Didn't want you to feel alone. Leave it to Beaver--it's one of my all time favorite shows. I could relate to it in several ways.

Jerry Mathers was about my age; we went to Berkeley the same time (I didn't know him though)

Tony Dow was about my older brother's age.

I had a personality a lot like the Beave's and my brother was so much like Wally, it was incredible, and our relationship was very similar. What is so interesting is (and I think this is true for a lot people), the characters on Leave it to Beaver remind you of actual people you know. When someone my age says, "Oh, that guy's an Eddie Haskell type", or "He reminds me of Gilbert, or she's like June Cleaver", we can relate. Except for Ward being a lot mellower than my own dad, we were much like the Cleavers.
(My own dad was sort of a hybrid between Archie Bunker and Mr. Arnold on the Wonder Years; I'd have to say more like the latter, though).

I'm glad, passionsfan79, that we both like the show.

Take care,
By the way--Miss Rayburn reminds me of my 8th grade math teacher
and Miss Landers of my good-looking 6th grade teacher.

Maybe people have a life outside this message board.
