I thought it was good. It left some things open, so I really don't know what's going to happen next with the character's lives. At least we see the gang together one last time.

View Full Version : Good Finale - Yay or Nay? Adamantium 05-18-2006, 09:27 PM I thought it was good. It left some things open, so I really don't know what's going to happen next with the character's lives. At least we see the gang together one last time. Skywalker 05-18-2006, 09:45 PM I liked it. I guess I was expecting more, like a scene with Eric and his parents, but overall, it was good. tvfan0101 05-18-2006, 10:00 PM I thought it was quite good. Better than I expected, at least. LecyGoransonfan 05-18-2006, 10:03 PM I thought it was pretty good but I was disappointed the way the very end was. I thought maybe they would say what they were doing in the future or something or have Donna and Eric get engaged again. I liked that line Kitty said "Speaking of daughters where has Laurie been?". I was just waiting for Lisa Robin Kelly (or even Christina Moore) to walk through the front door. Adamantium 05-18-2006, 10:06 PM I liked that line Kitty said "Speaking of daughters where has Laurie been?". I was just waiting for Lisa Robin Kelly (or even Christina Moore) to walk through the front door. That would have been great. In fact I kind of thought that myself. What would have been real great was if Kitty said "Where has Laurie been?" Then both Laurie's walk through the door together. Lisa Robin Kelly would say something like, "This is my friend, she's so like me." Or something corny like that. I wish there was more closure. But it was still a good episode. One of the best of this season. From here on in, That '70s Show is in reruns. Just as Point Place enters 1980, it all goes back to 1976 and the Pilot episode (In reruns anyways). Number 9 Dream 05-18-2006, 11:07 PM Guys, I'm really sad :crying: I had set up a tape to be recorded while I was at work, and it ended up only getting half the episode! I feel like crying and screaming all once :( Can someone please fill me in as to what happened with all the characters? Did they reveal Fez' homeland? Thanks for your help Mr. Television 05-18-2006, 11:18 PM I liked it. It was the first episode I've seen in almost 2 years and I got right back into it. I would have liked to see more of Eric but I guess you can't have everything. At least he was there. snl 70s show fan 05-18-2006, 11:26 PM Guys, I'm really sad :crying: I had set up a tape to be recorded while I was at work, and it ended up only getting half the episode! No one moved away or said 'goodbye' in a sense. I'm kinda depressed tonight, so maybe it's for the best that I didn't watch the finale. Thanks for your help Hyde had a really bad trip and quit the circle though it didn't last for long. His father showed up and gave him the record store. Kitty and Red decided to stay at Point Place. Jackie and Fez finally hooked up and they had their first kiss. Randy tried to win back Donna but to no avail. Kelso came back. He's still working at the Playboy club and he's now the supervisor. Eric came back and him and Donna are apparently back together. They never revealed Fez's homeland but they kept asking him where he was from and he never gave them a straight answer. ncrdbl1 05-18-2006, 11:50 PM At least Red one last hot burn on the french. Thanks for your help Fez did say that he was going to take a plane to Brazil and then take a plane from there back home. jom 05-19-2006, 12:09 AM Yeah, it was a pretty good episode....the line from Hyde about Red getting in one last "foot in the ass" was classic. In the other thread I had lamented that I always wanted the last scene to be Donna and Eric on the Vista Cruiser...it "almost" turned out that way much to my surprise. I'm pretty happy about that. I did get the impression they would get back together....there was any resolution on whether Donna would go to school. I don't see any reason why not though.... jom snl 70s show fan 05-19-2006, 12:46 AM Awwww!! :tehcool: I am glad that the characters had a happy ending, at least. Thanks for the re-cap, Donald :bighug:your very welcome im so sorry you didnt get to see the whole finale i liked it esp compared to the will abd grace finale the w&g finale stunk but i will save that rant for the w&g board Joker85 05-19-2006, 12:52 AM I'll be in the minority and say that I think it pretty much sucked. Granted, I haven't watched the show since Topher left, but...?? I mean, it was filled with clips, most of the cast members barely had anything to do in it (poor Don Starks had what, 2 lines?) And Eric came back and he and Donna kissed. So what? They didn't resolve anything, people have waited 8 years for something to happen with Eric and Donna and nothin. It ended with them running up the stairs and the countdown? I just....gah. I dunno, I thought it was abrupt and pretty much pointless. Topher and Ashton both seemed rather bored with the whole thing. And Jackie and Fez....no. That's just so wrong. This show used to be so good. It's really sad that it had such a crap final 2 seasons, and such a crap finale. FlashAmI 05-19-2006, 01:32 AM i liked the episode, wasnt great, but was nice to have some closure. im pretty damn sad that its ending :( Fred G. Sanford 05-19-2006, 01:37 AM I didn't exactly like it, yet I didn't exactly hate it either. It was just meh. It kind of lacked the closure that many past sitcoms had in their finales. Nothing really seemed resolved with this finale. It just abruptly ended with the countdown to 1980 with the license plate coming down with the '80 sticker on it. That got a "That was it?" reaction out of me. 8 years and this is all they could give us? I've watched the show ever since the pilot episode and was left rather disappointed. Disappointed both in how the episode was not that great and the fact that I no longer have any sitcoms to look forward to every week. True, I can watch the reruns but you can only watch those so many times. Oh well. Goodbye Point Place. Thanks for the memories. Mr. Television 05-19-2006, 01:45 AM It sounded like they had to practically drag Topher Grace back so they probably could only do so much. The show should have ended last year before Eric and Kelso left. 80sTrivia 05-19-2006, 06:18 AM I enjoyed the final episode as well, more so that the finale of Will and Grace. It was so great to see Eric (Topher Grace) return to Point Place and to be reunited with Donna and the rest of the gang. It was also fun to see Kelso return... and be the same bungling idiot he has always been. I liked the fact the final episode was set on New Year's Eve, 1979... the perfect date to end a show that really defied all the odds to be a spectacular success. I wish all of the cast members the best of luck in anything they do in the future. All of the actors did such an excellent job in making this show one of the best sitcoms in the past decade! Thanks for making us all laugh!!! comedyfreak 05-19-2006, 09:24 AM I liked the last show, but I wish they could have shown the entire gang upstairs when they said 3, 2, 1 Happy New Year then fade out. Or have Eric proposing to Donna and her accepting just before the count down. I've seen worse final shows, like 7th Heaven. seventiesgirl 05-19-2006, 10:45 AM I thought the whole thing was ambiguous as hell. Did Donna and Eric get back together? I wasn't sure about that at all. Or is she going on to college and leaving him behind? Is he finished with Africa? Jackie and Fez were just gross. Even the writers of the final ep seemed to skirt around the issue of the two of them getting together. Okay, I'll be honest, the one kiss they shared had me screaming at the television, "Don't kiss him Jackie! He's like your brother!" The ewww factor was pretty strong. And one last question, I missed a few episodes this season, did Jackie and Hyde ever address their relationship? Anything? I really hoped the writers would get them back together. Oh well, whatever. Chain Gang Member 05-19-2006, 01:14 PM The only part I didn't like was that we never knew where Fez was from. We all thought we knew when he said he was going to Brazil, but then he said then he was going to his homeland from there:mad: faraj 05-19-2006, 04:01 PM i would have loved to have seen lisa come thru the door too but everyone who knows me here alredy knows that but then again if she had come thru that door i wouldnt have see most of it anyway i would have fainted from the shock and excitment Well, at least Laurie wasn't totally forgotten, considering that she was at least mentioned. LOL! tdf4077 05-19-2006, 07:14 PM This has probably been mentioned elsewhere before (or I'm just wrong anyways)...I thought Red fought in Korea, but in the finale, he made several references to having fought in WWII...did he fight in both? Overall, I was really sad at the finale. I was glad Topher came back, even if it was just for awhile. But, it was kinda predictable...I didn't think Red and Kitty would leave...I didn't really see Jackie and Fez getting together, but I would have been happier having not seen that! It was kinda mediocre....but I'm glad that they didn't get too serious and all overly-sentimental that most shows do....they stayed true to their roots....it just felt more like any other episode than a series finale. Faith+1 05-19-2006, 08:22 PM I loved the finale! I just really liked how they set it up. I liked the flashbacks. The last circle was the best circle ever! I was glad that they had ashton and topher back, but I wish they could have gotten lisa robin kelly, christina moore, and tanya roberts. I loved how they ended it right when the eighties began. It lets the viewers create what they want to happen, instead of what the director has happen because you really do not know if donna and eric will get back together, if jackie and fez will get married, if bob will still move to florida, and if donna is still going to go to college. A lot of really good shows' series finales have been bad (Seinfeld comes to mind), but that 70s show proved that wrong. I give it a perfect 10!:) BeatleMoe 05-23-2006, 05:07 PM I thought in the first half where Kitty is showing the house off was very funny and touching. I like that how after all this time how she dogged Laurie, she defended her trampiness as to being overly friendly. I really laughed the hardest when she told the buyer that Red's mother was in hell. I wanted to fall off the couch. Hennigans Spokesman 05-26-2006, 11:36 AM I didn't think the finale was that bad....granted I would have like to seen more then 5 minutes of Eric I mean the show was centered around him but it was good finale. Brian Damage 06-07-2006, 11:47 AM I liked it, but the Fez and Jackie relationship is just too weird. Topher looked so out of place on this show when he came back. He just wasn't vintage Eric anymore. faraj 06-07-2006, 02:14 PM I liked it, but the Fez and Jackie relationship is just too weird. Topher looked so out of place on this show when he came back. He just wasn't vintage Eric anymore. Yeah, Jackie seemed to have a relationship with just about every young men in the show. Except, of course, for Eric and Randy, but that's because they both had relationships with Donna. First Jackie dated Kelso, then Hyde, now Fez. SpunkiiMonkii7078 06-08-2006, 02:25 PM I thought the finale was okay. There was no suspense on what was going to happen, it was very predictable. The whole Jackie and Fez thing is a little weird. They do look cute together, but other than that the relationship seemed to be only friendship. I really think Jackie should have stuck with Hyde. I wish Eric would have been in the finale for more than that one scene he was in. I was glad Eric and Donna got together, and I like not knowing where their relationship will go. I wish they would have spent more scenes or time with the two or them though. I did enjoy the last part where everyone was upstairs counting down for the New Year. I thought that was clever. I liked how they centered in on the couch in the basement. I thought that was an excellant way for the show to end. Overall, it seemed like a regular episode. It didn't feel like a finale. To much was sort of left hanging. Jessica mphs95 06-11-2006, 03:07 PM Jackie and Fez......EWWWW! Eric and Donna....What the hell was that? I hoped for more, but at least Topher came back. All in all, pretty good finale...better than other I have seen. Rachel3118 06-12-2006, 02:14 PM I haven't been watching this show in a while and I was planning on watching the finale but I forgot about it. :( MaNdOSoNeFaN 06-19-2006, 12:08 AM The number one thing I'm glad about the Final episode Randy.... *POOF*. That guy bugged the crap out of me. Am I the only one that wasn't feeling it with Kelso. He seemed... kinda fake and too over excited and not like... Kelso. I thought it was so cute when Kittie was showing the house and she looked at the wall that had lines like a growing chart. I also liked how she said something about everyone. I wish they would have done a longer moment with Eric and Donna or had Red hug Eric or something. Actually.. it would have been nice if Red would have ACTUALLY put his foot in his ass!!! haha I don't like Fez and Jackie together. That is just plain weird. Jackie and Hyde should be together. I was waiting for Jackie to end up with Eric since she's been with all of them now. They shouldn't have done so many flashbacks. I would have rather had more of an *actual* episode. I liked the countdown and how the tag turned to 80. I thought that was clever/cool. Sad that it's finally over but the re-runs are always fun P.S. The circle moment definitely rocked too! Number 9 Dream 06-22-2006, 02:40 AM  I would've LOVED to have seen that! Red is so awesome. Actually.. it would have been nice if Red would have ACTUALLY put his foot in his ass!!! haha Chain Gang Member 01-26-2007, 02:15 PM I think would've been better if the finale was Eric & Donna getting married. Then that way Topher & Ashton would've got to go on their own earlier and That 70s Show would had a better finale because without Eric & Kelso, the show really sucked from there mrbig 09-17-2007, 12:22 AM Guys, I'm really sad :crying: I had set up a tape to be recorded while I was at work, and it ended up only getting half the episode! I loved that Donna and eric kinda patched things up and Fez got jackie after trying so hard. :-D I loved the special behind the scenes (tape readings etc about the last episode.) topcard 01-10-2008, 07:05 PM i havent seen the final episode... im actually kind of nervous cuz after that what am i supposed to watch??????????????? mrbig 01-15-2008, 06:15 PM i havent seen the final episode... im actually kind of nervous cuz after that what am i supposed to watch??????????????? Yes I agree that the Eric and Donna reunion should've had more. Wreckless 02-10-2008, 10:33 PM I would of liked to see acouple things happen although I thought the finale was good. -a final talk between Red and Eric, then kitty comes in from the kitchen and talks to Eric also about whatever (how africa was, etc.) -both Laurie's to walk in together, more so lisa robin kelly -for red to call fez sabu or something funny like that, the names he had for all the kids were hilarious throughout the show (sabu, pretty boy, kettlehead, dumbass etc.) and for the show to just end on a good note |
