I got this from the Spoilers section of AOL's DAYS board.

From PGP

From the June 20 issue of Soap Opera Digest:

After months of negotiations between NBC, Corday Productions and Sony, insiders say DAYS will be renewed for 2 more years, which will keep it on the air until 2009. James E. Reilly is reportedly out as head writer, and will be replaced by ATWT's 4-time Emmy-winning scribe, Hogan Sheffer, who will start in mid-July.

Sounds good to me. A monkey would be better than JERk. Hopefully this guy will be what saves the show.

That would be good news, I heard this Sheffer kicked ATWT into gear and with the mess DAYS is in now, it sure could use some strong writing.

I just wish NBC or Corday Productions would release some official confirmation that JERk is out. That man is one of the worst writers in daytime; I'm so glad that it appears he won't be able to ruin Days anymore.

Nothing's been confirmed yet at all. From what I've heard, DAYS has been renewed, but no talk about headwriter changing has taken place yet...

Hogan would definitely be an improvement after Reilly, but Hogan is only really good at writing "exciting" and "adventurous" stuff. He's not too good with teens, romance, and family-type problems.

Are we dealing with Reilly's writing still or are we dealing with Sheffer's writing? Even though I've never heard of Hogan Sheffer until recently, I've gotta say "thank you thank you thank you, I hope you can save Days". Anyone is better then Reilly and that's a fact!!

I'm not sure if he started already or what. I thought I heard he starts in July. If that's the case then we won't see his stuff until like August or September.
