Dax, you and I thought the same thing on Lillian. No offense to the actress playing the part, but it seem so different from the 1st Season perspective as to how Charles behave with his mother and father on the phone. The mother seemed to be a caring and loving person, even though we never see her at all in the 1st Season, just the mention on the telephone and how she seem like a proud and caring mother. When Lillian comes into the picture in the 2nd season, it is a totally different perspective we have. Lillian is a bit over protective and a little overbearing on Charles' behalf.

Also, during the first season Mr. and Mrs. Pembroke became Charles' second parents since he was living away from his own mom and dad. Being away from his own family, brought Charles just that much closer to the Pembrokes. This "family" feeling to the show was lost once Charles' real mom shows up.

Another hi-five to the one that picks Lillian as the least fave.

I wasn't too crazy over Lillian either. But, Buddy was one of my favs behind Charles.
