ 03-08-2007, 03:08 PM Wow and you get no side effects from it? I couldn't get above 15 mg daily before teh anxiety/paranoia/general feelings of overstimulation overtook the therapeutic benefit.
I do get some side effects from the adderol like dry mouth, slightly higher blood pressure, agitation, and irritability, but I've found that the benefits for me, have far outweighed the negatives. To be able to focus for a few hours a day for the first time in years, has been a Godsend, and I wouldn't trade that for anything. It's nice to be able to focus for a change, even if it is just for a few hours a day. You think my dosage is high, my brother use to take 4 of the 30 mg tablets a day. Now that, I can't even imagine. I think his therapist was a loon, who was just setting him up for an addiction!!
Jo_Luvs_Ketchup 03-08-2007, 03:46 PM No, I actually take it for my bi-polar depression. I've been taking it for a few years now, but it hasn't been seeming to help much lately.

SBTB Geek 03-09-2007, 04:37 AM None, thank God. I'm sure my holistic lifestyle and diet is wholly responsible.
For those taking anti-depressants and live in California, ask to be prescribed marijuana instead. At least that's natural. :o
Brad Russ 03-09-2007, 05:22 AM For those taking anti-depressants and live in California, ask to be prescribed marijuana instead. At least that's natural. :o
Doesn't work for me. Just gives me uncontrollable body movements, headaches, and makes my throat hurt for days. It may be more natural, but it sure doesn't make me feel very natural. I prefer my meds.
Brad Russ 03-10-2007, 04:40 AM Brad, I hope the medicine will start to help more again. :) I'm now up to 20 mg. Lex. a day. I'm not sure if it will help or not. I'm having headaches at the higher dosage. :( I hope they will go away. I was at 15mg., but as of Sunday night I increased it to 20mg. My doctor mentioned in the past that if I felt I needed to increase it from 15 to 20 I should. Just trying to get into see a doctor right now is a nightmare because of my insurance. I've been trying to get in for a few weeks now. I have an appointment with my primary care doctor this afternoon (Friday). I have to get referrals to go to see anyone other than him. It's a pain.
Thanks Jen, I'm sure things will get better for me. They already have gotten 10 times better, so I know I'll be fine. I'm sorry to hear about the problems you're having with the headaches, as well as the added headache of insurance, and all that crap. Fortunately I get all this stuff taken care of virtually for free, so I can't even imagine how tough it must be for you. Hopefully things will get better for you soon though, I'm sure they will. Hang in there!!
