Disney Channel is betting that "That's So Raven," its most successful series, can be the source of another winning show.

"Cory in the House," the channel's first series spinoff, will feature characters Cory and Victor Baxter from "That's So Raven" and will be set in the White House, the channel said Thursday. A November premiere is planned.

"Raven" stars Kyle Massey and Rondell Sheridan will reprise their roles as the son and father, now adjusting to life in Washington after dad Victor is chosen as personal chef to the newly elected president, Richard Martinez.

The role of President Martinez has yet to be cast.

Living in the staff quarters of the White House with his father, teenager Cory has to contend with the antics of the president's 8-year-old daughter and adjust to life at an exclusive Washington school.

Marc Warren and Dennis Rinsler, executive producers for "That's So Raven," are in charge of "Cory in the House."

"That's So Raven," which debuted in 2003 and stars actress-singer Raven-Symone ("The Cosby Show"), has wrapped production but will continue to air new episodes in which Raven pursues her dream of becoming a fashion designer.

The series was the channel's most-watched and had the most episodes produced, 100. It also spawned a merchandising wave of DVDs, video games, clothing, dolls and books.

Raven-Symone, who begins a concert tour next week, just completed filming on the Disney Channel movie "The Cheetah Girls 2," about four friends aspiring to be pop stars. The TV movie will debut in August.

Yeah, Tanya was kinda useless in TSR. I like the episodes where she wasn't in there better.

But I am getting into the Suite Lilfe! :eek: I never thought I'd say it, but one night I had nothing else to watch, and Suite Life was on, and I actually thought it wasn't so bad. The twins can get annoying though.

It could be a success...I'll watch the first episode out of curiousity which I'm sure alot of TSR fans will do. It'll probably get alot of the younger TSR fans too.

Yeah I might watch it too, just to see how good it is. But it is NEVER going to be as good as TSR was.

Hail to 'Cory' at Disney Channel

Disney Channel is set to go into production on its first series spinoff, "Cory in the House," which features two characters from the network's hit comedy "That's So Raven." In the series, Kyle Massey and Rondell Sheridan will reprise the roles they have played for the past four years -- Cory and Victor Baxter, a son and father now making the move to the White House. While Raven goes off to college and mom Tanya moves to the U.K. to finish law school, Victor is handpicked to be the personal chef to the newly elected president. He and Cory move into the staff quarters of the White House and must contend with characters including the president's sly 8-year-old daughter and his no-nonsense personal adviser. Basically, T'keyah Keymah, who played Raven's mother Tanya, left the show towards the end of season 3. In the show, they have said that she's in London pursuing a law degree. I presume that she'll still be in London in this show too :lol:

I've read that she's supposed to making a few appearances but I don't know if thats true or not :\

I wonder when it's going to begin airing. Probably in winter of 2007, because is when most Disney shows make their debuts. I wonder when it will air. Probably at 7 taking Phnil of the Future's spot, but it's just a guess. The plot sounds a little eboring, and it will take a lot of getting used to with new characters and old characters gone(hense, Eddie and Chelsea). I sure hope Raven makes guest appearance(probably only 1 or 2 if any because the reason That's So Raven is over is because Raven did not want to go on with the series. She wants to get away from Disney, just like Hilary Duff).

I'll give it a chance, and so will most Raven fans. I'll bet that the pilot for this episode will be the highest rated one for any Disney show, just because it's a spinoff.
