Well, that's understandable, he does look very different in the photos as an adult. :) I've always found it interesting how he looked so much like Barry, even though Barry was 11 and a half years older than him (and the twins in the family, Robin and Maurice, didn't look alike at all! :) )

There are many more people it would be great to know better, including safetypin for one, but I can't list them all, or I'd be here all night (it's time I was getting off to bed, anyway.) But there are many more.

Oh, and Nikki - I may seem nice, but I am an abolsutely horrible, terrible, disgusting person, really. Run! Run away while you still can!

We tried name tags at the International Acer Meetings annual gathering in Göteborg, Sweden, and that worked fine the first two times. By the third time, we found that a lot of the same attendees already knew one another, so it wasn't too much of a surprise of "newcomers." So it wasn't too difficult to get to know newer attendants.

As I mentioned before, if anyone needs any help to seriously put together a Sitcoms Online real-life meeting, I could help with the setting up and stuff because I have been to three online get-togethers. Seriously. I could help. It IS possible, by the way. :)

I don't think the list really matters because even if there is a possibility there could be a future in-person meeting/gathering, there will always be people you never really talked to online who you will end up talking with in person. Then you will think, "Wow. We never really talked." Then, you will start talking to them online after that. It always happens. It never fails. Trust me. It's happened to me with the Ace of Base forums. ;)

I agree with you here. Surely, there are always going to be things happening everywhere - good and bad. It's up to us to have judgements and how to handle situations. But that can be any situation in any case....not just dedicated to online-related activities.

Most of the time during meetings, it's all very casual and relaxed. It's the same as if someone were to visit a coffeehouse and then sit next to a group of people that person doesn't know. Then the group invites that person to talk. It's going to be the same thing in groups.

Besides, as MsOrange said, meeting people from the online world is a form of socialization, so you never know if friendships and/or romance can spark. It's the same as "meeting" people from your neighborhood or city. It's a part of human nature...technology or not.

As far as the kid thing goes, I'm sure if there ever were some kind of get together, there would be some kind of requirements for people under 18, like that they must have parental supervision. She makes it seem like we'd be meeting in some creepy dudes basement or something.
yeah, i agree. i would wait until i was a little older to go to something like that freely (i mean, i can't even drive for another 4 years..-i live in NY so the requierment is 17- :lol:) but it would still be pretty supervized.

As I mentioned in my post, I don't think lists of "wanting" to meet people really matter all that much. They are basically lists of people that people have so-far based on posts, threads, and even online friendships. It's only a certain percentage. If there is ever a real-life meeting, I can guarantee there will be MORE people who you haven't really talked with online who you will just "click" in real life. Then, you will think, "Oh, we never really talked." And then you will start talking more with them online. Trust me. I've had that happen to me as I have met 60+ people from the online world.

So, maybe making lists makes people feel left out at this moment. I understand that.

I would like to add that I am not going to leave out any kind of possibility of not adding more people. I know there will be more people I would add once I saw them in real-life or interacted more with them in future threads. All things are possible. :)

I think so. Steve M. lives in N.J. according to his profile and I post about Philly and South Jersey area because I grew up there, which could add to that impression.
