I do not like the Computerized Modern Highlights starting around March 2006! The pictures look like they were drawn on a computer instead of looking handpainted like they had for the previous 59 years, they shortened the riddles from 15 to about 8, Goofus and Gallant look horrible compared to the old G and G, Check And Double Check are now in color instead of Black And White, and The Hidden Pictures are easy to find! They even have Highlights on the internet! The poem page is gone from the inside cover and there are now a bunch of questions on the inside cover. Poem page is now on page 5.

I have a big complaint about Hidden Pictures. I knew something was wrong when they gave answers to June HP on the internet(I had a really weird feeling about this as I grew up reading Highlights with no help to HP, even after the internet became really mainstream), but at least the June HP had the old technique of HP(You had to look really hard for the pictures), but the July HP was really easy!  :( The HP were larger than life and obvious!  :( I finished finding the pictures in a few minutes, I think it was about 2 or three minutes! With the June episode, I was looking for the final picture for DAYS, until I gave in and went on Highlights.com and found the last picture.

Here are other complaints(which some actually started way before 2006, but are still modern).

The Headwork Page is now the Brainwork page and does not have answers to questions on its page anymore(Last page of the Highlights issue).

The answer page is not the last page anymore, and there are now some answers before the questions............. June's answers were on page 21, and there was a question on page 38.

There are no more "big indexes of Highlights issues" in December. This "Final Index" put EVERY Highlights article title for the months January-December. It was a big "Highlight" of the year.
