Are they going to air 22 straight weeks of Prison Break or is it coming back in March like this year? I don't see it on the second schedule.

Yea I'm thinking the same thing about Bones. Why destroy one of their hit shows? I don't think the midseason is that set because if some shows are real flops they'll be pulled. I remember last year House was supposed to move to Mondays.

"Til Death" sounds like an appropriate name for a show that's going to be on opposite "Survivor" and "My Name Is Earl". In other words, its own death will be fairly quick. The rest of the schedule doesn't impress me that much. I think that FOX is just marking time until January when "American Idol" comes back on. Until then, I have one question:

Why did FOX bring back "The War At Home"? That show is so awful! Sometimes you just have to shake your head at the way certain networks operate. And they wonder why their audience keeps shrinking...

Yeah, it was bound to happen. He got sentenced to Friday nights. Remember when they moved Wanda Sykes show to Fridays and how successful that proved to be. The only reason this season happened is that Bernie probably owed FOX some episodes as he got sick last season couldn't give the network a full season as ordered. But, I wished they would have gave him a proper send off like they did some of the other shows.

Keenan Ivory Wayans had a show briefly in fall 1996 or spring 1997. It had to compete with VIBE and the Magic Hour featuring Magic Johnson. Keenan and Magic were the first cancelled at the end of the season followed by VIBE during the early part of the 1997-1998 season. It's time to try again, though. 1993 was a long time ago.

That would present a whole bevy of problems for Fox though. Most affiliates air syndicated fare there that does well for the timeslot and most would be unwilling to give that up to take a chance on an unknown entity. It's the same deal with programming at 10pm. I'm sure the network would like to, but the affiliates will never give up their cash cow early news.

I agree about the 10PM news. The Fox station in Louisville has one of the best newscasts in town, I prefer it over the 11PM newscasts. At 11:30, they just show reruns of Friends and Sex in the City, so I could live without those.

It would be interesting to know if they make more money on the reruns then the NBC and CBS stations make on Letterman and Leno.

Opposite Survivor, week two of Fox sitcoms ‘Til Death and Happy Hour took a hit, dropping by double-digit percentages over their already disappointing week-ago debuts. ‘Til Death scored a 5.1/ 8 in the overnights (#3), 6.33 million viewers (#3) and a 2.4/ 8 among adults 18-49 (#3) at 8 p.m. Comparably, that was a decline of 22 percent in the overnights (6.5/11 to 5.1/ 8), 2.49 million viewers (8.82 to 6.33 million) and 23 percent among adults 18-49 (3.1/10 to 2.4/ 8). Considerably worse was Happy Hour with a dismal 3.7/ 6 in the overnights (#3t), 5.26 million viewers (#3) and a 2.1/ 6 among adults 18-49 (#3t) at 8:30 p.m. Comparably, that was a loss over last week’s premiere of 27 percent in the overnights (5.1/ 8 to 3.7/ 6), 1.71 million viewers (6.97 to 5.26 million) and 12 percent among adults 18-49 (2.4/ 7 to 2.1/ 6).

Nope, and ABC and NBC were still in repeats. I doubt they will make it til October. Next week Earl and The Office are back all new on NBC, and Ugly Betty starts on the 28th on ABC(but I have doubts the shows will still be airing then).

Also of note, all of the other new FOX shows aren't doing well. Standoff and Justice both suffered from increased competition this past week WITHOUT CBS and NBC running new episodes.

It is hillarious that people would rather watch reruns of shows than new episodes of something ... Foxs comedies. In fact the idea people chose a rerun of My Name is Earl (he has already crossed it off his list, why rewatch? :P) than the Fox comedies is funnier than the shows themselves.

Fox is believed to be close to announcing several post-baseball season scheduling moves impacting Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights.


According to sources, Vanished would move from 9 p.m. Monday--after Prison Break--to 8 p.m. Friday starting Oct. 27, replacing Nanny 911, which would be benched.


Meanwhile, Justice, now airing 9 p.m. Wednesday, would take the Vanished spot on Monday starting Oct. 23.

Fox would have several weeks to figure out how to replace the Bones lead-out.

That is a good question. House would be stronger at 9 p.m. for sure, but Standoff will not get the ratings it would get at 9 p.m. after House. It should be interesting if Fox goes a bit up or a bit down because of this.

The first hour of "Dancing with the Stars," 12.9/21, put ABC on top at 8 p.m. A Halloween-themed "NCIS" was a strong second for CBS at 10.0/16. There was a huge drop from there to FOX's "Standoff," which managed only a 3.1/5 in its new timeslot. A repeat of Monday's special "Friday Night Lights" drew a 2.6/4 for NBC. The CW went with a "Gilmore Girls" repeat.

That is AWFUL! House soared from those crap numbers and got an 8.7/14 at 9pm, ahead of CBS and NBC, and ABC at 9:30.

Next week FNL will be new and will defintely beat that, and Gilmore Girls will be close.

ABC took sole possession of first at 9 p.m. with "Grey's Anatomy," 13.8/20. CBS was a close second with "CSI," 12.8/19. NBC's "Deal or No Deal" scored a better-than-average 7.9/12. The season premiere of "The O.C." earned a 2.2/3 for FOX, finishing in a virtual tie in total viewers with The CW's "Supernatural."

Fox should move The O.C. to Fridays and pair it with Vanished. Neither will likely do very good anyway but at least they'd have somewhat compatible lead ins and lead outs. House should move to Thursdays along with Idol Results (although I'd hate that because I'd be torn between SO MANY shows on Thursdays) come February.

As for Sunday's, I think they could at least give 'Til Death a shot there. Have it be 7PM - King of the Hill, 7:30 - The War at Home, 8:00 - The Simpsons, 8:30 - American Dad, 9:00 - Family Guy and 9:30 - 'Til Death. Or something like that ... I dunno. 'Til Death needs an overhaul though, IMO. I can see why Brad Garrett disliked the direction of the show and the scripts.

Studio 60 isn't cancelled yet, but it's on life support. FNL did better than it does on Tuesdays, but did not do better than Studio 60 has been doing(although Studio 60 drops each week). As of now, it's still on the schedule.

O.C. on Fridays? YIKES! The core audience isn't home on that night, but I don't see how it can do any worse than it did last night.

I wish FOX would move The OC back to Wednesdays at 9:00pm- permanently, it's original night....The OC's premiere being online an entire week before the airing certainly does have something to do with those ratings. Episode 2 is also online now. Ugh!...These are the worst ratings for the show ever. And from a show that once earned somewhere in the 7 millions. I can't believe Thursday nights. It's just too much now.

I don't think this Wednesdays' episode will do that good either, with the "Fall Season Finale" of "LOST", but we should be fine in a few weeks.

FOX shouldn't put the epsidoes online a week before they air. That's why nobody watched it on TV. And it's going to happen again this week. The OC is signed on for 16 episodes so far. There's always time for more episode orders. I'm sure it'll do fine on Wednesdays. With LOST gone, nobody's going to watch ABC's latest crap anyway. Criminal minds will be the #1 show in the (9:00 hour, which is fine.

Besides Bones Wednesday at 8, Fox can't even reach a 3.0 rating Wed-Fri. Sad when Cops on Saturday will go over a 3 rating, most likely. And Monday and Tuesday has one-hour holes, too, as Justice and Standoff are doing bad...Prison Break, House save them for those nights.
Sunday is their best night right now.

The O.C. is DEAD. The episode order will probably get cut and this will be the last season.

CBS assumed the lead at 9 p.m. as "Criminal Minds," 11.1/17, beat out "Lost," 10.4/15, for the lead. "The Biggest Loser" moved up to third. A Wednesday airing of "The O.C." on FOX, 2.4/4, edged The CW's "One Tree Hill," 2.3/3, in household rating, but the two virtually tied among total viewers.

Justice has 5 unaired episodes, it got 13, 8 have aired. No word on if Vanished will be burned off(although since it's already airing on Fridays and has been pulled from there I don't see it as a good sign).

As for "Vanished," a notice on the show's official web site (http://www.fox.com/vanished/) indicates the remaining four installments of the series will be streamed online:
"The remaining four episodes will stream on the VANISHED myspace page, with a new episode posted every Friday at 12:01 PT, beginning Nov. 17th. Three episodes will be kept up at a time. The series finale will be posted online on Friday, December 8th."


As for Justice... House repeats will air December 11th and 18th(previously announced specials including the O.J. one will air before that) with Peter Pan on Christmas Night and then the BCS on January 1st and 8th. 24 starts January 15th.

Horrible, it competes with the CW for last place, but FOX seems to be sticking with it for now because they don't have anything else. I don't expect to see it around come January, though I've heard rumors they may try it on Sundays at 9:30 replacing The War at Home which has also been doing bad.

After five years of virtually unchecked growth, 2007 is the year "American Idol" will finally see its ratings start to fade.

At least, that's what execs at every network not owned by Rupert Murdoch are fervently wishing for this holiday season.

Logically, their dreams aren't farfetched: It's virtually unheard of for a hit show entering its sixth season not to experience at least a little Nielsen erosion.

"At some point, it's got to go down, right?" one rival exec plaintively asks. "I mean, all shows go down eventually, don't they?"

Maybe -- or maybe not. Competitors aren't taking any chances, however.

Like residents of a small coastal town at the mercy of Mother Nature, non-Fox nets are trying to do all they can to prepare for the start of what's now known simply as " 'Idol' season."

Just last week, ABC announced it was moving one of its top dramas, "Lost," to a new timeslot out of the path of what Alphabet scheduling guru Jeff Bader has called the " 'Idol' tsunami." Instead, it'll battle Simon & Co. with new comedies and a William Shatner-hosted gameshow.

NBC, meanwhile, will launch its "Grease" reality skein during the first week of the year, hoping to get viewers hooked before "Idol" grabs away the media oxygen starting Jan. 16.

And CBS is keeping hot frosh drama "Jericho" off the air until late February, thus minimizing the number of times it might face off against "Idol" on Wednesdays.

The frame from January through May has become the most nerve-wracking time of the year for webheads. Fox unleashes about 45 highly-rated hours of "Idol," dominating two -- and sometimes three -- nights each week.

Since moving from summer to the regular season in 2002, "Idol" has vaporized nearly two dozen skeins that have tried to compete against it. Comedy has been particularly hard-hit.

In the film world, studios respond to such overwhelming firepower by simply getting out of the way, scheduling their tentpoles away from one another. Networks, on the other hand, simply can't go dark for a couple hours every week.

Tentpoles can energize the box office, with the success spilling over to rival pics. Similarly, other networks can end up benefiting from the huge influx of viewers who come to watch "Idol" -- and when the show's over, start looking around for something else to watch.

When "America's Next Top Model" aired on the now-dead UPN, net sometimes scheduled the show at 9 p.m. in order to pick up "Idol" junkies hungry for another reality fix.

But the biggest beneficiary, of course, is Fox. The halo effect from the show -- by far, the most popular series on television -- manages to lift Fox's entire schedule, turning shows like "House" into monster hits. The extra lift Fox gets makes it tougher for rivals to compete.

"When they get that new influx of viewers, it transforms their network," one rival sighs. "I don't believe there's ever been a show that's defined a network as much as 'Idol.' They're riding high when it's on, and they're awful when it's off."

Then there's the fear factor.

In a town prone to paranoia, rivals worry that Fox will add extra episodes of the show if it needs the added ratings juice, or fret over the always looming (but still unlikely) threat that the net might choose to move the "Idol" results show to Thursday nights.

Worries come even though Fox -- not wanting to kill its golden goose -- has so far been pretty disciplined about keeping "Idol" at the same number of hours each year.

"It's this hurricane that blows in," says NBC scheduling chief Mitch Metcalf. "We know it's gonna come and when it's going to hit. We just have to buckle down and prepare for it the best we can."

No network claims to have found a sure-fire way to deal with the "Idol" monster, but execs have learned a few lessons about how best to compete.

While "Idol" is that rare TV beast that appeals to viewers from 8 months to 80 years, skeins skewing slightly older seem to fare better than shows that appeal to "Idol's" core 18-to-34 demo.

"You don't want to skew too young," Metcalf says.

CBS senior exec VP Kelly Kahl argues that, opposite "Idol," familiarity breeds success.

"It helps to have a show that has established a bit of an audience before 'Idol' comes around," he says. "Trying new things against 'Idol' is a really tough task."

That's why NBC is slotting two older-skewing, existing franchises -- "Deal or No Deal" and "Dateline" -- against Fox's powerhouse.

CBS has also proven adept at weathering the "Idol" onslaught with skeins such as "NCIS" and "Criminal Minds."

Even the CW's "Gilmore Girls" did well vs. "Idol" when it aired on the now-dead WB. While its young female audience is the same that watches "Idol," its loyal fan base didn't stray.

ABC is taking a different -- and aggressive -- tack this year, however.

Rather than keeping "Lost" as a 9 p.m. Wednesday beachhead vs. the "Idol" results show, Alphabet has opted to slot its buzzworthy new laffer "The Knights of Prosperity."

Net thinks the skein has a male bent that could play well opposite the more femme-friendly "Idol." It's also surrounding "Knights" with three other comedies, hoping to build a traditional comedy block on the night.

"Eighty-seven percent of the country isn't watching 'Idol,' " Bader argues. "There's room for something else to succeed. If it's a good show, people will find it."

Whatever strategy a net adopts, Metcalf argues consistency is key.

"The biggest lesson I've learned is to buckle down," he says, conceding that in past years, NBC might have panicked in response to the damage "Idol" inflicted.

"You see a number you're scared about so you make a change, and then you end up with an even scarier number," he says. "It makes no sense to have a revolving door of shows."

While each net takes a slightly different approach to "Idol," they all have one thing in common: a healthy respect for the show's ability to lure viewers. That hasn't always been the case.

"Early on, I think it was easy to dismiss it as something that would fade," one exec says. "But as the body bags piled up, it became less and less easy to ignore."

Which leads back to the question: Is this the year "American Idol" will finally cool?

So far, the show has defied the laws of Nielsen gravity, maintaining its jaw-dropping popularity despite annual predictions of its imminent decline. Most observers believe that "Idol" will eventually lose a bit of mojo, but argue that trying to predict just when that'll happen is futile.

"My 'Idol' predictions are hopelessly off, so I've stopped making them," Metcalf says. "I think I'll stick to trying to predict the weekend box office, which is easier."

Another network wag says that two years ago, he was convinced "Idol" would weaken because the previous year's finale had been lackluster.

"But it came back just as strong," he says. "One of these years, it's going to be down 5% or 8%, and everyone will say, 'Hmmm, it's slipping.' But when that happens is anyone's guess."

Biggest wildcard with "Idol" ratings is the performers. While Fox shells out millions to make sure Simon, Randy and Paula return each year, there's no way to guarantee that each new crop of singers will appeal to viewers.

As far as Fox is concerned, 2007 would be an awful time for "Idol" to slip.

Net has had another one of its now-patented fall fumbles, with none of its new shows yet demonstrating any hit potential. It also doesn't have the Super Bowl this year, robbing it of the extra ratings cushion the big game provides.

Bottom line: In order to make a run at first place in demos, Fox needs "Idol" to return as strong as ever.

Fox execs declined comment for this story. Last month, however, the net's scheduling czar, Preston Beckman, said the combination of "Idol's" return, a new season of "24" and a plethora of college and pro pigskin games promises to once more transform Fox from fall also-ran to a spring swan.

"We have two nights of '24,' then two nights of 'Idol,' " he says. "By Thursday morning, we'll find ourselves competitive again."

^honestly, i really doubt any shows are going to effect idol's ratings. we're talking about a show that beat the grammys and the olympics here. im not a big AI fan anymore, but it's just facts....if anything it'll hurt the other shows.

Yesterday, I was really pissed. I thought, oh great, another Everwood fiasco! The show is at a good place right now, and they want to yank it off the air. Then I realized that I'm actually relieved its coming to a close. It should go out on a high note, rather than take the creativity out of it, and milk the show until it sucks. It really was a pop culture phenomenon for a while. It was great while it lasted. It's been a blast. I will miss it very much. R.I.P The O.C.

The sun will set for the last time on THE O.C. when the series ends its four-season run Thursday, Feb. 22 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. The countdown has begun, with all-original episodes airing from Thursday, Jan. 4 through the last episode on Feb. 22.

It bombed on Wednesday airings, too. Even when GA and CSI were in repeats, O.C. couldn't top 5 million even. I don't think the slot is the reason. Mischa leaving and the declining storylines last season are probably the reason why the show has tumbled the last 2 years.

The CW wouldn't want it anyway. The show would probably get lower ratings than One Tree Hill. I'm sure the cost would be high to buy it.

Anyway, to arrest my case, Buffy The Vampire Slayer had a proper SERIES FINALE on The WB, and UPN picked the show up for 2 additional years.

The Golden Globes ceremony kicked off NBC at 8 p.m. with a 12.9/19 for the hour, with FOX's new episode of "24" rating a respectable 8.8/13.

NBC's awards show continued to entertain in the 9 o' clock hour with a 13.4 rating/19 share, while FOX's "24" mantained second place with a 9.5/14.

The powerhouse known as American Idol returns tonight. It got 35 million viewers for last year's premiere.

Two nights in a row... FOX gets a 31 share, beating all the other networks combined. Last night they actually come in last in viewers at 8pm and only edge The CW at 9.

"'Til Death" and "The War at Home" were fourth for FOX, edging The CW's "Smallville," 3.1/5, (The CW had a few more viewers).

"The O.C." scored a 2.6/4 for FOX, good enough to beat "Supernatural" on The CW.

The quest for the next American Idol is on! America gets closer to finding its next singing superstar during FOX February, and Tuesday nights boast four not-to-be-missed episodes of AMERICAN IDOL, plus two all-new HOUSE calls and a special Tuesday night airing of 'TIL DEATH.

IDOL auditions hit San Antonio Tuesday, Feb. 6 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) some will be two-stepping their way to Hollywood, while others are sent packing. The following week, contestants chosen from around the nation arrive in Hollywood for their big chance at the AMERICAN IDOL crown.

Faced with a grueling schedule, pressure-packed rehearsals and the judges' criticism, some will survive and more will go home during the Hollywood Round Tuesday, Feb. 13 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). The performance shows kick off the following two Tuesdays, as the male semifinalists first take the stage on Tuesday, Feb. 20 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Tuesday, Feb. 27 (8:00-9:30 PM ET/PT).

In the first of two all-new Tuesday episodes of HOUSE, "Needle in a Haystack" airing Tuesday, Feb. 6 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), the oddities of 16-year-old Stevie Lipa's case a serious respiratory condition and internal bleeding land him under House's and the team's care. When his gypsy parents arrive bearing homeopathic remedies, they won't consent to the doctors' suggested course of action, refusing any modern medical treatment. As Stevie continues to bleed internally, Foreman makes a risky decision and puts his medical license on the line. Meanwhile, House is beyond irritated when a new hospital researcher is assigned his handicapped parking spot. Determined to get a spot even closer to the hospital entrance, House appeals to Cuddy, who dares him to prove how much he wants it by spending a week in a wheelchair a bet House takes.

The following week (Tuesday, Feb. 13, 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on HOUSE, it's Valentine's Day at Princeton-Plainsboro, and the ER is short-staffed due to a snowstorm. House encounters Foreman's patient, Hannah, who has sustained injuries from a car accident but feels no pain, and takes a special interest in her case. He orders further testing to see if she has any serious injuries that she may not be able to feel, including an unnecessary procedure that causes Cuddy and Wilson to question House's motives. When she passes out and her temperature spikes, the doctors realize that she is much sicker than they had thought. As Hannah's body deteriorates without her so much as flinching, House works through his own chronic pain to find out why this young woman cannot feel anything at all in the "Insensitive" episode.

On the last Tuesday of February, Feb. 27, 'TIL DEATH (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) has a special Tuesday-night airing after an expanded AMERICAN IDOL, serving up an encore of the "Fight Friend" episode guest-starring Margaret Cho and Anthony Anderson. Joy turns to her friend Nicole (guest star Cho) for help when she and Eddie are fighting. When Eddie confronts Joy about Nicole, they get into a heated argument and seek support from their respective "fight friends" Joy teaming up with Nicole, and Eddie with Nicole's husband Cofeld (guest star Anderson), in order to prove their points.

WEDNESDAY

On Wednesday nights this February, FOX presents two all-new episodes of BONES, both featuring guest stars Stephen Fry and Eddie McClintock; four installments of AMERICAN IDOL, including two special expanded editions; and a bonus episode of 'TIL DEATH.

Stephen Fry ("Jeeves and Wooster," "Blackadder") and Eddie McClintock ("Desperate Housewives") guest-star in the first of two all-new February episodes of BONES, "The Girl in the Gator" airing Wednesday, Feb. 7 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). After "maliciously" shooting an ice cream truck's clown hood ornament, Booth is forced to undergo psychiatric evaluation to return to work and get his gun back. With Booth out of commission, Brennan, who's in Florida to investigate the death of a young college student whose body is found inside a dead alligator, is paired with Agent Tim Sullivan (guest star McClintock). Although he's easygoing, the two of them have stylistic differences and communication problems from the start, and Brennan looks forward to Booth's return. As the Jeffersonian team works to unravel the circumstances surrounding the girl's death, Brennan finds she's more charmed by Sullivan than she cares to admit. Meanwhile, Booth has several meetings with FBI psychiatrist Dr. Gordon Wyatt (guest star Fry), an Englishman who conducts their "sessions" in his backyard and assigns an unorthodox project to Booth, while surreptitiously getting him to talk about his attack on the clown.

Guest stars Fry and McClintock are joined by another guest star, Ernie Hudson, the following week in "The Man in the Mansion" episode of BONES Wednesday, Feb. 14 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). Brennan, Booth and the Jeffersonian team are called in by the Bancroft family, major donors to the Jeffersonian, to investigate the death of patriarch Terence Bancroft, found stabbed and bound to his desk chair. The team can tell almost instantly he's been dead for a while, maybe as long as a month. Booth questions Terence's wife, while the team brings the body and evidence back to the lab for further tests. Hodgins removes an old photo of himself and the victim from the official evidence, knowing the photo links him to the case an action that could jeopardize the Jeffersonian's reputation and Hodgins' career. Psychiatrist Dr. Gordon Wyatt (guest star Fry) has cleared Booth to carry a gun and return to work, contingent on Booth continuing to meet with Wyatt about a few underlying issues that may be affecting his judgment and investigative skills. Meanwhile, Agent Sullivan (guest star McClintock) invites Brennan to come to one of his basketball games, turning up the heat on their relationship.

Wednesday night is AMERICAN IDOL night during February, as the ultimate singing competition continues Wednesday, Feb. 7 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). This season's Top 24 semifinalists are revealed Wednesday, Feb. 14 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), and the first female semifinalist performance shows begin Wednesday, Feb. 21 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Wednesday, Feb. 28 (8:00-9:30 PM ET/PT), followed by a special Wednesday-night airing of 'TIL DEATH (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT).

THURSDAY

Thursdays in February feature three all-new episodes of FOX comedies 'TIL DEATH and THE WAR AT HOME; four all-new chapters of THE O.C., including the momentous series finale; and the season's very first LIVE results show of AMERICAN IDOL.

Joy gives Eddie permission to have a female friend, and the new pals bond over their history in "The Colleague" episode of 'TIL DEATH Thursday, Feb. 1 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT). When Eddie and his new buddy get too close, Joy takes on some history of her own. Meanwhile, hopelessly un-hip Jeff uses Steph to get in with the cool high school kids.

The following week, Thursday, Feb. 8 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT), in "The Bachelor Party" episode, the guys discover that Jeff never had a stag party and vow to have a special boys' night out at a local club. But when Nicole (guest star Margaret Cho) tags along with Cofeld (guest star Anthony Anderson), the guys' night doesn't turn out as they planned. Meanwhile, Joy is sick at home, and Steph comes over with a special recipe to help them both feel better.

In the final all-new February installment of 'TIL DEATH, "The Italian Affair" (Thursday, Feb. 15, 8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT), when Joy accuses Eddie of being a pack rat, he and Jeff go through piles of ancient items from Eddie's past and come across an old roll of film. When Eddie sees the photos of himself and Joy having a great time in Italy, he is reminded of how the vacation ended and a moment he and Joy never discuss. In order to make things right, Eddie does all he can to relive their trip to Italy right there in the suburbs of Philadelphia.

Martin Mull guest-stars in the first of three all-new February episodes of THE WAR AT HOME Thursday, Feb. 1 (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT). Principal Fink (guest star Mull) suspends Larry for 30 days when pot is found in his jacket pocket, although it's actually Dave's jacket, which Larry wore by mistake. Dave and Vicky talk to a priest about enrolling Larry in parochial school the same priest Mike thinks is hitting on him in the "Zero Tolerance" episode.

The following week, Thursday, Feb. 8 (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT), George Segal and Jamie Farr guest-star in another all-new installment of THE WAR AT HOME. Vicky's mom Betty (guest star Anita Gillette) and her boyfriend Sid (guest star Segal) announce their engagement and upcoming wedding in St. Martin, inviting the entire family to join them. But when Sid goes too far with a stripper, Dave wonders whether or not to tell Betty and risk losing the free trip. Meanwhile, Kenny goes on a date with an ex-boyfriend of Hillary's, prompting Dave to have an awkward conversation with him about gay safe-sex and Hillary to worry that she has a knack for turning men gay in the "No Weddings and a Funeral" episode.

In the final all-new February installment of THE WAR AT HOME Thursday, Feb. 15 (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT), "Kenny Doesn't Live Here Anymore," the kids are excited about the school's Sadie Hawkins dance, and even Kenny has a date. Once word gets out that Kenny's planning on attending with another guy, they are barred from the event for not keeping with the Sadie Hawkins tradition. An outraged Larry stages a protest against the discrimination, and Dave goes to the school to argue Kenny's case. Once Principal Fink (guest star Martin Mull) finds out that Kenny has been living with the Golds, he informs Dave that he's obligated to tell Child Services and that Kenny will have to be put in foster care, so Dave sets out to get Kenny's parents to let him come home.

In a special Thursday-night episode of AMERICAN IDOL (Thursday, Feb. 22, 8:00-9:00 PM LIVE ET/tape-delayed PT), four of the Top 24 semifinalists two male, two female will be eliminated from the competition and sent home during the season's very first LIVE results show.

In "The Case of the Franks" Thursday, Feb. 1 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), the first of four final episodes of THE O.C., Taylor comes up with a plan to make things right between Ryan and his dad, Frank (guest star Kevin Sorbo), while Julie continues to move things forward with Bullit. But when Julie and Frank run into each other in front of Ryan and Taylor, their secret is apparent. Meanwhile, after Seth and Summer get a psychic reading, Summer wonders if they are right for each other. And when Kaitlin discovers that Ryan and Taylor are playing Cupid to get Julie and Frank together, she goes to extreme lengths to get her mom to like Bullit but who will Julie choose?

An earthquake rocks the Southland in the all-new "The Shake Up" episode of THE O.C. airing Thursday, Feb. 8 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). Ryan and Taylor share some special words but did they really mean them? Meanwhile, Kaitlin decides to sabotage Frank (guest star Sorbo) and Julie's relationship, until her mom finally notices and makes a change for the better. Summer encourages Seth to find something he can be passionate about, and Kirsten, for the first time, realizes what Newport society is really all about.

The Orange County gang struggles to make sure everyone is O.K. after the earthquake in the all-new "The Night Moves" episode airing Thursday, Feb. 15 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). On the Friday, Feb. 2 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) installment, when Julie Chase, an Oregon saddle-maker with an elevated sense of sarcasm, trades places with Judy Lane, an upper-middle-class San Diego, CA, professional whose life is centered around her partner, Pepper, and their two children, Julie finds herself in a nest built on love and tolerance while, at the Chases' home, Judy has to contend with the constant bickering and disrespect between dad Charlie and his two teenage daughters. On Part 2 of this episode airing Friday, Feb. 9 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), Julie and Judy say goodbye to their new families, each leaving behind a letter that could change the recipients' lives forever. When Deputy Jim Haman of the Brevard County, FL, Sheriff's Office patrols a known drug area, he pulls over a car for a simple traffic violation, but discovers the suspect is packing crack in his mouth. Also featured is Deputy Dan Frend of the Palm Beach County, FL, Sheriff's Office, arresting a suspect in possession of crack rock and black tar heroin.

The following week, FOX Sports presents the BUD SHOOTOUT, the first event of the NASCAR Nextel Cup season, LIVE in primetime Saturday, Feb. 10 (8:00-10:00 PM ET LIVE/5:00-7:00 PM PT LIVE). Mike Joy, Larry McReynolds and Darrell Waltrip call the action live from Daytona International Speedway.

Officers from the Boise, Las Vegas and Chattanooga Police Departments struggle with suspects unwilling to cooperate in the all-new edition of COPS: TOUGH TAKEDOWNS (Saturday, Feb. 17, 8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT), part of a full hour of COPS. The segment featuring Officer Brian Lee of the Boise Police Department follows him as he responds to a domestic violence call where a man reportedly has a knife and is threatening to stab a loved one.

In the final all-new February episode, COPS: LIAR LIAR airing Saturday, Feb. 24 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT), part of a full hour of COPS, Officer Donny Meece of the Cincinnati, OH, Police Department mounts a chase that eventually concludes with a Taser. FOX February Sunday features the theatrical blockbuster X2: X-MEN UNITED and all-new episodes of THE SIMPSONS, KING OF THE HILL, FAMILY GUY and AMERICAN DAD.

Airing opposite the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 4 are an encore episode of THE SIMPSONS (7:00-7:30 PM ET/PT) featuring guest voices Joe Mantegna, Michael Imperioli, Joe Pantoliano and Metallica and the theatrical blockbuster X2: X-MEN UNITED (7:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) starring Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Rebecca Romijn and Famke Janssen. Already living in a society that mistrusts them, the mutants are faced with even more discrimination after an unforeseen enemy launches a devastating attack. The news of the assault causes a public outcry against the mutants, including renewed support for the Mutant Registration Act, and William Stryker (Brian Cox), among the most vocal supporters of the legislation, puts into motion a plan to eradicate the mutants. Magneto (McKellen), having escaped from his plastic prison, forms an unlikely alliance with Professor Xavier (Stewart) to stop Stryker. With the fates of Xavier, mankind and mutantkind in their hands, the X-Men face their most dangerous mission yet!

THE SIMPSONS offer up two all-new episodes in February. First up is "Little Big Girl," airing Sunday, Feb. 11 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) and featuring guest voice Natalie Portman. When Lisa struggles to find excitement and intrigue in her family heritage for a school presentation, she decides to take creative license in crafting her heritage as a Native American, since it's only for a school project. What begins as an innocent embellishment quickly turns into a web of lies when Lisa is chosen to represent the school, and "her people," at City Hall, and then as a keynote speaker for the National Native American Tribal Council. As a reward for a heroic act, Bart is granted a driver's license, and in an attempt to escape endless family errands and chauffeuring, he flees to a faraway town where he is romanced by Darcy (guest voice Portman), an older teenage girl whose expectations may prove to be too much for Bart.

Eric Idle returns to Springfield when he lends his voice to an all-new installment of THE SIMPSONS on Sunday, Feb. 18 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT). In "Springfield Up," famous documentarian Declan Desmond (guest voice Idle) walks us through the lives of Springfield's most prominent inhabitants from childhood to the present. Those profiled include Marge, Moe and Homer, who attempts to convince Declan and his crew that he is a millionaire.

Tom Petty and John Goodman guest-voice in the first of two all-new February installments of THE KING OF THE HILL Sunday, Feb. 11 (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT). When Bobby's pet snake slithers down the toilet, Hank turns to Animal Control for help in the "SerPunt" episode. Unfortunately, the Animal Control team takes advantage of the situation and creates a snake-in-the-city frenzy, putting Arlen in a state of panic. With the control team hissing, it's up to Dale to eliminate Arlen's reptile problem and help Animal Control rediscover their love for their job.

The following week, Sunday, Feb. 18 (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT), on KING OF THE HILL, an heirless Bill becomes despondent when alley talk turns to what the guys will pass down to their sons. After Bill meets with a genealogist to find his relatives, everyone with the Dauterive last name which the "genealogist" searched on the Internet is invited to his house for a party. But when his cousin Gilbert is the only one to show, Bill learns that they are the last of the Dauterive line. The party isn't a total bust, as Bill is encouraged to sell his incredible barbeque sauce, which he sees as an opportunity to pass on a family tradition. But when Gilbert accuses Bill of whoring out the family name, it looks like the Dauterive family secrets will die with Bill.

Charles Durning and Phyllis Diller guest-voice in the first of two all-new episodes of FAMILY GUY Sunday, Feb. 11 (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT). After Peter's dad, Francis (guest voice Durning), dies, he finds out from Thelma (guest voice Diller) that his real father lives in Ireland. So Peter and Brian head there in search of his father, who ends up being the town drunk, which is a great honor, and he challenges him to a drinking game to prove his paternity. Meanwhile, Stewie acts out and Lois spanks him, but he quickly realizes that he likes it and does whatever he can to get into trouble in the "Peter's Two Dads" episode.

When a bully harasses Chris, Peter goes to his defense, but the kid is so annoying that Peter ends up beating him up. Meanwhile, Stewie goes out without sunscreen and becomes obsessed with getting a tan. After Brian accidentally leaves him in the tanning booth for six hours, Stewie gets sunburned and fears he has cancer. While waiting for the results of his cancer screening, Stewie begins to live his life as if he had only days to live and drives Brian crazy with his demands in "The Tan Aquatic with Steve Zissou" episode of FAMILY GUY Sunday, Feb. 18 (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT).

Roger phones home in the "A.T. the Abusive Terrestrial" episode Sunday, Feb. 11 (9:30-10:00 PM ET /PT), the first of two all-new AMERICAN DAD installments. After Roger is rejected by Steve, who seems to be "over him," Roger heads out in search of a new human companion. But when his new friend starts to abuse him, Steve and Haley scheme to get Roger out of the bad relationship and back home where he belongs. Meanwhile, Stan tours the soda pop factory and meets the famous owner (guest voice Peter Graves).

In the "Black Mystery Month" episode of AMERICAN DAD Sunday, Feb. 18 (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT), Steve decides to write a paper about George Washington Carver in celebration of Black History Month, but his research uncovers a conspiracy that's been going on since the Civil War. When the curator of the Smithsonian Peanut Museum reaches out to tell Steve the truth, he's mysteriously murdered, and Steve and Stan are tracked by a secret society that will stop at nothing to keep this scandalous secret of American history.

ABC’s Ugly Betty opened the evening on a winning note in the overnights, but opposite Fox’s relocated Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader it slipped to a below average 8.7 rating/14 share. Although 5th Grader dropped to a series-low 7.7/12, let’s keep it real. This is the strongest show Fox has had in the Thursday 8 p.m. hour in years (since sitcoms Martin and Living Single in 1996-97, in my estimation). And chances are it will win the hour among adults 18-49 once the fast nationals are posted at PIFeedback.com. In other words, 5th Grader is huge for Fox.

FOX races into May with gripping season finales, guest stars and television events, including NASCAR ON FOX in primetime May 5 and May 12; the World Broadcast Premiere of THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW May 17; the landmark 400th episode of THE SIMPSONS May 20; the jaw-dropping, two-hour season finale of 24 May 21; and the three-hour, two-night season finale of AMERICAN IDOL, featuring the final performance show May 22 and the final live results show that's sure to captivate America May 23.

Here are the highlights, night by night, for this May on FOX:

MONDAY

Mondays this May, hearts will be racing as lives hang in the balance on special encores of HOUSE, and then FOX takes viewers on the ultimate thrill ride with five relentless, all-new hours of 24, including the adrenaline-charged two-hour Day 6 finale.

In the first of three May Sweeps Monday HOUSE calls, "Distractions" airing Monday, April 30 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), a burn victim with unusual activity in his blood tests presents a difficult challenge to House and the team. The following week, Cameron Richardson guest-stars as a teenage supermodel with a heroin addiction and a startling secret unbeknownst even to her in an encore of "Skin Deep" Monday, May 7 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). And in an encore of "Clueless" Monday, May 14 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), House believes that heavy metal poisoning is responsible for a patient's breathing attack, and ends up confronting the man's wife to determine the origin of his deadly illness.

With only five hours left, Jack Bauer's sixth non-stop, pulse-pounding day comes to a climactic full circle in the last ticks of 24's "Day Six." May Sweeps sees all-new, suspense-filled hours (Mondays, April 30, May 7 and 14, 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and the pressure-packed two-hour season finale (Monday, May 21, 8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). As the clock approaches these final hours of a long and terrifying day underscored by a nuclear blast, the loss of thousands of innocent lives, a Presidential assassination attempt and the recovery of threatening nukes, Jack stops at nothing to get what he wants and to protect the country from an international incident that could change the world forever.

TUESDAY

This May, Tuesday nights are reserved for live musical performances, doctor-supervised HOUSE calls and moviemaking, with four all-new, live hours of AMERICAN IDOL, four all-new episodes of HOUSE and a special preview of the hotly anticipated Mark Burnett-Steven Spielberg moviemaking competition series ON THE LOT.

America zeroes in on its next AMERICAN IDOL during FOX May Sweeps, with four live Tuesday night performance shows. On Tuesday, May 1 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), the Top 5 finalists, mentored by Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora of legendary rock band Bon Jovi, will perform rock songs live for the nation, singing their hearts out in hopes of winning America's vote and surviving another week in the competition. On each of the next two Tuesdays, May 8 and 15 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), one less finalist will vie for the title, and then on Tuesday, May 22 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), the final two contestants will take the stage for the last time to battle it out for the crown at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, CA. After the contestants perform that night, viewers will vote to decide who will be the next AMERICAN IDOL.

House and the team tackle three difficult cases during May Sweeps. On Tuesday, May 1 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) in the "Family" episode, the team races against the clock to cure Matty Woodruff (guest star Dabier Snell), an 8-year-old planning to donate bone marrow to his dying older brother, Nick (guest star Jascha Washington), who is a leukemia patient at Princeton Plainsboro. As both brothers' conditions worsen and Nick has only days to live, the team must diagnose and treat Matty before it's too late for both boys. The following week, Tuesday, May 8 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), in the "Resignation" episode, after giving House his two-week notice, Foreman unapologetically announces his resignation to Cameron and Chase without a word of explanation, while the team treats Addie (guest star Lyndsy Fonseca), a 19-year-old college girl brought in after coughing up blood. Meanwhile, House takes a special interest in a young, attractive nutritionist named Honey (guest star Piper Perabo), whom he met at the clinic, and sees to it that they meet again under more casual circumstances. In the last all-new May Sweeps episode of HOUSE, "The Jerk" (Tuesday, May 15, 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), House meets his match in the form of Nate (guest star Nick Lane), an obnoxious 16-year-old chess prodigy with intense head pain and behavioral issues, who manages to annoy and offend every member of House's team during his course of treatment. Meanwhile, Foreman's frustration with House reaches a new level when he believes House sabotages his job interview with another hospital. And in the season finale of HOUSE, "Human Error" airing Tuesday, May 29 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), House and the team take on the case of a young woman who, along with her husband, is rescued at sea en route from Cuba in a desperate attempt to see House and get a diagnosis for her illness. Meanwhile, Foreman prepares for his last day at Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital.

From Mark Burnett and Steven Spielberg comes ON THE LOT, a moviemaking competition series that affords aspiring filmmakers the opportunity of a lifetime: the chance to win a $1-million DreamWorks development deal. The series will have a special preview following AMERICAN IDOL on Tuesday, May 22 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). In this audition episode, the 50 semifinalists, culled from over 12,000 submissions, are brought to Los Angeles to undergo a "Hollywood Boot Camp." The competitors must impress the judges actress, screenwriter and author Carrie Fisher ("Star Wars," "Postcards From the Edge"); and directors/producers Brett Ratner ("Rush Hour 3," "X-Men 3"), Garry Marshall ("Georgia Rule," "Pretty Woman") and Jon Avnet ("Fried Green Tomatoes," "Risky Business") or wind up on the cutting room floor.

WEDNESDAY

FOX Wednesday is jam-packed this May with must-see happenings: three all-new episodes of BONES, including the series' second season finale; and four LIVE AMERICAN IDOL results shows, including the two-hour season finale, which promises to be the biggest night of television this season.

This May on BONES, Brennan, Booth and the Jeffersonian team have their work cut out for them with three sets of unusual remains bones from outer space, bones that glow and bones that seemingly belong to both a little girl and an old woman. First up on Wednesday, May 2 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) in "Spaceman in the Crater" is the case of a flattened body with signs of significant demineralization, suggesting the victim was either 130 years old or a space traveler. While Hodgins goes into hyper-drive with extraterrestrial conspiracy theories, Brennan and Booth keep both feet firmly planted on the ground to figure out who killed a former National Space Agency astronaut. The following week on Wednesday, May 9 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), Brennan and Booth are called by Homeland Security to investigate potentially radioactive remains in "The Glowing Bones in the Old Stone House" episode, directed by Academy Award-nominated cinematographer Caleb Deschanel, father of series star Emily Deschanel. Back at the lab, the team determines the identity of the victim, but has no immediate explanation as to why the remains are emitting a green glow. With each of their specialties called upon, the whole Jeffersonian team joins Brennan and Booth in pursuing the murder mystery, which leads them to a group of friends who are shocked to discover that one of their own is the victim. In the season finale of BONES, "Stargazer in a Puddle" (Wednesday, May 16, 8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), featuring guest stars Ryan O'Neal and ZZ Top's Billy F. Gibbons, Brennan and Booth investigate a small skeleton assumed to be a 10-year-old girl, but Angela's facial reconstruction based on the evidence reveals the face of an 80-year-old woman instead of a child. Meanwhile, Brennan's father, Max Keenan (guest star O'Neal), reappears in Brennan's life in an attempt to make a connection and deliver information from her past; and Hodgins and Angela walk down the aisle with Brennan and Booth as maid of honor and best man, respectively, but all does not go as planned.

The most anticipated night of the television season is almost here the finale of AMERICAN IDOL. On Wednesdays, May 2, 9 and 16 (9:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), the live results shows count down to the final two contestants. Each week, the finalist who receives the fewest votes will be eliminated from the race for the title. Then, on the two-hour AMERICAN IDOL season finale Wednesday, May 23 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), the Top 12 reunite on the stage one last time before the newest American Idol is crowned in front of thousands of fans and millions of television viewers.

THURSDAY

Although graduation season begins this May, viewers will have to hit the books when classes resume on the A+ quiz show ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5th GRADER? with all-new lessons Thursdays, April 26 and May 3 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) and a special two-hour quiz session Thursday, May 10 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT).

Host Jeff Foxworthy is at the head of the class of the atypical game show that tests adults' lack of knowledge as revealed by how much they've forgotten since elementary school. New grownup contestants will again find themselves in a classroom setting, revisiting their youth, as they tackle subjects they've already been taught, ranging from art to geography and math to social studies. However, the players are not alone. There is a way for contestants to "cheat" in this classroom. The adults will have the opportunity to get some help from real grade-schoolers, who will offer what they think are the correct a-n-s-w-e-r-s.

TRADING SPOUSES: MEET YOUR NEW MOMMY, the unscripted series where moms from different walks of life switch families to experience the ultimate life change, offers up two all-new episodes this May Sweeps. In the Thursday, April 26 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) installment, Cheri Naudin, a successful, competitive mom from Orange County, CA, trades places with Laurie Allen, a belly-dancing massage therapist from Santa Rosa, CA. The Naudin family keeps very busy with work, school and sports, while the Allens take a more laid-back approach to life. Will Laurie be able to keep up with the Naudins' fast-paced lifestyle, and how will Cheri pass the time when she suddenly has "nothing" to do? In Part 2 of this episode airing Thursday, May 3 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), Cheri and Laurie say goodbye to their new families, each leaving behind a letter that could change the recipients' lives forever. Back in their own homes, they learn how they will have to spend the show's $50,000 prizes.

On the last Thursday of May Sweeps, Thursday, May 17 (8:00-10:30 PM ET/PT), Dennis Quaid and Jake Gyllenhaal battle Mother Nature in the World Broadcast Premiere of THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW. When global warming triggers the start of another Ice Age, weather catastrophes are felt around the world. Tornadoes flatten Los Angeles, a tidal wave surrounds New York City and the entire Northern Hemisphere begins to freeze. Climatologist Jack Hall (Quaid), his son Sam (Gyllenhaal) and a small group of survivors must ride out the growing super-storm and stay alive in the face of an enemy more violent and persistent than any they've ever faced: Mother Nature!

FRIDAY

FOX Fridays this May Sweeps are nights of classic drama with encore installments of HOUSE and BONES, and real-life family drama on NANNY 911.

On HOUSE, Stacy Warner (guest star Sela Ward), the woman House once loved, reappears in House's life to ask him to diagnose her husband, whose brain is inexplicably dying, in an encore of "The Honeymoon" episode (Friday, April 27, 8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT).

And, on Friday, May 18 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), a rebellious teenage girl (guest star Michelle Trachtenberg), who's immuno-compromised as a result of heart transplant medications, has a severe allergic reaction and goes into shock despite living in a "clean" room. Mel Harris also guest-stars in the encore of the HOUSE episode "Safe."

It's Nanny Yvonne to the rescue on NANNY 911 Friday, May 4 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). Stevi and John McKelvain are at their wits' end with a 7-year-old daughter and three boys aged 6, 3 and 2. When the kids aren't fighting to get their parents' attention, they're fighting with each other, and the McKelvain household is out of control. On Friday, May 11 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), another call to NANNY 911 brings Nanny Deb to the chaotic Amico household, where parents David and Dawn are struggling to keep order among their oldest son Sal, and the quadruplets three girls and a boy all while running the family-owned pizzeria.

BONES also offers up four Friday-night encore episodes, starting with "The Man in the SUV" (Friday, April 27, 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). A car bomb killing innocent people leads Brennan and Booth on the trail of a terrorist with possible U.S. government ties. When a human arm is found inside the stomach of a black bear, Brennan and Booth travel to Washington state to investigate possible ritualistic cannibalism in an encore of "The Man in the Bear" episode Friday, May 4 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). Dr. Brennan discovers that she may have more in common with a victim, a teenage boy who had only comic books for friends, than she originally thought in an encore of "The Superhero in the Alley" airing Friday, May 11 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). The final Friday of May Sweeps, Friday, May 18 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), sees an encore of BONES' "The Skull in the Desert," in which Angela fears her missing boyfriend is dead.

SATURDAY

This May Sweeps, FOX Saturday is chock-full of action-packed happenings: four all-new episodes of COPS; two all-new, special-edition episodes of AMERICA'S MOST WANTED: AMERICA FIGHTS BACK; two editions of NASCAR ON FOX in primetime; three all-new airings of MADtv, including the series' 12th season finale; and two all-new sit-downs on TALKSHOW WITH SPIKE FERESTEN.

COPS offers up two nights of back-to-back, all-new episodes this month. On Saturday, April 28, officers from Brevard County, FL, and Fontana, CA, encounter desperate drivers, one who panics and attempts to hide some evidence and one who starts a high-speed chase, in COPS: POLICE PULLOVERS SPECIAL EDITION #1 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT).

That same night, the all-new, far-from-routine traffic stops continue with a passenger in a suspicious vehicle reaching for a gun in Cincinnati, OH, and a bikini-clad driver with a busted taillight in Las Vegas, NV, in COPS: POLICE PULLOVERS SPECIAL EDITION #2 (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT). On Saturday, May 19, COPS cameras capture drug crimes and suspects in two more all-new, back-to-back episodes, COPS: HIGH CRIMES SPECIAL EDITION #2 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) and COPS: OHIO DRUG ARRESTS SPECIAL EDITION (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT).

FOX Sports presents NASCAR Nextel Cup racing's Richmond 400 on Saturday, May 5 (7:00-11:00 PM ET live/4:00-8:00 PM PT live). Race announcer Mike Joy and analysts Larry McReynolds and Darrell Waltrip call all the action LIVE from Richmond International Raceway at the RICHMOND 400. The following week on Saturday, May 12 (7:00 PM-Midnight ET live/4:00-9:00 PM PT live), the action moves to Darlington Raceway for the DODGE AVENGER 400.

Always tackling the nation's hottest crime issues, AMERICA'S MOST WANTED: AMERICA FIGHTS BACK unleashes two all-new, special-edition episodes this May. Host John Walsh and a special police unit go after online sex predators with the help of a notable guest, Miss America Lauren Nelson, in the AMW: ONLINE PREDATORS SPECIAL EDITION Saturday, April 28 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). On the last Saturday of May Sweeps, Saturday, May 19 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), AMW pays tribute to law enforcement heroes from across the nation in the AMW: POLICE TRIBUTE SPECIAL EDITION.

MADtv serves up late-night laughs with three all-new episodes and special guest stars this May. Michael Rapaport and Leah Remini guest-star in the Saturday, April 28 (11:00 PM-Midnight ET/PT) episode. Rapaport portrays "Clark Gable" in "Gone With the Wind" as he provides alternate endings to this American film classic, and Remini's conversation with the flower delivery man gets out of hand. The following week, join the festivities as the cast of MADtv celebrates Cinco de Mayo Saturday, May 5 (Midnight-1:00 AM ET/PT) with all-new sketches, including "Survivor" and "Scrubs" parodies as well as footage from "Britney Spears" and "Kevin Federline"'s appearance in divorce court. Plus, Ultimate Fighting Champion Tito Ortiz shoots a deodorant commercial with Bobby Lee and Jordan Peele. The late-night shenanigans continue when all-new, original episodes of TALKSHOW WITH SPIKE FERESTEN, featuring guest appearances by THE WAR AT HOME leading man Michael Rapaport (Saturday, April 28, Midnight-12:30 AM ET/PT), and funnyman Dave Foley in the series' first season finale (Saturday, May 19, Midnight-12:30 AM ET/PT).

FOX May Sunday features all-new installments of KING OF THE HILL, THE SIMPSONS, FAMILY GUY and AMERICAN DAD, including two Texas-sized, one-hour special episodes of KING OF THE HILL and a special one-hour season finale of THE SIMPSONS, which is also the series' milestone 400th episode.

In the first of two special one-hour episodes of KING OF THE HILL, "The Passion of the Dauterive"/"Grand Theft Arlen" (Sunday, April 29, 7:00-8:00 PM ET/PT), featuring Justin Long as a guest voice, when Bill survives the roof caving in over his bed, he takes it as a sign from God and immerses himself in church activities; Hank becomes addicted to a video game about propane; and Bobby trains for the Presidential Fitness Test. The following week in another all-new Sweeps installment, "Peggy's Gone to Pots" Sunday, May 6 (7:30-8:00 PM ET/PT), featuring guest voices Chris Elliott and Peri Gilpin, Peggy sets her sights on Arlen Heights, hoping to sell real estate in the exclusive neighborhood, but instead is scammed into becoming the new "Cozy Kitchen" representative. Meanwhile, Dale, who has been using the identity of dead third-grader Rusty Shackelford since elementary school, is surprised by a visit from the real Rusty. Rue McClanahan guest-voices in the Sunday, May 13 (7:30-8:00 PM ET/PT) episode, "Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow," in which Dale, convinced that he has traveled back in time, believes the world will end if he runs into his former self, and Nancy, struggling with John Redcorn's advances, loses her hair. In "Bill, Bulk and the Body Buddies"/"Lucky's Wedding Suit," the special one-hour season finale of KING OF THE HILL Sunday, May 20 (7:00-8:00 PM ET/PT), featuring guest voices Randy "The Macho Man" Savage and Tom Petty, Bill bulks up trying to get in shape for a physical at work, becoming an aggressive meathead; Hank tries to knock some sense into everyone as the Hills prepare for Luanne and Lucky's lavish wedding; and Lucky sues Dale.

Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie celebrate May Sweeps and THE SIMPSONS' milestone 400th episode with four weeks of all-new visits with America's favorite family, including a one-hour season finale. In "The Boys of Bummer" Sunday, April 29 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT), Bart makes a game-winning catch, sending the Springfield Isotots to the Little League championship for the first time ever and becoming a hometown hero, while Homer gets a job in his sleep when his crafty excuses about dozing off in a department store display bed are mistaken for a sales pitch.

The following week in the "Crook and Ladder" episode Sunday, May 6 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT), Maggie cuts a path of destruction after Marge follows advice in a parenting magazine and throws away her pacifier, while Homer, driven to sleeping pills by the incessant squeaking of Maggie's replacement "binkie," becomes a sleepwalker with a penchant for mischief.

In the "Stop, Or My Dog Will Shoot" episode of THE SIMPSONS airing Sunday, May 13 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT), after successfully rescuing Homer from a corn maze, the Simpsons' family dog, Santa's Little Helper, is recruited to be a police dog but subsequently violates police code, inadvertently getting off a known drug dealer. Meanwhile, Marge and Homer buy Bart a python, which escapes into the school science lab during show-and-tell. Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Kiefer Sutherland and Mary Lynn Rajskub guest-voice the landmark 400th episode of THE SIMPSONS, the series' one-hour season finale entitled "You Kent Always Say What You Want"/"24 Minutes" (Sunday, May 20, 8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). Anchorman Kent Brockman utters a swear word on live television when coffee is spilled in his lap, and Ned Flanders wages an anti-indecency campaign. Meanwhile, with the help of Jack Bauer (guest voice Sutherland) and Chloe O'Brian (guest voice Rajskub), Bart and Lisa, agents of the Counter Truancy Unit (CTU), must stop bullies Dolph, Kearney and Jimbo from releasing the ultimate stink bomb at the school's annual bake sale.

FAMILY GUY serves up four all-new May Sweeps episodes, starting with "Boys Do Cry" Sunday, April 29 (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT), featuring guest voices Drew Barrymore and Gilbert Gottfried. The family heads to church when Lois gets a gig as the organist, but after Stewie gets sick, the congregation is convinced he's possessed by the devil. So, the family goes on the run and ends up in Texas, where Peter fits in with the cowboys, Stewie enters the "Little Miss Texas" pageant and Chris and Meg sneak into George W. Bush's house. The following week Sunday, May 6 (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT) in the "No Chris Left Behind" episode, when Chris gets expelled from school, the family enrolls him in a snooty boarding school Mr. Pewterschmidt attended, and the chicken returns to pick a fight with Peter. When Lois discovers that Mayor West is a corrupt politician, she runs for mayor of Quahog and wins, while Peter enjoys the perks of being the mayor's husband in the "It Takes A Village Idiot (And I Married One)" episode Sunday, May 13 (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT). And, in the season finale of FAMILY GUY, "Meet the Quagmires" airing Sunday, May 20 (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT), Death grants Peter's wish of going back in time to be 18 again just for one night so that he can sow his wild oats. In 1984, he bails on a date with Lois to go to a bar and make out with a movie actress, but when he returns to the present, he discovers that he is now married to the former starlet and Lois is with Quagmire.

This May, AMERICAN DAD rolls out three all-new episodes. First up on Sunday, April 29 (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) is "When a Stan Loves a Woman." After Stan discovers that Francine has a secret, he fears their marriage may be on shaky ground, while Steve becomes addicted to an energy drink and finds himself panhandling in the streets to support his habit. When Stan brings home special CIA equipment to eavesdrop on conversations, he discovers how his neighbors really feel about him, and to get back at them and live free of criticism, he has the entire neighborhood evicted in the "I Can't Stan You" episode Sunday, May 6 (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT).

The following week on Sunday, May 13 (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) in the "Magnificent Steven" episode, Stan is prosecuted for sending contaminated cattle to the slaughterhouse, and Roger starts a cat fight between Francine and Haley after he unintentionally gives one a little more attention. And in the season finale of AMERICAN DAD, "Joint Custody" Sunday, May 20 (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT), Roger becomes a bounty hunter, and he and Stan race cross-country to turn in Jeff, wanted for smuggling pot into Florida.

I agree - it was better than I expected it to be. But given the ratings (fewer than 5 million viewers on Monday), it was inevitable. But, according to my contact, a lot of people at the network wanted to air the remaining 2 episodes in spite of the low ratings. But in the end, as always with networks, money talks.

Hopefully they'll air the last 2 episodes in the summer, like they said they will.

I expect it to air on the Fox Myspace page, it is what they usually do. I just hate we never see who wins the race, lol.

5th Grader was FOX only hit this season. Happy Hour was cancelled and The Winner chances of coming back are 30/70.

Til Death improved after Idol and had decent numbers for its season finale.

Fox doesn't give their dramas any time to try and shine.
