Every Friday in July & August starting July 7, at 3pm and 10pm
Classic movies are back for nostalgic enjoyment all summer long on TV Land.
We all know them and we all love them. We have all seen these movies so many times…yet we still love to watch them whenever they are on.
“Pee Wee’s Big Adventure”, “Caddyshack”, “Top Gun”
TV Land, your home for classic shows…and movies this summer!
Airdates and titles are as follows for JULY:
Friday, July 7 3-5p and 10p-12a
Behind The Cameras: Three’s Company Movie (2003)
This telefilm takes you behind the camera as the cast, crew, and producers deal with turmoil on the set of "Three's Company", including Suzanne Somers and her contract renegotiating, numerous cast changing, spin-offs, betrayal, and lying.
Friday, July 14 3-5p and 10p-12a
Pee Wee’s Big Adventure (1985)
The love of Pee-wee Herman's life is his bicycle. When it is stolen, he is sent on a wild cross country adventure after a fortune teller tells him his bicycle is in the basement of the Alamo. Along the way, Pee-wee has a series of cartoon-like encounters with characters even crazier than he is including an escaped convict, a waitress with wanderlust and a jealous boyfriend, and a mysterious female truck driver.
Followed by an Andy Griffith Show episode at 5:30pm and 12:30am.
Friday, July 21 10p-12:30a
Caddyshack (1980)
Greenskeeper Carl Spackler is about to start WWIII - against a gopher. Pompous Judge Smails plays to win but his niece Lacey wants to score her own way. Playboy Ty Webb shoots perfect golf by becoming the ball. And country club loudmouth Al Czervik just doubled a $20,000 bet on a 10-foot putt. Insanity? No. Caddyshack. Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, Bill Murray and Ted Knight tee off for a side-splitting round of fairway foolishness. With Harold Ramis directing, the comic skills of all four blend in a riotous hole-in-one for comedy fans as the term "golf nut" takes on a deranged double meaning - and nonstop laughter is par for the course!
Followed by a special I Love Lucy episode 12:30a!
Friday, July 28 10p-12:30a & 1a-2:30a
Top Gun (1986)
Maverick (Tom Cruise) is a hot pilot. When he encounters a pair of MiGs over the Persian Gulf, his wingman is clearly outflown and freaks. On almost no fuel, Maverick is able to talk him back down to the Carrier. When his wingman turns in his wings, Maverick is moved up in the standings and sent to the Top Gun Naval Flying School. There he fights the attitudes of the other pilots and an old story of his father's death in combat that killed others due to his father's error. Maverick struggles to be the best pilot, stepping on the toes of his other students and in a different way to Charlie, a civilian instructor to whom he is strongly attracted.
Followed by a special Andy Griffith Show episode at and 12:30a and 3:30a!

Attached is the line-up:
Chelsea 05-19-2006, 08:52 PM 12:30 PM - now THAT'S a vote of CONFIDENCE! They expect the show to fail, so they put it in a so-so timeslot, thus making it MUCH easier for the show TO fail. Vicious cycle.
Wow, no marathon for 227, not even a late afternoon/primetime slot? Must not be expected to do well...But, maybe since it airs nights on TVOne, they have to air it at a different time?
TVJunkie101 05-19-2006, 09:01 PM Wow.
What a crappy arrival for 227! And even Benson is stuck at one timeslot ... ouch.
gilligan fanatic 05-20-2006, 05:44 PM Top Gun on TV Land, wow. Why not air Return to Mayberry and the Munsters Revenge and stuff like that.
judgestone 05-20-2006, 06:22 PM 227 only ran 3 season. I guess no 48 hour marathon. Im not gonna watch Brady Bunch marathon in July are they kidding? Did they already did that last weekend? Yes they did. I would very much like to see "Alice" & Night Court 48 hour marathon one more time.
Please dont tell me that 'alice is on IN2tv it not going to work because there is one problem with IN2tv because it is not closed captioned yet for hearing impaired bummer. I want tvland to add "Alice" with closed captioned this time please. Thank you:)
MikeLutton 05-20-2006, 07:44 PM am u kind wrong there judge stone 227 ran for 5 seasons
judgestone 05-20-2006, 11:27 PM Whatever you say. Im not going to watch 227 becasue Im not intersted watching it as I already saw 227 when it air on natural network so count me out tvland!!!!
MikeLutton 05-21-2006, 12:55 AM il be glad see it though but would rather see a Marathon and i hope tv land brings more 80 n 70s shows to its line up.im tired of 50s n 60s
I won't be watching "227" either. I've seen it and don't care to ever again.
Scoobiedoo30 05-21-2006, 11:45 AM I am going to enjoy 227 weekday's at 11:30 am Central Time on TV Land and I do have to say that The July Schedule looks Great
TVJunkie101 05-21-2006, 06:09 PM The past few schedules have been pretty good. More balance with a lot of the shows.
I won't be watching 227 on TV Land though. It's uncut on TVOne.
storrs19 05-22-2006, 12:09 PM Exactly. I watched it and taped every episode from TVOne as they don't butcher their shows like TVLand does. In fact TvOne and American Life TV are the only two channels I know of that don't.
Scoobiedoo30 05-22-2006, 12:20 PM I dont know if This Question has been asked but when TV Land get's The Cable Right's to 227 wil TVOne
will still air 227 weekday's at 4:00 pm Central Time
megamanj2004 05-22-2006, 12:37 PM The past few schedules have been pretty good. More balance with a lot of the shows.
I won't be watching 227 on TV Land though. It's uncut on TVOne.
Once again another '80s show gets the backburner treatment! Nice going, TV Land!
But you what, I get 227 locally anyway, so to hell w/ 227 on TV Land!
I look forward to Benson, though.
Not to mention that N@N had 227 a while back before they went the crappy '90s route if I might add.
Adamantium 05-22-2006, 11:14 PM Complain about new shows airing on TVLand all you want.... but MOVIES are the worst move the network has made. Movies related to TV (such as the Three's Company telefilm) make sense, but Caddyshack & Top Gun?! Classics, sure. But for TVLand?? Hell no.
I agree with you. Plus, I never liked movies on television. You have to edit for time and content and commercial breaks at the best part of the movie. Either watch movies in the theater or at home with a DVD or VHS. Television is for Television shows (and made for TV movies, which are different).
And for the record, I don't have a problem with the new shows coming to TV Land, I just wish they would go in rewind a little bit and show some more 50s and 60s sitcoms.
Pavan 05-22-2006, 11:36 PM It is strange. I think TV Movies from the 70s and 80s would have been better. Hopefully they air some later in the year. I enjoyed most of the TV movies they aired last season.
storrs19 05-23-2006, 10:28 AM Pav makes a good point. I remember last year they showed some good "made for tv" movies including "Helter Skelter" and "The Day After" both excellent movies not seen much anymore.
And for the record, I don't have a problem with the new shows coming to TV Land, I just wish they would go in rewind a little bit and show some more 50s and 60s sitcoms.
I do too. I think TV Land is in dire need of some new/additional 50s/60s sitcoms.
megamanj2004 05-23-2006, 03:49 PM Pardon me, but doesn't made-for-TV mvoies belong on a channel like Hallmark or AMC or something?
I mean I have no problems trying to check out a few new shows, but movies on a channel like TV Land?
Thanks, but I'll pass.
OK, it's been said by TheLink on the TV Land boards that a new 'blockbuster' 1960s show is coming in early fall. Any ideas? This will be the first 1960s show to come to TV Land since June, 2004.
TVJunkie101 05-28-2006, 08:24 AM Only show I know about coming in the fall is "The Jeffersons" and it's far from a 60s show.
I'm assuming Pav probably is aware of it...
I asked again to clarify, and he said it is definately another show that 'has not been announced' yet, but will be soon. He said there is another one that is under consideration that may be coming.
I like the movies that are airing this summer, but it just doesn't make any sense. The Movie of the Week Week last year was so much fun because these were popular movies, yet they were TV movies, so they fit perfectly on the channel. I think it would be cool if every Saturday was movie of the week night with an encore on Sunday afternoon.
The addition of a big 60s sitcom is interesting to me because, like someone already said, there hasn't been a new one in a long, long time (I think "Addams Family" was the last one?). They're saying blockbuster, and for some reason, I wouldn't be surprised if its something like "Beverly Hillbillies" or "Gilligan's Island." They're probably trying to make up for losing "Bewitched" and "I Dream of Jeannie" by putting on some equally popular 60s sitcoms. I'd love for it to be "That Girl" or "The Patty Duke Show," but I'm sure they won't be it.
And definitely, we need some more 50s and 60s shows. I have no problem with the 70s and 80s shows, but there should be an equality. I like that "Green Acres" and "The Munsters" air in the afternoon now, because around this time last year, it was 50s and 60s sitcoms only in the morning and 70s and 80s only at night, which was pretty annoying.
Pavan 05-29-2006, 12:35 PM TV Land Fan, where does he exactly say this? Some people have emailed me saying he has said it is a "60s sitcom." I have heard of a 60s show coming to TV Land this fall, but it is not a sitcom. That is all I will/can say. Please keep this all here. I don't want to this to spread until the news is official.
He told us that it was a 1960s "blockbuster show", never a sitcom. Don't know where that came from. Here is the post where it got out: http://www.tvland.com/boards/viewthread.jhtml?bID=56&tID=127705&mID=616716&offset=0&_DARGS=/boards/viewboard.jhtml.16_A&_DAV=2
James"Thunder"Early 05-29-2006, 02:03 PM I think 227 is a good choice for TVLAND, although the time slot is odd. I'll be watching and recording what I can.
Scoobiedoo30 05-29-2006, 02:15 PM Yes I agree 227 is a Greart hoice for TV Land
Pavan 05-29-2006, 02:40 PM The TV Land August thread should be coming soon (no changes to the regular schedule). Green Acres and Dick Van Dyke's current contract both expire at the end of the month. Hint: 1 of those two might be renewed. I've seen a "rough" September lineup, with The Jeffersons, and one of those two is only on the lineup, as of now. That is all I will say until the August thread is made. No further talk or posting of this anywhere else please. Thanks.
TVJunkie101 05-29-2006, 05:27 PM Not that everything he says is total gospel, but TheLink is stating that Green Acres will be renewed, and it's likely they'll let Dick Van Dyke go.
I'm a little surprised. I figured it would be the other way around. I like both shows, so it's not exactly great news ... heh.
Scoobiedoo30 05-29-2006, 06:00 PM I hope that TV Land does Renew Green Acres
The thought of a 1960s nonsitcom coming to TVLand definitely excites me. Of course, my desires want it to be "Peyton Place" or "Dark Shadows," but those will definitely not be it. Probably a crime drama.
The situation with GA and DVD is awkward. Both are great shows and it will be hard to see either one go. I think GA should stay, because DVD's had more rerun exposure over the last couple of years. GA's been back on national TV since 2004 after a loooooong time of not being around. I think DVD's been on national TV nonstop since it started on Nick at Nite in the 1990s.
MikeLutton 05-29-2006, 10:42 PM Green acers sucks i hope it goes
Generally, three or four years ago, if it was a 1960s show coming that I didn't like, I would be complaining, but, it's been so long since a new 60s show was added, I'm just happy that they're adding something from that era. I'd like it to be "Batman" or "Dragnet." Both have had decent runs on TV Land in the past.
I am suprised about DVD/GA. I was almost confident they would let Green Acres go, and was thinking they would renew DVD. I guess it's better that they kept Acres instead of Dick Van Dyke, considering that it's only been on TV Land for 2 years and Dick Van Dyke has been on 6 years + an extremely long run with Nick@Nite.
Pavan 05-30-2006, 11:54 AM Don't be too hyped for the '60s show. To me, I don't think many people will be happy, but that is what I think about that show. It certainly has a big following, though.
What I'm more hyped about is the TV Land Online Broadband Channel coming later this year. TheLink already talked about it, so I guess it is safe to talk a bit about it. It seems like it will play some new series that don't air on TV Land, along with some TV Land on-air shows, and of course TV Land originals. It sounds great to me.
And TheLink let the cat out of the bag again, yes, Green Acres was renewed and Dick Van Dyke was not. So you will see Green Acres in September. I hinted that sort of here: http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showpost.php?p=3105495&postcount=30
The end of September will see three more series expiring--Addams Family, SCTV and Hunter. I don't see them renewing any of those. No info on it yet, though.
So, this 60s show is coming to ON AIR TV Land (like the one we have now), right?
I'm hoping that "The Munsters" will be renewed in October. I think with them renewing "Green Acres", they should, because both seem to be a pair, so to speak.
Pavan 05-30-2006, 01:10 PM Yes, on-air.
Scoobiedoo30 05-30-2006, 01:30 PM I belive that The Munster will get Renewed in October of 2006
tvparadise 05-30-2006, 11:44 PM Very surprising about The Dick Van Dyke Show.
I would be very surprised if The Munsters does not get renewed and any of the ones expiring in September do. But I too definitely thought it would be the other way around with TDVDS and Green Acres. DVD has been paired up with Lucy for a while now, my guess is they may pair Lucy with Beaver in the mornings come fall.
Scoobiedoo30 05-31-2006, 12:04 AM I think that The Munsters will get Renewed
Ah, so STAR TREK is coming to TVLand?
That's the only show I can think of that fits the description.
Scoobiedoo30 06-02-2006, 01:20 AM I think it maybe a Sitcom
Pavan 06-02-2006, 01:47 AM I said it isn't a sitcom a few times already!
Dr. Jazz 06-02-2006, 08:21 AM Ah, so STAR TREK is coming to TVLand?
That's the only show I can think of that fits the description.
That's what I was thinking. For some reason though, I think it's gonna be "The Fugitive".
I wonder if it's Batman? If it's not that, I'd say it's Dragnet, Mission: Impossible, or The Fugitive. I'm about to die here. LOL
GSU2004 06-02-2006, 10:04 AM Wow, no marathon for 227, not even a late afternoon/primetime slot? Must not be expected to do well...But, maybe since it airs nights on TVOne, they have to air it at a different time?
I'm pissed about that too! I was looking forward to a 48 hour marathon of the show in July. But then for them to put it on during the day when many of us are at work is pathetic. I guess it must been some contractual issues since it comes on TVOne (assuming they will still have the rights to it also).
Michael72581 06-02-2006, 06:05 PM Since the new '60s show coming to TVLand is not a sitcom, I am hoping that its "Hawaii Five-O". That show has not been on cable television in reruns in a long time.
megamanj2004 06-02-2006, 06:24 PM Since the new '60s show coming to TVLand is not a sitcom, I am hoping that its "Hawaii Five-O". That show has not been on cable television in reruns in a long time.
The last time 5-0 was on cable was on Hallmark a few years back, but ever since Hallmark slashed a lot of shows between late 2004 and 2005, they've gone downhill w/ M*A*S*H rerun-abuse galore and nothin' but lame crime drams, w/ the exception of very few shows.
Well, TheLink is on the verge of letting the cat out of the bag once again. It's really starting to sound like Star Trek.
Jack1000 06-03-2006, 11:09 AM Guys,
Any news at all on The Odd Couple coming back to TV Land? With the world waiting for a DVD release, why TV Land cant bring this great show back mystifies me!
Jack
Pavan 06-03-2006, 12:49 PM It is Star Trek. I think my clues were so obvious. Good job JT!
They had so many good crime dramas that it's ridiculous. Columbo, McMillan and Wife, Kojak, McCloud, Banacek, Hawaii Five-O, Hart to Hart, Quincy ME and Ironside all rocked. I spent so many Sunday afternoons watching them all.
But I still have a huge grudge with Hallmark because they purchased the rights to air the classic soap opera The Doctors, yet they never have. It pisses me off because DOC is one of the few soaps that have a majority of its 1970s episodes in existence, and those were the glory days of soaps, especially DOC. These are episodes that will probably never air on TV again and it pains me. Even My Mother the Car and Cop Rock got reran at some point.
It is Star Trek. I think my clues were so obvious. Good job JT!
LOL!
I don't think they were toooo obvious, but it wasn't really hard for me to figure out. I mean, it has an extremely huge fanbase, and it just doesn't seem like one of your type of shows, and I know not toooo many people here are big fans. It was either that or...I really can't think of anything else LOL
I won't be watching, but I guess it's nice to see it on a widespread cable net. One of those useless digital cable channels airs it too (but with annoying stuff all around the screen), but I doubt too many people have it (but of course, I do. Still no SOAPnet, though).
There really is no justice in the world of cable TV, I swear.
Pavan 06-13-2006, 10:10 AM The 12-4AM weekday marathons that started June 12 will continue in July and August as well. And weekend 12-4AM marathons will be added starting July 1, with The Munsters airing Saturday nights and Leave it to Beaver on Sunday nights, both from 12-4AM. As of July 3, Night Court will be off the line-up (a hiatus).
Scoobiedoo30 06-14-2006, 10:35 AM I am going to Miss Night Court on TV Land Line up and I hope
that Night Court Returns to The Schedule.
rodwayne 06-14-2006, 04:19 PM NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,NOOOOO!!!Not StarTrek!!!That's bad enough! But to put on movies like Top Gun?Three's Company movie?!?Why not do what they did last year and put on made-for T.V. movies, not run into the ground movies. But I forgot;this is Nick At Nite T.V. Land and for them to do something right is too much like right:mad: :livid: :cuss:
Pavan 06-14-2006, 06:28 PM TV Land's Better Living Through Television block returns July 2. But on July 9 they will make some schedule changes to that block. Details:
Sunday mornings BLTT block effective July 9

9:30AM I Love Lucy (replaces Green Acres)

10:30AM The Addams Family (replaces I Love Lucy)
11:00AM Green Acres (replaces Brady Bunch)
11:30AM The Andy Griffith Show (replaces Happy Days)
judgestone 06-14-2006, 08:09 PM Hmm it intersting tvland still have the bad habits. Now let see what happen from now to July is doing. If tvland keep this up of their nasty habit then it will turn into PBS that nobody watch. Well we will wait and see what happen.
I guess TBS and other cable network is doing pretty well are they? May I take guess that the most cable network rerun primetime rating, Pavan? TBS has the most rerun primetime rating am I close, Pavan?
OOPS
Im sorry I push the wrong menu this was suppose to be about the wedding was cancelled that Pavan mention today I apolize if anyone is puzzle for what Im talking about.
I like that they're bringing "Addams Family" back. I find it very exciting that they're giving the 50s/60s shows decent treatment for a change!!
EricIdlefan 06-16-2006, 01:18 AM I wished that they would air those tv movies of the week like they did in 2005! The greatest tv movies ever! Like Brian's Song, the Day After, the Boy in the Plastic Bubble, etc!
Pavan 07-07-2006, 10:10 AM Last minute TV Land changes starting Wednesday, July 12, 2006:
Mon-Fri:
11:00AM-2:00PM Mini-Marathons: Leave it to Beaver (Monday), Three's Company (Tuesday), Sanford & Son (Wednesday), Good Times (Thursday), All in the Family (Friday) -- replaces (All in the Family, Sanford & Son, What's Happening!!, 227, Cheers, Wings)
Everynight:
11:30PM Three's Company (replaces Benson)
Monday nights:
12:00AM-4:00AM Three's Company (replaces Benson)
Friday nights:
12:00AM-4:00AM Benson (replaces Three's Company)
Saturdays:
1:00PM Wings (replaces Bonanza)
1:30PM Night Court (replaces Bonanza cont.)
Sundays:
1:00PM Cheers (replaces Gunsmoke)
1:30PM 227 (replaces Gunsmoke cont.)
Everything else is the same as before.
Chelsea 07-07-2006, 10:38 AM DANG they managed to all=but-kill 227 quickly. Once per WEEK?? I mean, at least with Night Court they made it through a run or two first, and with Wings they drop and add it almost recklessly...but they didn't even make it through one SEASON of 227....
And Benson is getting progressively worse-treated. Why is it always the shows I like. Guess they certainly fixed the airplays problem on Three's Company - 28 airings per week by my count. EDIT: EXCUSE ME, I mean 36. I love TC, but YEESH.
They ALREADY moved 227???????? What? I watched it yesterday and kinda liked it. I guess the ratings were very poor.
The 1950s-1970s shows must be doing well, considering they're still airing in the morning, evening, and late night hours, which I'm glad about. TV Land is getting better.

Repeat airings within 24 hours do not count towards airplays.
On a normal week: 17 new episodes and 25 total airings. So, 17 airplays.
It doesn't air Fridays 11p-12a, because of TV Land movies.

At some point, my focus shifted from airplays to airings. In addition, I got a bit confused on the prime time scheduling - I had Three's Company, Benson, Addams, and Beaver right in my mind, but the Tuesday-Thursday shows that I thought were primetime were actually the in-day airings. (Hence the two TC marathons thought)
That said, even though same-day repeats don't count towards airplays, there's still 17 new shows per week. All TVLand is doing by running the show 17 airplays per week (25 total) is digging themselves right BACK into the hole they just spent 8 months digging themselves OUT of.
If it wasn't the shows it was getting replaced, I probably honestly wouldn't be as mad. But this is the first time I've gotten to see 227 on TV at ALL in two years (hotel I was in had TVOne), and in the comfort of my own home/VCR/DVR in FIVE years (the N@N airings in 2001). And as for Benson? This is the first chance I've ever had to watch the show (I missed reruns in the 90s unfortunately)., and I'm loving every second. If TV Land was airing Benson, I was watching TV Land. I like TC well and good, but it's not something I go out of my way to watch every instance of. Benson was. MY DVR's been working overtime since Benson debuted as well. (Watch AND record). And I still love Wings and continue to be surprised at how TV Land treats it (borderline schizophrenia)
tvparadise 07-07-2006, 01:47 PM That's unfortunate. Way to further kill the variety. I was enjoying the "lunch time" block of shows. I was really starting to like What's Happening!!, but I guess we shouldn't worry too much as it could very well return in 2 weeks with all these constant changes.
I understand its all about the ratings, but the list of shows on hiatus/weekends only just seems to be getting a little too big. I never expected to see Cheers as a weekend only show.
I find it interesting that Wings keeps hanging in there while shows that have just been aquired over the last year and promoted somewhat heavily (What's Happening!! and Night Court) go on hiatus. I don't have anything against Wings, it just seems like it would be the show getting pulled, I guess it does a little better than those other 2.
227 has to be a record-setter for debuting in the middays and being shifted to weekends in less than 2 weeks.
It seems that for the most part, the majority of those 6 shows that TV Land aquired over the last 2 years have not worked out so well.
Good Times has done well and I'm sure The Jeffersons will do the same.
Out of the other 4, it seems What's Happening!! did better than Night Court, which did better than Benson, which is doing better than 227.
Scoobiedoo30 07-07-2006, 02:30 PM So wait Benson will nolonger air weeknight's at 10:30 pm Central Time
Have you all noticed something?
Seems like it's always the 1980s shows getting pulled, shoved around, going on hiatus, skipping around the schedule, etc - can we say that for a 1950s, 1960s, or for the most part 1970s show on TV Land? First it was Family Ties....then it was Kids Say....then Hunter....now Wings, 227, Benson, Night Court, MacGyver, Highway to Heaven, Vice, Simon and Simon, and Knight Rider etc....I have yet to see an entirely 80s show do well. I like some 1980s shows, but I just don't see them going over well on TV Land. They're getting back on the right track acquiring Star Trek.
It's funny...you have shows like The Munsters, Leave it to Beaver, Sanford and Son, Andy Griffith, Gunsmoke, I Love Lucy, etc...which continue to be successful after being on for years- then you have the shows like I mentioned above, and they barely last a year. I just don't see 1980s shows and TV Land working out. Hopefully they realize that.
Pavan 07-07-2006, 02:38 PM The afternoon block of WH, Cheers, Wings didn't bomb, it did OK, but they wanted to encore the mini-marathons, and it is unfortunate that 227 was in that block.
'70s shows do the best on TV Land. '80s have done well, MacGyver, Miami Vice, etc. all did very well at the start. Benson and Night Court's marathons both were good. The A-Team is enjoying a second great run on TV Land daily. Besides Star Trek, I don't think they will air another 60s shows in the near future...maybe online, but I doubt on-air.
Scoobiedoo30 07-07-2006, 03:20 PM I am going to miss What's Happening I sure hope What Happening comes back to The Schedule
I am still hoping for more 'old' shows, though, it never hurts to keep requesting them. The Link says the evening schedule from 5-8pm was sort of a 'test' due to the amount of requests for more 50s and 60s programming. I'm assuming that must be doing well?
Pavan 07-07-2006, 04:43 PM TAGS/LITB is doing the best in the late evening (5-8pm).
Scoobiedoo30 07-07-2006, 05:00 PM I Feel like this is a repeat of The Summer of 1988
you see in The Summer of 1988 WVUE put Benson
on Hiatus so the station can put Night Court in The 10:35 pm
Time Slot.
Figures about LITB/TAGS - I just hope LITB will re-join Andy at the 9pm hour sometime in the near future.
brtcmfn 07-07-2006, 07:13 PM Well if TAGS/LITB are doing well- when is TV Land going to wake up and start airing more classics from the 50's/60's-
(Burns and Allen/Bilko, Car 54, I married Joan, etc, etc)
benjamoon 07-07-2006, 07:18 PM It's too bad to hear about these changes. I've been enjoying the Cheers/Wings block, I've been beginning to get into Benson and I even wanted to give 227 a chance.
TVJunkie101 07-07-2006, 07:57 PM TV Land is getting on my nerves. LOL. All they've done the past month and a half is change their schedule on an almost weekly basis. If Miami Vice, Benson did well at first, what happened? And didn't What's Happening!! score well to? I just don't get it. Although I love the 80s shows, N@N and TVL seem to finally realize they aren't working on their networks. I think the 80s shows should just get their own network and rotate...
We better get some damn good shows on TV Land Broadband.
And I'm most ticked off about Benson. I'm like Seth ... FINALLY getting to watch the show and truly become a HUGE fan of it... I get it will still air on the mini-marathon, but still ... (and I have TVOne, so that's why I'm not *too* upset about 227, although that was pretty crappy how TVL treated it).
marmalade 07-07-2006, 08:09 PM I wonder why they feel the need to encore the mini-marathons. :( How many times a day do they think people will wanna see the same episodes, of the same shows? What ever happened to variety?
I think PAX/i will become the new 80s network. I think it's in TV Land's best interest to stick to mainly 60s-70s. Not many of the more recent shows have been long-term successes (except, for like PB mentioned, MacGyver and A-Team) like Beaver, Andy, Munsters, etc.
Skywalker 07-07-2006, 09:24 PM More schedule changes, more confusion. I doubt I'll be watching tvland all that much until they start airing the Jeffersons in Sept.
GSU2004 07-07-2006, 11:49 PM I wonder why they feel the need to encore the mini-marathons. :( How many times a day do they think people will wanna see the same episodes, of the same shows? What ever happened to variety?
Mini marathons are cool for the summer especially since you have the college students back home and such looking for things to watch but why must they dominate prime hours of the network when they have shows such as Night Court and 227 that they don't have room for.
faraj 07-08-2006, 01:34 AM Have you all noticed something?

Seems as if TV Land can't make up their minds on the scheduling. But I wish they would.
I decided to make up a list of the shows currently on hiatus/weekends/marathon only, and the ones on the lineup:
Hiatus/Weekends/marathon only:
Benson
227
Cheers
Night Court
Wings
What's Happening!!
The Addams Family
The Flip Wilson Show
Hunter
Highway to Heaven
MacGyver
Knight Rider
Simon and Simon
Miami Vice
SCTV
Regular Lineup:
Leave it to Beaver
The Andy Griffith Show
Bonanza
Gunsmoke
I Love Lucy
The Dick Van Dyke Show
The Munsters
Green Acres
Happy Days
The Brady Bunch
Sanford and Son
Good Times
Three's Company
The A-Team
Little House on the Prairie
All in the Family
-
Pretty long list of shows with limited airings. Most of those I'm glad are limited though, lol. The weekday lineup is looking better and better, byfar the best in the past year and a half.
judgestone 07-08-2006, 11:01 AM They will bring the show back to regular schedules in the either August or September.
The Munster contract expired in October 31st. & They are not going to renew Dick Van Dyke show in August 31st. That what Link say they are pulling Dick Van Dyke show out in August 31st.
I think they will renew The Munsters. If it's doing well enough to air in an evening timeslot, and they renewed Green Acres (which I understand doesn't do as well as TM), I suspect they'll renew it.
judgestone 07-08-2006, 03:56 PM I dont think they are not going to renew the Munster they only ran 3 season that is enough for tvland (I dont know how long that they aired on tvland I dont watch the Munster myself) the Munster viewer probaly has on taped or on dvd recorded already they are done & they just move on or they bought DVD. Maybe tvland made a mistake that they renewed Green Acres I think I know why it didnt do well this time. I have no idea when GA contract is up probaly 6 month or 1 more year.
Green Acres expired at the end of August, but they've already renewed. I don't know how long though, probably 2 or 3 year contract like they had?
Pavan 07-09-2006, 08:19 PM I am still hoping for more 'old' shows, though, it never hurts to keep requesting them. The Link says the evening schedule from 5-8pm was sort of a 'test' due to the amount of requests for more 50s and 60s programming. I'm assuming that must be doing well?
I think TV Land Online will be better. I doubt TV Land on-air will have any more 60s shows in the near future, unless it is a western. Not counting Star Trek, since that is officially coming.
Kristen 07-12-2006, 09:58 PM So now we only get Wings once a week?! Ugh. Thank God we have Season 3 coming on DVD in Oct, b/c this doesn't look good.
Adamantium 07-13-2006, 06:00 PM So now we only get Wings once a week?! Ugh. Thank God we have Season 3 coming on DVD in Oct, b/c this doesn't look good.
Does TVLand air the episodes of "Wings" that N@N wouldn't air a few years ago? I have most of the episodes on tape from USA, but I was just curious if they ever aired the episodes. And have they changed the edit in "Das Plane", taking out a line from Antonio about being a terrorist or something like that.
shipoopi 07-17-2006, 08:24 PM Is that still on? I gave up on that when they killed off Mannix, Barnaby Jones and many other cool 70's shows.
Why couldn't they schedule shows as such:
Sundays & Wednesdays: Only '50's shows
Mondays & Thursdays: Only '60's shows
Tuesdays & Fridays: Only '70's shows
Saturdays: Only '80's shows
or, how about this:
Everyday:
12:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m.: Only '50's shows
6:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.: Only '60's shows
12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.: Only '70's shows
6:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.: Only '80's shows
Less product but more variety - Something for everyone.

Everything else is the same...so if a time slot is not listed, it remains the SAME!
This will be at least through August...September might be a bit effected, we will let you know as soon as we know.
Scoobiedoo30 07-20-2006, 02:30 PM This Seems likev a Awsome Schedule witch start's July 24, 2006 so I guest this means All In The Family will air once aq week at 12:00 am Easten Time 11:00 pm Central on Thursdy Night's
Pavan 07-20-2006, 02:38 PM Read the write-up of these changes here:
http://www.sitcomsonline.com/blog/2006/07/more-last-minute-tv-land-schedule.html
Oh well, they had a decent schedule for a few weeks at least. So no more Green Acres in the evenings? That's strange, considering that they've just renewed it. I'm totally baffled by Little House on the Prairie at 7 AND 8pm - I really don't see that working too well.
Horrible changes.
Pavan 07-20-2006, 03:28 PM No, no more Green Acres in the evenings. September will have to be edited a bit now.
Maybe something like this:
5PM Good Times
5:30PM The Jeffersons
I see 6-8PM remaining the same (Beaver/TAGS/LHOTP)
They can only air LHOTP between 7pm-7am. Hallmark has the rights to air it 7am-7pm.
As for the early morning block in Sept., I could see them keeping what they had before.
Scoobiedoo30 07-20-2006, 03:40 PM I hope that The Good Times airs at 4:00 pm and The Jeffersons at 4:30 pm in September
Pavan 07-20-2006, 03:53 PM I think they want to test Murphy. They had planned on it and I guess they finally are testing it.
Scoobiedoo30 07-20-2006, 04:05 PM what if Murphy Brown does well do you think TV Land will Add Murphy Brown to the TV Land Schedule
Pavan 07-20-2006, 04:11 PM I don't know. It could just be for these last 6 weeks of the summer. If TV Land adds it in September it'll be between 3-6am or maybe a long shot, somewhere between 12-2pm.
Chelsea 07-20-2006, 04:25 PM Well, I for one am thrilled to see Murphy on TV Land. Now that it's on a network not dominated by Fresh Prince and Roseanne, maybe now it'll have a chance.
Yeah, I realise how likely that last sentence is. But so help me, I know I'll be watching, and I wasn't watching that slot before, so it's a definite plus for me.
I honestly think The Munsters and Green Acres failed in their timeslots from 6-7 because of, like someone else said, the time. People are eating dinner, or outside considering it's summertime, etc. I think it would be interesting if they tried re-working it like this:
5:00PM Good Times
5:30PM Good Times
6:00PM Leave it to Beaver
6:30PM The Andy Griffith Show
7:00PM Little House on the Prairie
8:00PM The Munsters
8:30PM Green Acres
9:00PM The Andy Griffith Show
9:30PM Leave it to Beaver
10:00PM Sanford and Son
10:30PM Good Times
11:00PM Three's Company
11:30PM Three's Company
With TV Land though, who knows...they'll probably have something different a month from now.
Adamantium 07-20-2006, 05:52 PM I think it's kind of neat that "Murphy Brown" will be on TV Land for a while. I mean, The Munsters has been on TV Land for years now and both seasons are out on DVD. Since MB is getting the shaft on DVD, I think the fans need it on in reruns at a decent time.
I'm not crazy about the Little House on the Prarie block. But I hardly ever, if ever, watch TV Land anymore so I won't notice.
Chelsea 07-20-2006, 06:33 PM (it did bad on N@N).
The numbers weren't abysmal...the problem is that it was doing poorly when compared to shows like Fresh Prince and Roseanne, which continue to do blockbuster for N@N.
judgestone 07-20-2006, 07:42 PM Sound like TBS beat them to it during 5pm to 7pm slot eastern time.
It not going to helped tvland change during dinner time slot. I still watch Lifetime and TBS during weekly dinner hour.
I just looked, and it seems that All in the Family will not be on the regular lineup, which is strange.
Scoobiedoo30 07-20-2006, 08:00 PM TV Land will have an All In The Family Marathon from 11:00 pm until 3:00 am on Thurdsday Night's
Yeah, I was meaning the daily lineup, but at least there's still a marathon.
Pavan 07-20-2006, 09:04 PM All in the Family will return to daily airings in September.
Kristen 07-20-2006, 09:36 PM 4 hours of MB on Sat nights? There IS a God! ;) I hope TVL sticks w/ this for awhile at least. Thanks for the heads up, Pav!
Scoobiedoo30 07-20-2006, 09:50 PM I am so glad to Leard that All In The Family will return to
The weekday Schedule in September of 2006
judgestone 07-20-2006, 10:20 PM This is going to be a boring 48 hour of Brady Bunch this weekend and the rating for tvland for this weekend will be big fat zero!!!!!
I know I wont be watching it this weekend YAWN!!!!
I rather watch 48 hour of Stephen Kings movies marathon for a changes on tvland & he make great movies more than 2 parts.
tvparadise 07-20-2006, 11:16 PM I was enjoying "Green Acres" at 6p.m., but I'm really surprised that it and "The Munsters" lasted as long as they did during that hour.
As for another "Little House"....puke:
I love TV Land, but it's really getting to where you have to like a certain 5 or so shows in order to watch it.
I don't know why but I have a feeling that back to back LHOTP will falter quickly. I know it works on Hallmark, but I just don't see it working well on TV Land. Hopefully they'll have more last minute changes and get rid of one of those airings soon afterwards.
rodwayne 07-24-2006, 03:30 PM I don't know why they brought on LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRE in the frist place since it's was already on HALLMARK.That's one example of doing something stupid.Changing the schedule 100 times in a month, running the same ol',same ol' shows forever, ect, ect, ect!!!If it wasn't for WHAT'S HAPPENING,BENSON,and trying to catch the last season of GOOD TIMES,I'll wash my hands of this channel.
faraj 07-24-2006, 03:32 PM I don't know why but I have a feeling that back to back LHOTP will falter quickly. I know it works on Hallmark, but I just don't see it working well on TV Land. Hopefully they'll have more last minute changes and get rid of one of those airings soon afterwards.
I agree. Don't get me wrong, though. I love LHOTP, but that having that show back-to-back is just too much.
faraj 07-24-2006, 03:33 PM I don't know why they brought on LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRE in the frist place since it's was already on HALLMARK.That's one example of doing something stupid.Changing the schedule 100 times in a month, running the same ol',same ol' shows forever, ect, ect, ect!!!If it wasn't for WHAT'S HAPPENING,BENSON,and trying to catch the last season of GOOD TIMES,I'll wash my hands of this channel.
TV Land just can't make up their minds on their line-up.
Pavan 07-25-2006, 10:14 AM Last minute change:
Pee Wee's Big Adventure has been scheduled for late Saturday, July 29 from 4a-6a (after Murphy Brown) and Sunday, July 30 from 12p-2p.
Yet another stupid move. I sometimes wonder what these crazy programmers are thinking.
Pavan 07-28-2006, 03:27 PM Effective today, the 3pm movie airings will air 1am Friday nights.
Scoobiedoo30 07-28-2006, 03:44 PM What is going to Happen to The Benson Marathrons wich is scheduled to air at 1:00 am Easten Time 12:00 pm Central Time on TV Land
Pavan 07-28-2006, 03:58 PM No Benson tonight at all. Next week it might be on for a half hour at 3:30am, since the movie is only 2 hours.
Scoobiedoo30 07-28-2006, 04:19 PM I sure hope that TV Land airs Benson early Saturday, August 5, 2006 at 2:30 am Centeal Timer
Scoobiedoo30 07-29-2006, 01:00 AM Does anybody know since TV Land is airing Top Gun at 12:00 am
what is TV Land airing at 2:30 am Central Time.
Pavan 07-29-2006, 01:23 AM The TV show following the movie! Andy Griffith this week.
Scoobiedoo30 07-29-2006, 01:30 AM is The 2:30 am Andy Griffith Show The same episode as 11:30 pm
Pavan 07-29-2006, 02:02 AM Yes...
faraj 07-29-2006, 02:27 AM What's going to happen with Benson? Is it still on the TV Land line-up?
Scoobiedoo30 07-29-2006, 10:59 AM I want to TV Land website www,tvland.com and and went to the schedule page for on Friday, August 4, 2006 and they still have Benson Schedule
from 11:30 pm until 3:00 am Central Time.
Pavan 07-29-2006, 11:48 AM Benson will air next Friday night at 3:30am. It will air August 11 from 12am-4am, since there is no movie that night. Aug. 18 it is pre-empted again I believe. Aug 25. and Sept. 1 it will air 12-4am, then the following week it returns every night at 3am.
Scoobiedoo30 07-29-2006, 12:00 PM I am glad to know that Benson will be airing THis Coming Saturday, August 6, 2006 at 2:30 am Then on Friday, August 11, 2006 from 11:00 pm until 3:00 am and Then August 25, 2006 from 11:00 pm until 11:00 pm until 3:00 am and then The week after Returns to The Weeknight Schedule
at 2:00 am
judgestone 07-30-2006, 01:58 PM Tvland really need to straighten it out or hire new programming director from now til end of Dec or else they will end up like Hallmark that they has for sales. Tvland programmer really need get help & call for change their mind hotline group therapy :) if they dont get helped then the rating is not going to be pretty. Im glad I dont watch Tvland anymore except just one show only on Saturday at noon Night Court that about it if they change their mind last minutes again then Im gone.
I hope that TBS still air Home Improvement in 2007 I much rather watch it on TBS than NAN when it arrive in 2007.
Pavan 07-31-2006, 03:58 PM Benson will air next Friday night at 3:30am. It will air August 11 from 12am-4am, since there is no movie that night. Aug. 18 it is pre-empted again I believe. Aug 25. and Sept. 1 it will air 12-4am, then the following week it returns every night at 3am.
Little update on Benson:
