View Full Version : Do You Remember Your First Friend?
Nighthawk76 05-27-2006, 08:50 PM My first friend was a girl named Kelly who lived across the street from me between 1979 and 1985. I don't remember when we actually met, but my dad says it was sometime during the summer of 1979. I do have a memory of Kelly and I digging up something in my backyard after a really big rain storm. This was sometime during the fall of 1979. I remember how angry my dad was with us.
Mijada 05-27-2006, 09:11 PM Yes, her name was Lori. I was about 5 when we started playing together. She was 2 years older than I but we stayed good friends all through elementary school. She was a tomboy like me and we did everything together, riding bikes, playing hide and seek, going exploring in the woods all kinds of stuff. I remember watching General Hospital and MTV with her when it first came out. We were quite the little troublemakers as well, terrorizing the other kids. I used to envy her because her parents worked all day and she and her older sister pretty much did whatever they wanted. I didn't realize till I was older that she had it kind of rough at home. Her dad had suffered a nervous breakdown years before and had become abusive. I know her mom loved her very much but couldn't be there for her when she really needed it because of her job. One time Lori got sick at school and ended up spending the evening at my house and my mom took care of her because her own mom had to work late. She moved away in the summer of 83 when she was 13 and I was 11 but I still saw her on occasion because her new house was near my grandmas and she was still in the same school district. It wasn't the same though and I really missed her a lot but she was older and was developing other interests so we didn't have much in common anymore. The last time I saw her was in high school in 1988 and she went on to become a teacher in a daycare center. I wouldn't mind getting to know her again but have no idea where she lives now. I keep checking on Classmates.com but she isn't registered.
Gosh, writing this just brought back some good memories from my childhood. :)
Kelly Hamilton. We were 2!
Southern Hellraiser 05-27-2006, 09:22 PM My first friend was a boy named Josh. I met him like Fall 1995 when I was in preschool.
James"Thunder"Early 05-27-2006, 09:23 PM I don't just remember my first friend, she still is my friend. Probably met her about 16 years ago when I was 4.
Janice 05-27-2006, 09:36 PM Her name was Janey Sullivan, and we were neighbors and friends from toddlers until I moved away at age six. I remember her mother was old or so it seemed in my young mind. She was probably in her 30s, while my mother was in her early 20s.
~LadyJess~ 05-27-2006, 09:42 PM My first real friend was a girl named Jamie. My family lived on the corner of a court and she lived on the court. We were best friends all through elementary school but drifted apart when we got to junior high because suddenly she became too cool for me.

Brieannas21 05-27-2006, 11:27 PM My first friend was a girl who lived down the street from me when I was growing up and we are still friends to this day. We were actually born 3 months apart and we grew up together because both our moms are good friends as well. And she's one of my close friends till this day. I'm 25 now and we've been friends for 25 yrs LOL
Nighthawk76 05-27-2006, 11:35 PM suddenly she became too cool for me.
I'm sorry. :( Something like this happened to me too.
Yooch 05-27-2006, 11:40 PM Sure do. As a matter of fact I went back to the old neighborhood in Brooklyn and he was still there. I hadn't seen him in over 30 years. His name was Richard and was the only child of Norwegian immigrants. They lived two houses down from us. Our moms would talk over the fence while they were hanging out wash. Richard and I started playing about four years old.
Mr. Television 05-27-2006, 11:41 PM Who remembers. I didn't stay in one place to long when I was young so the first real friend I remember was Scotty. He was my neighbor up in Richmond. I was 5 then.
Courtnee 05-27-2006, 11:58 PM My first friend is my current boyfriend.
I've known him since i was 2
PZelda 05-28-2006, 12:39 AM This guy named Ricky...there were a bunch of others, but Ricky is the first one I remember. We met in the fall of 1988, when I was 3 and he was 5 (he turned 6 after school started). We went to the same school until, I think, 1990 or 1991 and then he moved away. I didn't see him until he enrolled at the same school as me in the fall of 1995...I was 10 and in 5th grade and he was 12 and in 6th grade. We finished out school together...he graduated from HS in 2002 and I graduated in 2003.
My first friend is my current boyfriend.
I've known him since i was 2
Awww that's so cute :)
My first friend was Kim. She was my next door neighbor when I lived in Coopersville MI. We had a fight once about which was better Garbage Pails cards or Wresling cards  The fight ended when I threw a rock at her. A few days we were best friend again though.
dawsongirl 05-28-2006, 02:56 AM Actually, I have no idea.
Stormtracker TF 05-28-2006, 03:45 AM I do. I was like 2 or 3 and he was probably about a year older. He was really weird from what I remember. One day I stopped being friends with him after he was a jacka$$ and busted his nose on my window trying to get my attention and convinced everyone including my parents that I socked him in the nose. I brought it up the other day jokingly and my Dad still thinks I knocked the kid out. Dumb bass. But I guess the jokes on him, he's the one who busted his freakin' nose on a window being an idiot. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a380/DorkyW00tage/jollyasian.gif
Number 9 Dream 05-28-2006, 02:59 PM My very first friend was a boy named Jeremy that lived across the street from us. I must've been about 4 or 5 when we started getting together. We used to play 'House' together in my backyard  My mom used to yell out the window, "Kris, get in the front yard where I can see you!"
I actually don't remember too much about him. My memory of my early years is kinda fuzzy. I remember he had curly blonde hair and he seemed to have a crush on me (although I didn't know much about that at 5 years old). My parents were friends with his parents and that's how I met him.
Their family moved away to Pennsylvania when I was about 7 or 8 and I never heard from him again.
Tuesday Weld 05-28-2006, 03:27 PM Actually, I have no idea.
Yeah, same here.
-*Forever*- 05-28-2006, 03:41 PM Well, my parents best friends had a son about 5 months before I was born, so we would play together because we were put together. He was my first friend, I guess, we're still friends now. I actually have to tell two other stories, because I consider them all in different categories. He was my first friend, but it was forced by our parents. My first friend I made on my own was a girl named Allison. Her dad owns a local liquor store and I went there with my mom one day. She was playing in the back with her sister and we met and I played with her. Then I found out she lived across the street, so we hung out a lot. I still talk to her, but we're not really close. And my first best friend, you've probably heard me talk about her, Jacki. We met on the first day of kindergarten. Our teacher told us to sit in a circle and I sat next to her. She went, "Hi! I'm Jacqueline!" and I said, "Hi! I'm Kaitlyn!" and we were best friends from that moment on. It was pretty awesome, she's really the first person I ever remember talking to in school.
Superstar 05-28-2006, 03:49 PM My first friend is still my best friend..I met him like 11 years ago.
