The Jeffersons is one of my all-time favorites, but the dvds aren't going anywhere. As long as I have them in my collection, I know I can watch them anytime. vashti1999 06-05-2006, 01:13 PM you got like a million TV DVD's to-lol You can't watch them all at the same time That's true, that's the main problem in keeping me from watching the Jeffersons. Maybe I'll try to get through the first four sets by the time season 5 comes out. TVFactFan 06-05-2006, 06:13 PM That's true, that's the main problem in keeping me from watching the Jeffersons. Maybe I'll try to get through the first four sets by the time season 5 comes out. It sounds like you like the Jeffersons the same way I like All In the Family, you don't mind watching the show but it's not one of your TOP 5 shows GARFIELDKOOL 06-05-2006, 07:16 PM I got all 4 seasons. when the 80s episodes hit, I don't know if I should get those. Then again, I may just buy them to keep the series on hand. TVFactFan 06-05-2006, 07:20 PM I got all 4 seasons. when the 80s episodes hit, I don't know if I should get those. The show was still funny in the 80's, just no like it was in the 70's CindyRoxiesLair2006 06-05-2006, 07:25 PM I now have all 4 seasons of the Jeffersons...thank goodness... ;) It took me about a month & a half to collect them all, but now I do have them, and I've begun to enjoy each episode all over again! Brian you defintely need to get seasons 3 and 4 before August-lol storrs19 06-06-2006, 11:35 AM I own all four seasons and certainly will buy Season 5. I must admit though that seasons 1 and 2 are my favorites of all as George wa real mean and nasty, like a black Archie Bunker and it made for some very funny shows. I really liked the series all the way though. Glad to see it is getting regular releases. TVFactFan 06-06-2006, 09:54 PM I have all 4 seasons of the Jeffersons on DVD; but I might skip the 5th season (I am not fond of the latter seasons of this show, sorry Solomon):p Season 5 was a good season selena2078 07-13-2006, 12:33 AM yes i have all 4 seasons on dvd and anxious to get season 5 next month. :) :D :happyface jamesanthony 07-13-2006, 05:01 PM I have years 1-3 but I haven't bought the 4th year because the show is on in local syndication in my area. I think year 1 is the best season. I keep going back to that DVD more than the others. Whoever programs the show for my local station is obviously a fan; when they began running it daily the fastforwarded through the seasons already on DVD (showing only 1/2 of those seasons). When they got to the later years they showed every show in production order. So I recommend getting the DVD James"Thunder"Early 07-13-2006, 05:26 PM I have all 4 seasons and I'm awaiting season 5. Season 5 has one of my favorite episodes, the one where Louise gets amnesia. TVFactFan 07-13-2006, 05:29 PM I have all 4 seasons and I'm awaiting season 5. Season 5 has one of my favorite episodes, the one where Louise gets amnesia. I like the one when George goes to Louise's Highschool Reunion and wants to fight the guy BO ghd 07-14-2006, 01:19 AM I have all four seasons not sure If Ill get five TVFactFan 07-14-2006, 01:24 AM I have all four seasons not sure If Ill get five Thanks for the Support-lol James"Thunder"Early 07-14-2006, 02:01 PM I like the one when George goes to Louise's Highschool Reunion and wants to fight the guy BOYeah, that's a good one too mraw 07-14-2006, 04:33 PM I have all four seasons as well, and I can't wait until the fifth is available! Several episodes continue to make me laugh. On "Uncle George and Aunt Louise" (season 4), in the beginning where Florence sees that bug in the cupboard and loses control is priceless! Especially when Louise goes to kill it like she's big and bad and it scares the crap out of her, too- then, George comes in with a rolling pin and breaks all of the dishes! My favorite in the fourth season is "George and Whitty", though. Louise's reaction to those ants are classic. I can't wait until the season with the killer bunny on Halloween comes out (hopefully the releases will make it that far). For those who don't have any of the seasons on dvd and are interested in them, amazon.com has a sale going now where you buy two sets and get $20 off on the order. Each set comes to $16.99 if you take advantage of that offer. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/feature/-/597865/103-1682087-6104657 Also, if you can catch it, Wal-Mart has the first seasons of The Jeffersons, What's Happening!! and Good Times for $13.99 each. jamesanthony 07-15-2006, 06:26 PM My favorite in the fourth season is "George and Whitty", though. George and Whitty is a very entertaining episode! I agree Isabel Sanford's acting i is quite good in that episode. Her acting in the killer rabbit episode is also very good. Are you referring to her acting in regars to the Ants getting loose?-lol jamesanthony 07-17-2006, 08:23 AM Are you referring to her acting in regars to the Ants getting loose?-lol Exactly- that is very fun to watch. Isabel was 60 years old then but she had great spunk. It was while watching this episode that I really just how good an actress she was. Many people thought Sherman and Marla Gibbs were the best actors in the show, but Isabel was right up there and could hold her own. mraw 07-17-2006, 05:52 PM Exactly- that is very fun to watch. I also love the Halloween episode with the killer bunny, when a trick-or-treater and his mother came by and Weezy didn't have candy, so she was giving them everything in the apartment to keep them there because the killer was behind the door (even butter "scotch"!). The thing I loved about Isabel's slapstick moments were that they were unexpected. You knew that Sherman and Marla were going to play off of each other every week, but you didn't expect it from Isabel because she was always the level-headed, take-no-nonsense character that I appreciated (because that matches most with my personality). Now the Halloween ep was not one of my favorite ones from season 5 mraw 07-17-2006, 07:16 PM Now the Halloween ep was not one of my favorite ones from season 5 The Halloween episode was in Season 6. When I was younger I used to be scared of that rabbit. It was one of few episodes that had an eerie feeling to it (the other one that comes to mind is when they went on that mystery cruise and everyone was being murdered). I was using that episode as an example of Louise acting differently from her usual character in a very funny way. jamesanthony 07-18-2006, 07:38 AM The Halloween episode was in Season 6. Iasabel and Paul Benedict are very good in that one. Other very good ones that Isabel did good in (because she broke character a bit and did something unexpected) were And the Winner Is in year 10 where she loses as volunteer of the year to Mrs Van Morris and Age is Nothing But A Number in the last season where Louise tries to get the valley girl tenant evicted. Isabel supposedly said that the Sammy Davis Jr episode in year 10 was her favorite and Louise does slapstick in that one, but it just seems like a very mediocre Lucille Ball meets a celebrity ripoff type of episode. |
