View Full Version : Do you think TV LAND should have aired Benson at 10pm since it's a new show?

10pm would have been a little better since it's just been added to the schedule but the 11pm timeslot is not that bad so the show should be able to gain a new fanbase. But TV LAND should keep everything the way it is, ONE AIRING a night at 11pm. Not after 2 months start airing the show at 11pm, 11:30pm which will start becoming too much and the show will be stale like Sanford and Son and Godd Times.

I could deal with an hour of Benson, it ran longer than 'What's Happening' and 'Good Times'. To me what makes the show stale is repeating marathons over and over like that did with some of their shows like Good Times. One week TVLand does a marathon followed by TVOne, not to mention the show is on DVD.

2 eps at 10pm sounds too good to be true!

but i can live with one ep at 11pm - as long as they keep it on long enough to run through the whole series a couple of times :)

Well, the time slot is not TOO bad--a little rough for the East Coasters--but I don't think it's really terrible. I guess 10PM EST would have been a bit better though.

It Defintely needs to be in Good Times slot

You never know; we could see a switch. It seems that once shows are on TV Land for awhile, they end up in a late night/overnight time slot. Now that Good Times has been on for a pretty lengthy period of time, it may be time to move it to one of these slots. I wonder what their intention was in placing Benson at the 11PM EST time slot to begin with.

....TV LAND always presents one of their "original series" at 10pm(et) on Wednesdays. Since they've just started running "BENSON" only ONCE a day on the entire weekday schedule (for now), they want the show to be on five nights a week to establish its presence on the channel. And then there's the fact that most local broadcast stations present newscasts at 11pm....if you don't feel like watching the news, wouldn't something as funny and "comfortable" as "BENSON" be a better choice?
;)

As Governor Gatling would say, "This reminds me of a story"....

Actually, it reminds me of the TV Land message boards that I'm almost sorry to have registered on. It's pretty obvious to me that a vast majority of posters are 15 and under & very immature. A bunch of them are saying bad things about Benson over there. They don't seem to understand that the show deserves a chance seeing as 1) fans have been waiting to see it return to the airwaves for awhile and 2) it is NOT currently available on DVD. Each of them thinks the network should run THEIR schedule, not a schedule designed to please as many people as possible.

If the show was on DVD, I wouldn't care if TV Land never showed that marathon. I might not even care if TV Land didn't show it at all. Earth to viewers!! Do you read me?
