didnt u post just a few days ago that you were seeking episodes of this series???

point of clarification---- rare and common are subjective terms

while "3s" may not seem super rare to you and your research
it is a show that is not on most lists, at least not complete all eps in order

just my 2 cents worth

thanks for looking:wave:

its all subjective

tvresearcher would be thrilled to death to get 2 episodes of CRAPOLA THEATRE from original 1949 Dumont airings with commercials on vhs tape only

id be happy to get the complete Crapola Theatre on dvd with or without commercials and id call it rare

Loren would put Crapola Theatre on his Premium list

Joker wouldnt trade Crapola Theatre at all, BUT would redo it with great menus

and Lilhave would tell us all we were idiots for watching the show to start with !!

two types of rare

1. some things are TRULY Rare shows, like Checking In, or The Dumplings or the Original 1950s Dragnet, b/c people want them and they are hard to come by

2. some things are rare, BUT only because Noone wants them, for instance, i do not know of anyone who has a full run of the jerry springer show
BUTTTTT its only rare in the sense that noone took the time to tape it, b/c its junk

Back in the 30's, one of the most successful sales persons was named Wheeler. He coined the phrase "sell the sizzle, not the steak" If Lamont came out and said "I got a set here, who wants it"?, it wouldn't be as popular as "this is rare" People like things rare, hard to find, exclusive, one of a kind etc. It didn't work with girls, when I said "how about a little of my sizzle", they preferred more steak.

lamont , we have discussed this at length and i still utterly disagree with your idea

why is flo, the ropers, checking in, all so rare

easy

becasue they sucked so badly the networks pulled them so swiftly

and no one ever wanted to pay to rerun them

and no one wanted to waste a blank if they did rerun them

the hardest things to get, doesnt mean its any good, in this case it means its junk, it was then, and it still is

certain people think its wonderful to have obscure shows like this

a better word maybe obscure

i submit that a show like lou grant is rare

a long lasting show, that was rerun

but yet it seems somehow didnt make it onto our have lists

it should be out there

i think everyone who wants these shows should be forced to sit and watch everyone

we wouldnt hear much about the flo, ropers, checking in, etc

Are you serious about Lou Grant being rare or are you joking?
I've seen that series on many lists. Most people have late 90s
A&E airings from the lists I've seen. I didn't know it was rare!
Guess I should trade for it...

im dead serious

yes you should have traded for a set

i have seen a list or two in my trade rounds

and i havent seen more than a dozen eps on anyones list

which translates to about 10% of a run

theres a rumor of a vhs stash right now,and it may pan out

i would rather have lou grant than all the other so called rare items i keep reading about, ropers, flo, checking in, etc

Loren,

I just double-checked and 2 lists I have for traders show "full series." I'm not interested in this show but I'll find out what they might want for it.

I think you got something there. Yesterday I called his house and spoke for 20 minutes. Thought I was speaking to his wife and found out it was Lamont. He sounds just like Kelly Clarkson. Wow!, one slice of the weedwacker and he went from tenor to soprano.

Lamont? I hear those high pitch crooners go well.

And this season showed grey hair is in. You're gold buddy.
