Just curious. What are your thoughts? With 2 distribution companies backing GAB, the chances of a second season release look good. :)

I am guessing us lucky Canadians will get the first second season release first because Universal is a very slow company for TV DVD releases.

At least if Universal decides to stop releasing GAB (which I doubt) we in the US could always buy the Canadian releases. Universal did do a pretty quick 2nd season release of Leave it to Beaver and The Rockford Files, so who knows, maybe we'll get lucky with GAB.

I disagree with that statement. I think GAB WILL get a release on the second season and it will probably happen by the end of this year, or the beginning of next year.

I hope so... it would be sad to see such a great show not be fully released.

Brian, that's not Jay Leno in your avatar, is it?

I hope we hear an announcement by the Fall for Season 2. I've been watching the first set now and I love it! I would love to see more released of this hysterical show. :D

After the 4th or 5th season, people lost interest in the show because it changed too much.

I think the save Universal money, they should release the last two seasons together in one set. But for now, keep releasing them in single season sets.

I see Brian changed his avatar now. ;)

Great idea! When it gets closer to the end of the season, it seems the best thing to do. :)

We probably will get the release. The DVD gives that link where to go for more season releases, Canada is starting on season 2, and I'm sure there will be at least seasons 2,3, and 4 out there. I'd worry after that. I mean, I even think we will see season 5, but then sales will really drop after that. I know 2-4 will sell great, and 5 might, too, but it's gonna be hard getting a 6th season release.

Well, in the case of the Dukes of Hazzard when Bo & Luke leave for most of a season. Warner Bros. did release that season and it didn't seem to hurt sales because they released the following season.

I don't think Gimme a Break is in any danger of not having a full release if dedicated fans keep buying the sets. At least VEI is working on season two, that's a good sign. Gimme a Break reruns aren't shown in Canada at the moment, they used to be shown about 20 years ago on CTV.

They're not shown anywhere in the US either, at least not where I live. I'd prefer getting additional seasons here, but if need be, I'll buy the Canadian releases if Universal starts to slack.

Is Canada really working on Season 2???

Does VEI have a website?

I can't wait for Season 2!!!! :)

Me too, I bought the season 1 & 2 release of Kate and Allie from VEI.

Universal really screwed themselves with Kate & Allie. They charged an outragous price for 6 episodes. I'm not a Kate & Allie fan, but it's easy to see how greedy Universal can be. Thankfully in the case of Kate & Allie & Gimme a Break there is another company backing it up, therefore a greater chance of getting additional seasons. I think season 1 of Gimme a Break did fine in the US, but for Kate & Allie, who can blame the fans for not wanting to buy Universal's overpriced set when they can get two seasons for a much better deal from VEI.

What I'd think they should do is have season 2 released by late 2006 and have seasons 3 & 4 together released by summer 2007
