I suppose this means the composer Frank Devol and it really is amazing how important the music interludes and background tunes are to Brady lore. I often wonder how much the mood of the show would have been affected if it had been a different composer who had worked on the Brady Bunch. I doubt the show would even have the same feel...

I love almost all the Brady incidental music. I love the music that is used during Gregs driving lesson with Mike and his competition with Marcia over who is the better driver. I love all the surf music used in season 4. The My Fair Lady spoof had a great opening teaser with a 'in a bad mood' Marcia stomping through the house accompanined by some great music and then we had a great cue as she chucked her books into her drawers just before Mike and Carol entered the scene.
A lot of Sci-Fi shows release soundtrack cds. i would love a Brady Bunch one, including all the verisons of the opening and closing credits as well as the two 'in colour' stings, especially the one used during season 2.

Frank DeVol also makes a nice cameo in "The Show Must Go On."

I liked the episode where they were painting the parents' bedroom and there was a mishap, then you heard this bending electric guitar riff. It was hilarious.

Frank Devol was the regular musical director and comedy star of "Fernwood Tonight." He was kind of like what Paul Schafer is to "Late Show With David Letterman."

I just Netflixed Family Affair, he did the music there! Oddly, I can't pick out any Brady style cues so far (only seen two eps.) the music is much more "dramatic: still it's nicely done.

Gotta bump this: Yeah, good old Frank DeVol. Even gives his full name in song credits. BTW In the early major Schwartz show "Gilligan's Island" it was very different: a lot of different very recognizable cues [see "Gilligan" board].
The whole series of that sitcom credits George Wyle for writing the theme msuci
Season 1 of Gilligan mentions John Williams, Gerald Fried, Herschel Burke Gilbert and Frank Comstock.
Season 2 and 3 mention (not counting the theme) for Gilligan only G.Fried and "Hawaii Five-O's" Morton Stevens.
ASCAP and BMI sites list a LOT of other composers for BOTH series.

I always enjoyed the musical cue that plays, for example, when Greg leaves Mike's office to go on his bicycle delivery route in "Call Me Irresponsible". That seems to be one of the more rarely heard cues, the majority of which seem to be in Season 2, from what I remember.

"My Fair Opponent" had its own nice additional track, not based on the main theme song, for a montage when Marcia was transforming Molly from ugly duckling to swan. I can also remember a special track for the time when Alice poured the water over Mark Millard to wake him up after he ran into Sam's leg of lamb. I'm glad Steve Dunne didn't drown having all that water poured over his face at that angle!

Here's a link to a lot of good music cues from The Brady Bunch:
