But damn, almost a year after season 5. Pavan 05-22-2006, 08:18 PM Yeah...surprise the announcement of this was so low key today. I think I am the one "breaking" it first and I knew about it since last night. vashti1999 05-22-2006, 08:24 PM Yeah...surprise the announcement of this was so low key today. I think I am the one "breaking" it first and I knew about it since last night. So today would be the day there should've been news on tvshowsondvd.com? That is a surprise they didn't say anything yet. Pavan 05-22-2006, 08:32 PM Yes, today would be the day. Maybe they will post it later tonight. Brian Damage 05-22-2006, 08:44 PM That is good news TVFactFan 05-22-2006, 09:02 PM I may just rent season 6 if Keith is shown in the hallway in Homecoming 1 Brieannas21 05-22-2006, 09:41 PM It's about time ThomasE 05-22-2006, 10:45 PM I may just rent season 6 if Keith is shown in the hallway in Homecoming 1 Why? Is it because it is not show on TV Land? BTW, Do you want to select Wed. as the day to send off our packages? This has been such a snail trade. TVFactFan 05-22-2006, 10:47 PM Why? Is it because it is not show on TV Land? BTW, Do you want to select Wed. as the day to send off our packages? This has been such a snail trade. Yes, wed is fine. It's because that scene is not shown on TV ONE ThomasE 05-22-2006, 10:50 PM Yes, wed is fine. It's because that scene is not shown on TV ONE Excuuuse You? It isn't? OMG! I was wondering why you just did not tune in to TV ONE for that scene and watch it. I have it here with me. I got it from the Columbia House Home Video Collection. Wow, dude. TVFactFan 05-22-2006, 10:54 PM Excuuuse You? It isn't? OMG! I was wondering why you just did not tune in to TV ONE for that scene and watch it. I have it here with me. I got it from the Columbia House Home Video Collection. Wow, dude. Can u send that on wed also?-LOL Brieannas21 05-22-2006, 11:11 PM What Kieth scene are you talking about? ThomasE 05-22-2006, 11:16 PM Can u send that on wed also?-LOL Absolutely! Besides, I was thinking about sending something extra anyway. I'll tell you why in the e-mail. Brie 21. During the first few eps of season six in the opening, there is a scene between Thelma and Keith in the hallway outside of the apt. Thelma is not happy because other females kept coming to Keith asking for autographs. Thelma was expressing her unhappiness over the situation. Then they go into the house and Keith meets Florida for the first time. I have the Columbia House VHS version. Brieannas21 05-22-2006, 11:20 PM Absolutely! Yeah they played that scene on the TV One episode. Brian Damage 05-22-2006, 11:24 PM I don't think I have ever seen "The End of the Rainbow" uncut. ThomasE 05-22-2006, 11:25 PM The hall scene preceded what you saw on TV ONE. TVFactFan 05-22-2006, 11:48 PM Oh yeah something about a waitress or some female coming up to him. Yeah they played that scene on the TV One episode. That scene was NOT on the TV ONE version TVFactFan 05-22-2006, 11:59 PM Just watched BOTH parts of Homecoming and TV ONE for some ODD reason did not include that scene. That's very puzzling since they aired all the other eps UNCUT Brieannas21 05-22-2006, 11:59 PM That scene was NOT on the TV ONE version YES it was I remember watching it. TVFactFan 05-23-2006, 12:02 AM YES it was I remember watching it. Brieanna you have finally FLIPPED OUT-lol I have both eps in front of me right now and THERE IS NO HALLWAY SCENE. TV ONE picks up after Thelma and Keith had already came inside the apt. NO HALL WAY SCENE BRIENNA!!!!!!!!-lol Brieannas21 05-23-2006, 12:06 AM Brieanna you have finally FLIPPED OUT-lol I have both eps in front of me right now and THERE IS NO HALLWAY SCENE. TV ONE picks up after Thelma and Keith had already came inside the apt. NO HALL WAY SCENE BRIENNA!!!!!!!!-lol In the next few weeks when it airs again on TV One you should look at it. TVFactFan 05-23-2006, 12:08 AM In the next few weeks when it airs again on TV One you should look at it. I just looked at Homecoming 2 and it's not there. You must have dreamed that you saw that scene. Brieannas21 05-23-2006, 12:10 AM I just looked at Homecoming 2 and it's not there. You must have dreamed that you saw that scene. I dreamt nothing I saw it. TVFactFan 05-23-2006, 12:13 AM I dreamt nothing I saw it. How? you were not born yet in 1978 to see it on CBS-LOL ThomasE 05-23-2006, 12:14 AM Solomon, Please No! Brieannas21 05-23-2006, 12:15 AM How? you were not born yet in 1978 to see it on CBS-LOL That's one right thing you've gotten so far. TVFactFan 05-23-2006, 12:20 AM Solomon, Please No! Tom Brieanna knows that she never saw that scene-lol Brieannas21 05-23-2006, 12:21 AM Tom Brieanna knows that she never saw that scene-lol You don't know what I saw, you can't speak for me. I know what I saw and I saw that scene. TVFactFan 05-23-2006, 08:35 AM You don't know what I saw, you can't speak for me. I know what I saw and I saw that scene. I'm not going to even debate this any longer especially when i dug out the TV ONE tape ad watched both parts. Why would TV ONE only show that ep UNCUT one time and then show it EDITED? I honestly believe you donlt know what scene we are talking about or u saw it on Columbuia House and forgot Brieannas21 05-23-2006, 01:07 PM I'm not going to even debate this any longer especially when i dug out the TV ONE tape ad watched both parts. Why would TV ONE only show that ep UNCUT one time and then show it EDITED? I honestly believe you donlt know what scene we are talking about or u saw it on Columbuia House and forgot The same way they aired a episode of 227 CUT and then the next rotation they aired the same episode UNCUT. And I've never ordered anything from Columbia House so I highly doubt I saw their version. James"Thunder"Early 05-23-2006, 03:22 PM Great, finally vashti1999 05-23-2006, 07:00 PM I'm not going to even debate this any longer especially when i dug out the TV ONE tape ad watched both parts. Why would TV ONE only show that ep UNCUT one time and then show it EDITED? It's like Pavanbadal said on another thread concerning Gimme A Break, it's possible the first time or first few times that episode aired on TV-One it was uncut because it was a new channel that didn't have much advertising. As time passed and TV-One picked up more sponsors (more commercial time) they started airing edited versions. It's possible Brieannas21 could have seen the unedited episode on TV-One before they started airing them edited. Back to the subject, even though there's no info yet, at least the season 6 dvd has its own page (http://www.sonypictures.com/homevideo/catalog/catalogDetail_DVD043396150461.html) on Sony's website. faraj 05-23-2006, 09:28 PM Finally the series will be finished on DVD on Aug. 1! 3 disc set with all S6 episodes running a total of 580 min. More details soon. Hey, that'll be before Flintstones S6 (and also the final season of that show) comes out on DVD in September. Yabba Dabba Dyno-Mite! LOL! Trishalla 05-24-2006, 10:48 AM Any word on the what the Cover Art will look like and if there may be special features By the way Yeah Yeah Yeah the Sixth season of Good Times is on the way ThomasE 05-26-2006, 11:11 AM YES!!!! Of course, I am not excited about this or anything;) LOL. That sounds like something that Marie would say to Donald. vashti1999 05-26-2006, 12:39 PM Any word on the what the Cover Art will look like They managed to fit all 8 on the cover. It's good they put Michael on the spine. Pavan 05-26-2006, 02:18 PM Here is a clear cast photo from S6 that Sony will use for the cover: Lamont 05-26-2006, 03:19 PM I loved Good Times as a teenager was one of my favorite shows adored JJ and i am not too proud to admit i cried when james died (DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!) but once Season 5 rolled around the show was an abomination Season 5 was asinine and made no sense at all with Florida moving away and leaving the kids to live alone Willona was NOT strong enough to carry the lead role and the addition of Bookman and Penny added nothing Season 6 was a bit better, b/c Florida was back and it was ok, but never as good as the first 4 years and by the end it was just another forgettable sitcom ThomasE 05-27-2006, 12:26 PM For some strange reason, I was hoping that they would feature Thelma with her shoulder length hair in the cover art picture and they did. LOL. I think Thelma's new hair and beauty is what attracted me to season six in part. I say "in part" so Solomon won't say that is not a good reason for season six to be the best season. LOL. LOL. CindyRoxiesLair2006 05-28-2006, 03:46 PM I just bought the Season 5 of GT on DVD, as well as Seasons 1 through 3. I know I said that I probably wouldn't buy any of GT on DVD due to its redundance on TVLand, but...hey, a girl CAN change her mind, huh? LOL ;) I am hesitant, though, about getting S6 of GT when it comes out, though...Hmm, we'll soon see, huh? LOL Anyhow, I'm enjoying the "unseen" scenes in each episode and disc... :happyface  TJ 07-17-2006, 07:56 PM Bad news on this set. I see 3 edited episodes. Florida's Homecoming (Part 1) and Florida's Homecoming (Part 2) are only 22:22. Florida's Homecoming (Part 3) is 24:20 and Florid'a Homecoming (Part 4) is 24:27. Florida's Favorite Passenger (Part 2) is only 22:18, but Florida's Favorite Passenger (Part 1) is 24:32. Does anybody know if Seasons 1-5 had any edited episodes besides some missing recaps and previews for the next week's episode? Did Columbia House release these episodes from Season 6 that somebody can check or TV One? Sony has done this a few times with one-hour episodes on Diff'rent Strokes - Season 1 and Archie Bunker's Place - Season 1. I don't know why they don't have access to the complete episodes. I will check my TV One eps Tonight ThomasE 07-17-2006, 08:45 PM TJ, thanks for the information. Thank the Lord that I have those eps from Columbia House which are unedited. When I bought Archie Bunker's Place:season one(season ten of AITF for Solomon.LOL) That thanksgiving ep was editied as well. I have an original airing and noticed the difference although my copy is blurred. TVFactFan 07-17-2006, 09:36 PM TJ, thanks for the information. When I bought Archie Bunker's Place:season one(season ten of AITF for Solomon.LOL) That thanksgiving ep was editied as well. I have an original airing and noticed the difference although my copy is blurred. I guess I should get the other Parts of Florida's Homecoming from you since Part 1, 3, and 4 are edited too. I never had anything bad to say about TV ONE until now. Why the hell would they air all the other eps of season 6 UNCUT but not the Homecoming Eps?-lol DAMMM!! Brieannas21 07-17-2006, 09:46 PM I wonder if they just edited out the recaps parts, like they did with "JJ's Arrested" episode and "JJ and the Gang" TVFactFan 07-17-2006, 09:49 PM I wonder if they just edited out the recaps parts, like they did with "JJ's Arrested" episode and "JJ and the Gang" The thing that's puzzling to me is that TV ONE aired the UNCUT version of the Depressing Ass BIG MOVE eps but not a PLEASANT ep like Florida's Homecoming. Brieannas21 07-17-2006, 09:51 PM The thing that's puzzling to me is that TV ONE aired the UNCUT version of the Depressing Ass BIG MOVE eps but not a PLEASANT ep like Florida's Homecoming. They did air it uncut  If I'm not sleep tonight I'll compare their episodes to the DVD's TVFactFan 07-17-2006, 09:59 PM They did air it uncut  If I'm not sleep tonight I'll compare their episodes to the DVD's Well make me a copy of it then. I will pm your address so you can have it mailed out by the end of the week I was talking about when it airs on TVOne. I just checked and it doesn't come back on until 3 am my time. I thought it still came on at 10, and at 3am I'll be in sleepland. vashti1999 07-17-2006, 11:01 PM I haven't checked it out yet, but I just got this set in the mail today. That's bad about the short eps, but I hope it just has to do with "scenes from next week's/last week episode" situations. Pavan 07-17-2006, 11:36 PM Bad news on this set. Florida's Homecoming Parts 1 and 2 aired on the same night on CBS as a one-hour episode, so that for sure is edited, and there would NOT be a recap before part 2 starts. So, Sony strikes again with the one-hour episode editing non-sense. Parts 3 and 4 aired as half hour episodes on consecutive weeks, and they look fine on the DVD it seems. Florida's Favorite Passenger 2-parter aired as 2-parts on two consecutive weeks, so maybe the recap is missing for part 2, since that is only 22:18. TVFactFan 07-18-2006, 12:23 AM I was talking about when it airs on TVOne. I just checked and it doesn't come back on until 3 am my time. So if you don't this UNCUT EP then why were we even debating this?-lol You have no argument if you can't prove to me TV ONE aired the UNCUT versions. ThomasE 07-18-2006, 08:36 AM Solomon, don't be naughty, be nice. I will check my tape from Columbia House for the "Florida's Passenger" Part Two ep to see how long the time runs. Brieannas21 07-18-2006, 07:28 PM So if you don't this UNCUT EP then why were we even debating this?-lol You have no argument if you can't prove to me TV ONE aired the UNCUT versions. TVFactFan 07-18-2006, 07:37 PM I don't know what your talking about, I'm not debating anything. I didn't say what episodes I was going to compare. I was saying since you said u claimed you seen the UNCUT Version of Home coming Part 1 on TV ONE but don't have it on Tape then you should have never tried to convince me that TV ONE did air it because you have no proof-lol I have the Edited version from TV ONE which makes my argument more Solid-lol Brieannas21 07-18-2006, 07:42 PM I was saying since you said u claimed you seen the UNCUT Version of Home coming Part 1 on TV ONE but don't have it on Tape then you should have never tried to convince me that TV ONE did air it because you have no proof-lol I have the Edited version from TV ONE which makes my argument more Solid-lol Where in my post did I say I had an uncut version of "Florida's Homecoming"? I said that TVOne did air that episode uncut. TJ 07-18-2006, 07:57 PM Florida's Homecoming (Part 4) has a recap before the episode that runs 1:40. Part 3 has no recap or preview. Florida's Favorite Passenger (Part 1) has the "To Be Continued next week..." tag. Part 2 doesn't have a recap, but it does have a voice-over for "and now for the conclusion of..." So I guess maybe only the recap for Part 2 is missing. TVFactFan 07-18-2006, 09:00 PM Where in my post did I say I had an uncut version of "Florida's Homecoming"? I said that TVOne did air that episode uncut. The only time I tape shows are when I'm at work and a show airs during my working hours. Other then that, I don't tape shows just to tape them. When I buy a DVD Recorder then I'll think about taping shows. ThomasE 07-29-2006, 09:14 AM Well, Brie, you will save of storage. When I graduate and up north I will have tons of VHS tapes in tow. TVFactFan 07-29-2006, 12:58 PM Well, Brie, you will save of storage. When I graduate and up north I will have tons of VHS tapes in tow. I'm running out of Space now with my VHS tapes TVFactFan 08-02-2006, 06:14 PM I picked up the 6th season DVD today, and now I am completed on the Good Times episodes..wooo hoooo!!!:D Now TV LAND should take it the hell off-lol ThomasE 08-03-2006, 07:53 AM But what about TV ONE? Should they keep it on the air? TVFactFan 08-04-2006, 07:08 PM But what about TV ONE? Should they keep it on the air? Yes since I have all the eps, they can always replace it with the Jeffersons Rocketman2004 09-24-2006, 05:39 PM Florida's Homecoming Parts 1 and 2 aired on the same night on CBS as a one-hour episode, so that for sure is edited, and there would NOT be a recap before part 2 starts. Florida's Favorite Passenger 2-parter aired as 2-parts on two consecutive weeks, so maybe the recap is missing for part 2, since that is only 22:18. One question on this episode, does a copy of the original hour-long version that aired on CBS exist, and if it does, did Sony decide to use the two-part version because either the original was in unairable condition (which what was the issue with the 1977 "MASH" Season 7 DVD episode "Our Finest Hour" and Fox actually said why the episode was a syndicated print in the menu) or could there have been a musical clearance issue (a song was in the episode that wasn't cleared for use) or was it just a cost-cutting measure to use a syndicated print and not bother to look for the original master CBS network print if it's still intact. This is from 1978, and Sony showed a Soap episode from that year in it's hour format on their Season 2 disc, so it could exist, knowing all the Norman Lear shows are still around, and probably the network master tapes. catlover79 09-29-2007, 02:00 AM I actually liked Season 6 - there were plenty of entertaining stories and funny moments. |
