Last night, I decided to time the episode of Welcome Back, Kotter that aired (The Great Debate), and to my surprise, it was a lot longer than I expected. I was expecting the usual edited episodes (like what TV Land aired), but I was wrong. It clocked in at 25:07, without any commercials. For those who get WPIX/WB 11...consider us very, very lucky.

If this is old news, I'm sorry. If this isn't, then even better :)

Oh my! Did you time The Jeffersons, too?

Tivo is the way to go. If you can get it, I highly recommend it. I can't live without it any more.

I haven't gotten the chance to time The Jeffersons, but the next time it comes on, I will. I should also time Good Times once that airs (even if the last season is coming to DVD soon, thus completing the series).

Brian, I don't have a Tivo. However, I'm capturing the episodes with my video capture card, editing out all commercials in a clean and easy fashion, and then burning them to DVD for my own personal viewing.

Solomon, there are some people who can get a signal to WPIX from Philly. I know I used to have a TV (one without cable) that could pick up WPHL17.

I will be taping Kotter tomorrow and The Jeffersons to see if that is uncut, too.

nocomments: I hope to see some on YouTube! You do a great job with classic TV series there. I'm just wondering how you got those Perfect Strangers episode unedited? What station?

Well, I checked The Jeffersons and Good Times, and both are syndicated cuts :(

I should've expected that, though. With Kotter uncut, I can't really complain :)

I might just add some to YouTube. I haven't been able to reconvert some of my videos in a while, so I'll have to do that soon. I'm planning on adding that and some Charles in Charge stuff too from My 9 (My 9's airings of seasons 2-5 all seem to be around 22:25-22:30, so I'm assuming they're uncut...the season 2 bonus episode from the season 1 DVD was 22:27, so it seems to fit along with that).

The Perfect Strangers episodes...I downloaded a bunch off of eMule. They come from a Middle Eastern station called METV (not to be mistaken with Chicago's ME-TV). Not sure if they air it anymore, but I have plenty on my computer, so I'll be adding more soon.

I watched the Perfect Strangers pilot from your YouTube videos. Awesome stuff. That opening for the pilot I have never seen. Rare stuff! Also, the bumper before the closing is intact! How many episodes do you have?? This is GREAT! I hope you have some from the final season, too.

I have about 73 in total, all uncut. Unfortunately, none from seasons 7 and 8. I have 4 from season 1, all but 1 episode from season 2, a handful from season 3, all but 2 episodes from season 4, and a handful from seasons 5 and 6 (a very small handful from 6).

I also watched the Perfect Strangers episodes that were uploaded to YouTube. It is one of my favorite shows and I would like to thank nocomments for uploading these as well.

Wow! I hope you put all of them up soon! METV (Middle East TV) seems to air Hogan Family, Welcome Back Kotter, Growing Pains right now. Lucky people in Lebanon!

I have a DVD player/recorder. Can I do that stuff you mentioned?

nocomments: Someone flagged your Perfect Strangers pilot? What idiot did that? Now, it can't be saved because of that.

nocomments: I found 49 episodes on eMule. Hopefully I can get them all. It is going very slow, though. It should go faster since I have cable. Maybe when you have time you can post a list of all episodes you downloaded, and I'll do the same. I found 5 of the 6 from S1--hopefully they download.

Has anyone else been recording the WPIX late night broadcasts? I've missed a few. I always miss the Friday night shows and might want them to complete my collection down the road.

So far, the only episode that has been cut was "The Fight:" It's missing the tag scene/joke, and only clocks in at 24:00. But so far all episodes are intact (I get the station on my Dish receiver channel 234.)

They lose the rights this Sept, so hopefully they show each episode once.
