If you were really in love with someone and a gunman was aiming his gun at them, would you jump in front of your lover and take the bullet for them?

Just asking though:

Any chance in this scenario that I'm from Krypton?

You bet I would!!! I'd take a bullet for friends, and I'd take 1000 bullets for my mom if I had to. I would hope I'd do it even for someone who wasn't a loved one, but unfortunately I don't know if I could be that heroic. LOL!!

Thank God someone said it. I feel like a jerk whenever this question is asked because I'm always thinking...yeah, I don't see myself doing that. I'd try to save them and myself if possible.

Aww, I think it's so sweet the way you care for your Mom. I'm the same way with my Mom :)

And, yes, I'd take a thousand bullets for any of my family members in a heartbeat, as well as for my close friends.

Well, if it was them die and me having to live without them, then yes. Because I don't want to be alone. I'm selfish like that. And depressed.

Thanks Number 9 Dream!! :) Most mom's are definitely very special people. Without my mom, I'd honestly probably be either dead, or living on the streets somewhere. So the way I figure it, my life is the least that I could give her. And of course, there's also that selfish thing that Cathy brought up, of not wanting to deal with the pain of living without her.

Btw, I think it's awesome how much you care for your family as well. Your family obviously raised a great daughter!! :)

I would take a bullet for only a handful of people. My husband and the few close family members I have (5 to be exact). Everyone else is on their own.

i had a friend whose dog was named Bullet, and yes, i DID jump in front of Bullet to save someone's life from an extraodinarily uncomfortable death drowning in a puddle of drool.

Only if I had some weird disease and I had 1 day to live, but otherwise I wouldn't have the courage.

Of course I would, but since I'm so short it would probably still hit my husband

I would jump in front of anything for my kids.

I don't think I would have the courge to do it. I would probably regret not doing anything about it afterwards.

If I've got time to be able to jump in front of a bullet, wouldn't I also have time to, say, push them out of the way - in fact, assuming you're not sloppy, if you push them out of the way, you just, oh, I don't know, MIGHT NOT GET SHOT YOURSELF.

Just saying...

Same here. I wouldn't have the courage in doing it. I would also try and push them out of the way from the side instead of "jump" in front of them.

There is still a huge possibility that you yourself could get shot...........................:(
