What do you think? Should there have been at least 1 more large female role? Loretta did a great job, and Margaret was a very complex character, but sometimes I wished there were another female lead (or at least, supporting). Even if Kelley had just been a bit of a more developed role even...?

The problem with that idea is, you need a "role" for her , that means shed have to be a wife, or maybe a bargirl at Rosies...if she was another army nurse, then Hotlips role would have had to be made smaller to make it work, and i dont think anyone would have gone for that idea.

i always wished that kelley had a larger role. she could have done so well with some expansion. BUT, as said earlier, it may have cost the character of margaret some level as main female lead. but then again, as the show progressed, it may have been better to have brought margeret down some and expanded kelley. not made her a major character, but at least some level of noteriety.

I think the last season should have introduced a beautiful nurse from Crescent Lake, Maine , She would've had the same devil -- may -- care attitude as Hawkeye and Trapper John . She'd be disgusted by the war, and critical of the way the army works . Hawkeye would have fallen in love with her, and he would have taken her back to Crabapple Coe and married her .

I really liked the female guest stars like Arlene Golonka and Amanda McBroom, and wished that some would have become semi-regulars or at least returned.
